I had a bad experience with this salon! Firstly, I came to this salon in March 2017 to have a silk press, which I enjoyed and reviewed accordingly. In April 2018, Dar installed a 360 lace frontal unit that I bought. I was initially satisfied with the service. "30 Second Lace Adhesive" was used. It's a low-quality neighborhood hair store glue. That glue became saturated in my lace and it was resistant to adhesive remover, rubbing alcohol, and shampoo scrubbing. I was upset because the stylist never disclosed that the glue could do that. Also, I broke out from that glue, which Dar mentioned my May 18th appointment. Maybe that's why they should carry a range of product! I've only been to this salon three times to clarify, March 2017 (Monica), April 2018 (Install w/ Dar), May 18, 2018 (Wig Maintenance, Natural Hair Care w/ Dar). To voice the glue complaint I called on May 17th and provided my complaint to Jasmine and she reassured me that it would be forwarded to Monica and Dar and that they would call me back that day. They never called. My appointment was on the 18th and they were nonchalant about it then. The only reason I came back was to give the salon the benefit of the doubt. With the May 18th appointment, I directly told Dar I needed my style to hold for three days, and my unit to hold for that three days. She reassured me that as long as I wrapped it with a scarf it would last. Saturday, 19th, it already started lifting even though I followed the instructions. I called immediately and spoke with Monica, who told me that she was doing a chemical service and would call back and never did. Being that I had already been ignored about a complaint before, I was frustrated and posted a review on here about my experience. I left a truthful review stating how I felt and I was graceful enough to give the salon two different appointments that I paid for, two polite calls, and a voicemail about each issue, so I gave them the chance to resolve the issues before I wrote a detailed review online. The owner refuted my review with the excuse that my review is the only negative review regarding her salon. Well, there's always a first for everything. Just as she attacked the validity of my negative review, who knows if the positive reviews are valid? Anyone could write them. Through all of this, she has had the time to communicate with stylists across the city, which she claimed I was booted from their chairs. That is not true, I am not even from Pennsylvania, I am an out-of-state client. She publicly made that false statement, she called me negative, low-budget, and drama-filled. That is the epitome of unprofessional. The only thing that I did wrong is to act like I liked the subpar service I received which did provide her a mixed message. There you go Monica, I admitted my part, and I booked the second appointment to give your salon the benefit of the doubt. That's called customer loyalty for your information! This lady rambles on and on about everything but the facts, and instead of addressing what I complained about she attacked my personality instead. Head over to google reviews to read my review and the owner's response! This neighborhood salon is NOT UPSCALE, it might be more upscale than getting your hair done in someone's kitchen, but it's the customer service when an issue comes up that minimizes it's "upscaleness." Instead of actually addressing my issues the owner trivially argued with me about my "stronjey strut, Instagram celebrities, and she stated that for what I paid $185 and $95 for at each appointment respectively I wanted work that Instagram girls pay $500-$5000 for. In one token, she's stressing how upscale and expert they are but then shes telling me they cant produce that level of work. Confusing... She came across that the $185 and $95 that I paid was nothing. Real nice, but then has the nerve to say I am rude and distasteful. Get in reality lady because you sound like an imbecile! By the way, most of those Instagram stylists only charge $90-$150 for an install as well because I checked out their pages. Last, if you have the spare time to gossip about me try actually professionally resolving complaints. Just because you didn't agree with my review doesn't make it invalid or distasteful. read more
