Took a chance on a walk in appointment this weekend & I'm so happy I did. Victoria & Shelby at the front desk were so kind & welcoming. They took the time to explain their services & pricing & made sure I was able to get a cut the same day. Marcus took me right back to talk about what I wanted & even the things I didn't like about my current cut. I got a lovely shampoo & conditioning treatment which smelled great & was super relaxing. Then Marcus gave me a very thorough & precise cut. I felt like he was really focused & taking care with my hair. After a blowout & style I ended up with a stunning cut that was everything I asked for. He actually corrected mistakes my last stylist made & gave me a very flattering style. Honestly thrilled & will definitely be seeing him for color soon. read more

For me, if I can walk into a salon and get my hair done right without a scheduled appointment...that's already a plus. There is actually a Pelusi salon that is much closer to me than this location, but my favorite stylist is here. Even when my fave isn't available, I find that most of the other ladies here know their stuff and can pretty much give me the hair cut in the picture that I show them on my cell phone :) As many times as I've visited Philip's salons, I just realized today that I have never done a review on them and I'm not sure why. I fell in love with Pelusi's salons when I got my first hair cut outside of a black salon. I remember it like yesterday...it was from a cute short Italian New Yorker that I secretly call "The scissor artist" because she's one baddd chic when it comes to cutting and styling hair. When she finished my hair and gave me that mirror that reflected a brand new woman whom I had never met before...she had me. :) Her name is Catie and I picture her cheeks turning bright red if she ever finds out about this review. I outed her, but she's that good y'all. (And yes, I'm only talking about hair here!) Lol I find it difficult to find a good salon that consistently services ethic hair well so when I got that first cut about 7 years ago or so, they won over my heart. The customer service is always good with a smiling face greeting me every time I walk in the door. They take time giving you a thorough consultation before touching your hair. I like that they encourage me to do bold new things with my hair styles to bring out the raging diva inside of me with that striking inverted bob, high stacked in the back, please and thank you very much!. Today, when I checked in I was told it would be a 15 minute wait. After about 20 minutes, my designated stylist came over, apologized for the extra wait and assured me that she would be with me in another few minutes. I appreciated that because it made me feel important and shows that they care. Immediately after that, I was offered coffee or water and asked if I was okay. Nice touch. Some may claim that their prices are high and they may be depending on how much you value yourself. For me, it's a welcome treat and a pat on my own back...which is priceless. Check them out though. Ashley takes care of me here and she's very creative , intelligent , and professional. . She possesses a lot of skills that not all hair stylist may have all at once . I have gone to a lot of different hair places(in the past before I became loyal to this salon) and never found my favorite place to settle, so I've seen a lot of different salons and stylists in different areas. Stylists may have one quality but not have another ...example , like person A may have creativity but no people skills and person B may have people skills , but tend to do an amateur job. Ashley at Phillip pelusi in robinson has everything from people skills to natural talent , quickness , vision, among other great perks of her personality. Overall , what's most important is the quality of the job she did---The way my hair looks and is cut , dyed, etc has a HUGE impact on how others view me and my confidence level. She has always succeeded to provide me with confidence, beauty , & self care knowledge when I go home. That's rare to find , I would recommend this stylist to anyone who doesn't already have a loyal hair dresser or place to go. read more

I was offered a full refund for all services (even the cut I told them I was happy with) and sent a gift card. I called to make an appointment for a cut and color. I arrived to my appointment to discover that they had only booked me for a cut and did not have time to do my color. They apologized and scheduled me for a color later that week. The morning of my color appointment, I was informed that it was canceled due to the stylist calling off. I understand things happen but two different times I was scheduled and both times were messed up. Needless to say, I was not impressed. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a salon not only to be charge a lot to go there the stylist is the stylists are very unprofessional they gossip with each other the receptionist comes over constantly constantly and chats with the stylist while she does or does your hair the stylist forgets to do large spots of your hair while she does your hair Other stylus constantly come over and interrupts your Silas Silas constantly plays on her phone like a child they charged you an arm and a leg to do your hair and when you call to complain and ask for your money back the salon manager who also came over to bug your stylist pretends to help you and does nothing. It's all in who you get! I went here for basic highlights and a trim and I ended up leaving with my hair looking almost the same as when I went in. The girl did not seem very sure of herself and also talked me out of getting my hair trimmed. I paid $100.00 and she didn't even bother to highlight the front of my hair so looking at me head on you can still see my roots. This is my review from about this time last year, as I'm going to another salon soon to get it fixed up. I waited this long in hopes that I could slowly fix it myself, but there's no hope. I had Jocelyn. Not sure if she still works there, but it was 1/10. I went for a cut and highlights. I had never had my hair colored before so I didn't know what to expect. She kept complaining about how thick my hair was and how much bleach she'd need would be "annoying". Before she even cut my hair, she stood and had a conversation with me about how she partied in high school and how she just "hates people". Great start to a new client. I came in knowing exactly what color highlights I wanted. I told her and she made a few recommendations that I politely listened to (she's the hair stylist, not me! So of course I took it into consideration). I declined and wanted my original choice. She sighed and walked away for 15 minutes. After the coloring, I watched as she gave me a layer in my hair. I specifically told her upfront I did not want any layers or stylings of any type. She followed me to the counter to see if I'd leave her a tip and when I didn't, she stomped away. All of the other employees that I encountered seemed wonderful, though. I had two people compliment my eyebrows and eyes. The man at the counter was very professional. Just don't see Jocelyn if she's still there! Very immature. read more

Went here to get highlights and a quick trim The good: Got last minute appointment after 5 pm Very friendly and polite staff Not overly pushy I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted. She listened and didn't force her ideas on me, which I appreciate. I also told her not to chop off too much of my hair, and for the first time in my life, I found a hairstylist that listened. They also suggest products, but won't force you to buy it. The bad: The color didn't end up being what I wanted, and so the result wasn't what I desired. Add to that the $165 (full head highlights, layers) bill, I was a bit disappointed. read more

Not happy with my experience. Went in for basic haircut and style. Based on my hair type the stylist suggested I get a temporary Keratin express blowout. After going on and on about it I finally agreed. She told me it would be $125 (I have very long, thick hair). About 20 minutes into the application my eyes started burning and itching. Then my scalp started tingling. I should have made her stop but she was almost done with the application so i sucked it up and dealt with it. As the day went on my eyes continued to burn, and my scalp got worse. I called and asked what brand keratin was used. After calling the company I found out the keratin has wheat in it, which I am HIGHLY allergic to! I immediately called the salon back and told them that their stylist should have 1) inform customers of any allergens in their products and 2) she should have done a test strip on my hair first. Neither was done. I asked how I can get this out of my hair and the "manager" I spoke with said to wash my hair and get medical attention. No offer to have me Come in so they can help get this stuff out of my hair, no offer of a refund, nothing. All they offered was to let stylists know. I will definitely be finding another salon, and will not recommend this place to anyone read more

If you want you hair to be hacked come here. Totally hacked one side of my hair - left side was shorter than the right. Also the left side was choppy and the right side was not. So if that wasn't bad enough, i was stupid enough to return for a recut. Now my hair is wrecked. Chopply all over and does not blend at all, looks like two cuts. I have never had such a bad cut. Both stlists did not listen to me and now i am paying the price. My hair looks awful, no amount of curling, strightening, blow drying, or use of styling product has helped. TOTALLY HACKED. This salon does not conider hair type, texture, or desired style. Just scissor-happy-one-stlye-fits-all approach here. read more

I unexpectedly walked in one day with that nervous, "Should I do this" (try a new hairdresser), worried attitude and that day I left not only satisfied but confident knowing that my search is finally over! I highly recommend this salon to anyone that has ever felt that same long term frustration of never being able to find exactly what you need, because now you will! Denym, my hairdresser who has helped positively transform my hair from the start of that initial visit has been absolutely welcoming and so helpful and kind! I walked in the morning of my son's wedding with no appointment. I can't even begin to thank the staff there! They were honestly the most caring, wonderful amazing people! Me not being an emotional person at all had my first breakdown/panic attack EVER. They took care of me as though I was family and I will be forever grateful. I have been going to Philip Pelusi for a few years. I have even referred others there. I was very happy with Shelly but she moved to another salon. My next stylist was Jonna. She was great also. I had an appt the day that the salon had to close for the Covid pandemic. I received a phone call and was rescheduled for 2 weeks when they were going to reopen. The salon did not reopen at that time and I never got a call to reschedule. I tried to call them but could never get an answer. I went to the salon the day they reopened to get an appt. There were others who had been called and given appts. When I inquired about this I was treated VERY rudely. My stylist was booked out a week. I had to make an appt with another stylist. I should have been one of the first people called to be scheduled due to the fact that I had an appt the day they closed! The new stylist didn't seem to happy about being back to work. Absolute worst manicure/pedicure I have ever had! This salon should NOT EVEN be able to offer pedicures with the ridiculous set-up they have. Let me just describe the pedicure 'chair' for you. In the corner of a small room inside the salon there is a large stool on top of a wooden platform. The chair literally has NO BACK! You have to lean against the drywall the entire time! That's not even the worst part though.... there is a separate wooden platform directly below the stool that holds the foot bath.... here's the kicker... the foot bath is a rounded shape (looks like it came straight out of the box from Walmart) and the cut out in the wood platform is square shaped. I almost knocked it over three times during the pedicure just lifting my feet out so the girl could paint my toes, which would have spilled water all over the electrical cord dangling from the thing. The whole set-up is completely make-shift and rickety. It was extremely uncomfortable. I can't believe a salon of this size and with its reputation would not have a proper pedicure chair for this service. read more
