I came to the place for short hair haircut. It is hard to get reservations, the wait is long. Your credit card is charged before the first time. I think the place is excellent for somebody with long hair and who needs coloring. It did not meet my expectations. read more

I have been going to Victoria for a few years and I have never been disappointed. I've never had anything done to my hair other than a cut and dry. Over time, I've wanted to change my look from adding color to my hair and adding extentions. She was spot on with ALL her recommendations. In fact, each time I see her, I love the magic she does more and more. She's a hair stylist who's honest and listens to your needs. She's the only one I'd ever have touch and do what she wants to my hair. She never disappoints! You could tell she loves what she does. Look no further! The best salon in the DMV area. Becca is the most amazing stylist I've ever met. I got bleach happy last summer (whole head just WHITE hair) and went to THREE stylists trying to get back to my natural dirty blonde and every single one gave me some variation of a deep auburn that didn't match my roots at all, and argued with me about it. After hundreds of dollars blown, Becca was the only stylist that took the time to look at my old hair pictures and talked me through lifting the red and all the possibilities of how it could turn out because she couldn't be sure what the last 3 stylists did. The woman is an angel and my hair turned out incredible. She took the time to do the most foils I've ever seen and somehow I walked out FINALLY blonde. I've gone back to her for 2 hair cuts since then and each time she takes the time to listen and ask questions so there's no miscommunication about what I want. I cannot say enough about how incredible she is, I will never let anyone else ever even think about touching my hair. If she ever moves I'm going with her. read more

I am very picky when it comes to my hair. This salon was introduced to me by my sister. She has been their client from last 6-7 years. I am so glad that I listened to her & made my first appointment with Becca. This woman is AMAZING and knows her business well. She listens to your needs and give honest recommendations. I walked in wanting to get platinum highlights but she explained me what can go wrong since my roots are black. I am very happy that she gave me the best highlights I have ever got. I have received endless compliments on the color & the cut. My hair feels very healthy & growing fast than ever. Vicky & her entire staff is very friendly & welcoming. They all are very talented & certified. Beside that, their prices are amazing & that's what makes them the best & unique as well. I am looking forward to returning to Becca! PS, I am absolutely loving the highlights fading phase. read more

Edit: I stand by everything I wrote below back in 2012, but I want to add that I have started to to Crystal, another stylist at Salon Vie and she is as amazing as Vicki! They are so great there, you just can't go wrong! :) LOVE love love Salon Vie. Vicki has been doing my hair (and my mom's, sister's, brother's, best friend's, best friend's mom's and best friend's brother's hair) since she was working at the Dulles Town Center Mall Bubbles. About 10 years and 2 salon ago! I ADORE her and she is amazing. She styled my entire bridal party's hair for my wedding and my hair was AMAZING. Before my wedding, I had an appointment with her for a cut, color, and extentions. Then the day of the wedding, she came to my hotel with another one of her girls who works at Salon Vie and they did such an amazing job. She styled each girl's hair exactly how I wanted. I've NEVER had to wait for my appointment, they are always offering me coffee or water. Their location is a bit odd with the construction all around but they are SO worth it. Such a calming, relaxing atmosphere inside. I would strongly recommend getting your hair cut, colored, styled, etc here. Ask for Vicki. She is amazinggg and I loove Salon Vie! read more

Love my color and cut!!! Danielle did a marvelous job!! She was able to keep the length and make it look fresh! I haven't changed my hairstyle in years. I had so many compliments saying the cut and color made me look younger. I was worried about being able to get in this week on short notice but Victoria made it easy! I made the appointment through yelp and she got back to me quickly about different options. Thank you! I can't wait to return! read more

I absolutely love what Victoria Escobar can do with my hair! They have a beautiful salon and staff quick to appease your every whim. I just realized I've been going here for about a year and a half now and haven't reviewed this MARVELOUS place! My regular stylist is Becca, and she is an absolute doll, she will take care of you and listen to any of your needs and really makes you feel absolutely confident in her abilities (because she's great). I specifically asked for someone that was good with color (really, blondes) and she was recommended to me. And I have never looked back. The salon itself is funky and has a great trendy atmosphere and everyone there is all about customer service being #1, so you are well taken care of. (I believe they also have other services like waxing as well!) Go, your hair will thank you. read more

In from out of town, and called to see if they could squeeze in a walk-in wash and blow out. They were so friendly and welcoming and worked me in quickly no problem. The woman who washed my hair gave me the most therapeutic wash/massage I've probably ever had. And the woman who dried my hair took care to be thorough with every part of my thick long greying mop, and made it lay beautifully, full of volume and shine. The care, attention, and warmth these women gave to me meant so much. I would be a regular here if I could! Sincere thanks again, ladies. read more

I have been wanting to try the keratin treatment for a long time because the longer my curly hair gets, the more unruly it is. When I saw the Specialicious coupon, I went on Yelp and saw that the salon got good reviews. It isn't like others I've seen where the salon had HORRIBLE reviews. Before getting it, I talked to my stylist who I have been going to for years, and she could only do it on Mondays or Tuesdays. I am a single mother who has a full-time job, so I decided to go ahead and buy it so I could get it done on the weekend. The salon is easy to get to, and it has ample parking. I parked and went up. Autumn was really nice. She answered the 100 questions that I had, and didn't have a hint of annoyance in her voice. The keratin treatment took almost five hours, but I have long hair and it's a lot of it. She was so patient. She said that this was her favorite thing to do. While I waited, she offered me water, and even offered to go next door to get me something. I thought that was really nice of her. My hair is amazing! It's stick straight. I went to a bar that night with my friends. Usually, my hair would have already gone POOF with how hot it was in there. My hair stayed stick straight. On top of that, it's really shiny. The other thing I liked about Autumn was that she showed me my split ends. I was kind of shocked because when I go see my stylist, she always snips a little and has never shown me the amount of split ends I have. She cut my split ends to what I was comfortable with, and I made appointments for the kids and me to get haircuts in November. LOVING my hair. read more

I have been getting my haircut here for the past 4 years. It is incredibly clean, professional, and all the girls are very nice. They have recently turned into an independent contractor salon ( booth renting I think they call it ) and the booking process is a lot easier now because all I have to do is contact my stylist directly or book online and she gets me right in. read more

I've been to some of the top salons in this country and used to frequent the original Paul Mitchel salon for my haircuts in LA... and I must say that this salon is equal if not better than any high end salon I've been to. During the past 5 years I've been dark black, a red head and now I'm a blonde. Vicki, the owner, has been with me every step of the way... recommending products, giving me treatments and making style recommendations. I cannot say enough as to her professionalism and experience! The rest of salon staff are bubbly and fun and you'll likely become part of the ongoing conversation that takes place! It's always a fun time going in for highlights! This is definitely a small hidden gem of a salon. It is located right off of Waxpool across from IMI Furniture. The salon owner "Vicki" is there everyday with the exception of Monday. She's got a fantastic personality and is warm and welcoming. The salon is immaculate, serving coffee, tea and snacks. Appointments are not always necessary, but are recommended. read more

Have been going there for past year. I am one of the person who gets hair cut every 3-4 months... I use to go any where and where ever depending on my time and availability. Until I came across going to Salon Vie about a year ago. The have amazing stylist, they are willing to listen and offer honest suggestion. No pressure of purchasing products. They are bit expensive but the quality of service is above the cost of the hair cut service. I haven't tried other specialist service like color or treatment but have seen other people around getting it done. read more

I was very disappointed with my second visit to Salon Vie. The first time Maddie did a cut and style. I was very pleased. It was just the style I was looking for, and I received a lot of complements. But for my second visit Maddie is now gone, and Vicki that seems to get a lot of good feedback on the board was fully booked. This time I had a highlights and a cut with Crystal. The cut was okay, although was not really what I asked for. The highlights were particularly disappointing. I requested natural looking highlights, instead they are very chunky. If anyone finds out where Maddie went I would be interested to know. read more

I went to Salon Vie today for the first time after moving just down the street. I called for an appointment on Tuesday and got on for Saturday with Leslie. I will definitely be returning here for my next haircut! read more

I should probably start off by saying I'm super picky when it comes to my thin fragile hair. I've been looking for a salon the past two years, and I can honestly say I've found it here! I went today for my first appointment with Amanda, again it had been a while since my last haircut and it was long over due. Amanda asked me exactly what I wanted, I had a picture to shows her and she nailed it! I cut about six (plus) inches off, which is a terrifying experience usually, but this time I left happier than ever! I'm looking forward to more visits here and finally keeping my hair styled and heathy! read more

I recently had my hair done by someone and it didn't come out how I expected. I was freaking out because I had to go to the beach two days later. The next morning I called Salon Vie, explained my problem and they squeezed me in that same morning! Autumn explained to me what my options were in order to get my hair to what I originally wanted. She was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable right away. She was super sweet and made my experience great. My hair came out perfect! I was so pleased with their customer service as well as the outcome of my hair. I highly recommend this salon and I will se return! read more

I don't know how hair stylist Rebecca A Loveless does it. But, she takes my hair vision and totally makes it happen. She listens, and adds a creative touch. She has a sense for style and trend, and offers great advice (when asked, which I do quite often). I have naturally curly hair, so getting a good cut is hard to find. She does a fantastic job. I change my hair color almost every season. This summer, I wanted to do highlights and Rebecca did auburn. I love it! read more

My first experience here was with the owner, who was very sweet, however, I feel she and her staff are not up to par with some of the advanced techniques that a salon like them should be providing. I knew right away she didn't understand the concept of balayage. A natural way of highlighting. My second appointment I had, I was called three times to push my appointment back because they got busy. The sweet lady who did my hair did not seem experienced and left blue toner in my hair. They were gracious about fixing it but again I was not left happy. Being sweet to your costumers is great but having stylists that seem to vary in experience does not bring this salon together. Especially for blondes. If you're looking for a stylist here that knows color well, I would look elsewhere because you won't find it here. read more

I was looking for a stylist to do my hair for my wedding. After reading some of the comments in here, I decided to go with them. I had the trial done with Autum two month before the wedding. I think she did a pretty good job so I went ahead and scheduled appointment for both hair and makeup for my bridal party on my wedding date. TWO days before my wedding they called me to confirm the appointment and asked me if we were only getting hair done there. I confirmed with them that I booked both hair and makeup. Then I was told that whoever took my appointments never communicated with the makeup artist and no one was available to do makeup for my wedding. Really?! Two days before my wedding?! This was basically a nightmare! I don't even want to mention the rest. Will never go back there again! read more

Lauren is a ｇｅ ｎｉｏｕｓ. I've given her creative control throughout every session we've had. I've trusted her 100% and she's blown me away! She's a visionary and makes hair do things you would never think could happen. My hair was a very dark ash brown. I have been slowly transitioning to a bright blond. It's taken 3 sessions, today being the third and I'm now a Blond! A bright, soft blond. It takes patience, pure passion & enthusiasm. She's my forever colorist and stylist! If you're looking for a fresh new look or even unsure of what you want to do, Lauren will be honest, thorough and give you the color and cut of your dreams. The Salon atmosphere is fun, comfortable and unlike pretentious salons we've all visited, this is a very modern and friendly place to be. I had an overall pleasant experience with Crystal as my stylist. I'm pretty picky and Crystal was patient and understanding of my needs. I had to give more direction than I wanted but if you're someone that knows what you want, Crystal will do a great job. I'm happy with the color and cut of my hair.
