I am actually shocked by how poorly this place has treated me. I have given this place the benefit of the doubt the last 3 TIMES I have gone and I have always left upset. For context, I am a college age girl with thick brown hair that exclusively asks for long layers and face framing pieces. The first time I went to BUBBLES, I told Clair I wanted 2 in off. She preceded to take off at least 4 in. I kinda of shrugged it off at first but I was not happy when I left. The second time I went to the salon, to a different stylist, I got botched layers and my hair was in the shape of a v for months. I come back today (because my sister swears by Clair and this place and her hair always turns out perfectly) with inspiration pics, asking questions and being as involved as I could have been. I asked for 2in off, mind you my hair is all the way down my back at this point. Clair, again, assures me all will be well and by the end of the appointment had chopped off 7 INCHES of my hair. At the end of the appointment she says "oh, I didn't realize how much I cut off" and offers me a 10% discount, which was not only upsetting but also insulting to say the least. Keep in mind, 2 more inches and I would have had a bob. I am so appalled and upset that that was the reaction I got. I am never one to complain or cause a problem, but I had been growing out my hair for 1.5 years up to today, so I am really upset. My hair does not hold curl, so I have no idea how to style this mess I now have to deal with and will probably have to spend more money and time than ever. This place is so incompetent and careless and I cannot believe I let them do this to me again. read more

My wife made an appointment here and proceeded to go to her appointment. On arriving at the salon she was not given the price until after the appointment was complete. My wife was taken advantage of and will not ever come back to this salon. There is an advertisement on their website of a 20% discount on first visit cut and color, which was NOT offered to her. I would believe that if you really wanted a new client, you would have first told her up front the cost and offer her a discount. Instead, she was charged a crazy amount of $420 for a cut and color. This really upset her as well as infuriated me. This place will never get my business or my wife's business. I will tell all my friends and family to not frequent this place. I booked an appointment for a haircut online. The appointment was for just a haircut and the price was $36. I went and got my haircut. I expressed uncertainty about what the stylist was doing (I said I didn't want layers). She said that once she dried it, I would like it. I went to check out and she tried to charge me $62. She pulled out a price sheet, which was dated January 2022. It is June 2022 now, so they've had months to match the website to the price sheet. Not only was she attempting to up-charge me based on that but also because when she decided to dry my hair, that also added an up-charge. I refused to pay more than what I had agreed to online. She brought out her manager. I pointed out that I had booked a $36 appointment and not a $62 appointment. Manager said she "guessed" it was their responsibility to communicate with customers about price. She said she'd let it go on $36 "this time". There will not be a next time. Total scam. read more

Hely is AMMMAZING!! 2 years with pandemic my hair needs a lot of love and attention. To make it worst I have fine frizzy brownish black hair that not everyone knows how to handle. I can write a long list of bad cuts and colors I had in 25 years of living in the Northern Virginia area. BUT it's hair they grow out. Hely was a recommendation for pre-pandemic my favorite hairstylist that relocated out of the area. Hely went above and beyond to ensure I would love the color of my highlights. Great place to go for a haircut if you know what you are looking for, but I would def make sure to emphasize while booking your appointment (over the phone, don't use their online site) which stylist you want or if you want the cheap base price to confirm that. They have a tendency to stick walk-ins and random appointments with their most expensive stylists and stick you with their full rate (which can go up into the $80-90 area, for a $30 haircut) Also take advantage of the 20% off sale they run every month or so, because it'll pretty much cover how much you have to tip them! Sign up for their emails list to get notified when they have the discount One pet peeve I had is that one stylist tried to upcharge me for having thick hair (which has never happened to me with any of their other stylists, nor at other salons) so beware!! Once I came to the salon, I was told that the other person will color my hair. That was fine since it was my first visit at this place. Her rate was $181 for this type of work plus a few more mandatory additions they wanted to do so the final price came around $250! ONLY for highlight on short hair! I didn't even have any intention on getting layers and I told her in the beginning I wanted a long bob and she just insisted layers would be even better " trendy " as she said, ( it's my fault I didn't use my voice again ) after telling her I didn't want layers but tried them out anyways. She asked what I was looking for (cut, focusing on split ends) and told me the price of $45 which I liked instead of at check-out. Received shampoo/conditioner (peppermint). She asked if I preferred straight or v shape. She really took her time cutting my hair with long, blended, soft layers. She had a smile throughout the whole time I was there. Came here last year looking to get a fresh now look. I have always been a little hesitant about bubbles because my first experience at another location a few years back was horrible. However, after moving to this location last year I decided to give it one more shot since it's right by where I work. I was fortunate to have stylist Ms. Sophia work with me. She was so kind and welcoming. At the time I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to be done with my hair only that I was going for a fresh new look, possibly coloring. She suggested doing Ombré to it and I have to say it came out AMAZING! It caught me by surprise at how well it came out and might I also add all the compliments I had gotten for it. She was wonderful! That being said, I came back today for a touch up with ms Sophia or maybe try something different. She recommended highlights being added to make the ombré look like a more natural look. She worked her magic and it yet again, came out great! The staff is amazing, stylists are amazing. I went in for face framing highlights because the salon I normally go to was booked for weeks. I have bright blonde hair and my roots were growing in. I left with orange roots and damaged hair. Never go to Sray for highlights, she did not even brush my entire head OR blow dry it I left with soaking wet, orange, dead hair. She spoke highly of herself before the service and said she could do what I asked. She should NEVER touch blondes hair because now I have to deal with months of repair and regret. P.S. she did not even own a brush only a comb... AND she dropped bleach almost directly into my eye while she was washing it out. read more
