I would never allow Jenny at Ryan Park BarberShop to ever touch my head again. She totally ruined my beard that took me weeks to grow. Jenny did not follow my instructions when I explained what I wanted done and once I expressed displeasure, she showed zero remorse or concern. She just wanted to get the $25 fee. I am extremely disappointed! I strongly recommend potential clients look for a different barber shop and if you must choose this one, definitely avoid Jenny. I would have rather have waited an hour for a stylist that would follow my instructions than have a horrible job as Jenny did. read more

I have been going to this place since 2017 and I think today is the last. This place used to have good barbers who used to listen what customers want. Much recently every cut has been a disaster. 6 different people gave me cut in the last 6 months and everyone is worse than the before. The lady who gave me a cut today is a disaster. I've got my haircut here twice. The first time, it was bad. I have a cowlick and the lady needed to call for backup to deal with it. It took forever as she stalled for awhile going over the same areas over and over again. My colleague pointed out how bad the back of my head looks as it was crooked and uneven. After 3 awesome haircuts, I decided to take another chance here out of laziness and convenience. Took a ticket and waited patiently. I looked up and saw 10, I had 11. Looked down waiting and looked up and it was suddenly 13...? They never called out my number I had to get up to get noticed. I was really hoping not to get the same lady but I did. Sat in the same chair all the way back to the right. I was hoping maybe she got better. I mentioned the cow lick and warned her about it. With confidence she acknowledges it. Then an hour passes as she TRIMS OVER THE SAME SPOTS OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!! Because she's waiting for the same guy to come help her with the same thing - my cow lick. And yes the back of my head is crooked and uneven again and 2 hours of my time is lost, i noticed 2-3 customers come and go as I sit there waiting. I paid that 17 dollars and that will be the last time. I decided not to come back the first time, I should have stuck with that promise. Eric is the guy to go to! He only works certain days so you might need to call ahead to find out when he works but he cuts hair like a boss. All you have to do is show him a picture and he understands what you need and does the magic. Highly recommend going to him! read more

I've been going here for years. They always do a good job and get me in and out quickly. Ryan has given me the best haircuts from the team, but Ivy and Rachel also do an excellent job. They've also done a good job with my two year old son who reallllly doesn't like to get his hair cut. It's not a traditional, old time barber shop but they offer all of the services (beard trim, shave, etc..) you'd expect. I keep going back as it's way better than the chain/franchise places littered all around Ashburn. Only negatives are they could be a little more talkative and create a more casual/friendly environment. Out of all the places my son has gotten his haircut, Ryan Park has been the best. Exactly what we wanted.

I have been coming here for 7-8 months now. I had been searching for a new place to cut my hair for a while. I've been through a few different people over the years. My previous people either left their old establishments. I never was able to track them down. One day, I was driving around and saw this place. I decided to walk in and give them a try. I'm glad I did. I figure the owner of the place has to be able to cut hair, so I asked for Ryan to do my first hair cut here. I have typical Asian male hair, most people just make it uneven and messy. It's super thick. Not much you can really do with it. So far, I have not used any other stylist but Ryan, so I really can't comment on the others working there. If you become a regular, then they will remember. I don't have to tell Ryan what I need done, he just knows. One of these days, I'm going to surprise him and say buzz it off. No, just kidding :) After the cut is done, they give you a little hot towel massage on the back of the neck. It's a nice way to finish off the cut. Price wise, it's $14. You really can't go wrong with that. The place is always clean. It's also great for kids. There are 2 kiddie chairs, where they will play TV shows or movies for the kids to watch. My son seems to enjoy his cut the times I'm taken him there. If you are in the area and need a cut, stop by and see Ryan. read more

There are several personal laws people should follow. Always be nice to the people who handle your food. If a deal seems too good to be true it probably is. And when people have sharp cutting instruments close to ANY part of your body always, always, ALWAYS make sure they know what they're doing. And the the barber shop at Ryan Park definitely knows what they're doing. They're efficient, quick and pay incredible attention to detail. The prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and they're exceptionally thorough. I've been going off and on to the Ryan Park barbers for the past year, and have never had anything but a fantastic experience. Hubs and son both received awesome cuts. Embarrassed to say that son hasn't had "real" haircut ever and hubs has never been to a barber. Both of them loved their experience & the cuts. I took my 5 month old for his 1st "professional" haircut here. Worst mistake! This is a memory that will always stick with me. I told Amy that I wanted to brush his hair to the side and that I want a trim to what I had already done. Pretty much leaving his beautiful hair full on the top. She proceeded to do as she please and then I told her that I wanted to be able to brush to the side again she said that his hair was straight and that you have to brush to the front. Then out of the blue for her rushing about his head SHE cuts a hole in his hair! Not because my baby moved his head but because of her own doing. All I kept getting was a "I'm sorry" with a smirk! A smirk!!! After she wrecked my babies hair. The sides are uneven too. As a mom this kills me, I feel awful for my baby boy. I will not be returning and plan on calling the owner. If his barbers don't feel comfortable cutting a still baby's hair they need to say so. Also after her cutting a hole in his hair I still had to pay for this mess. I think I would have felt better if she had remorse. But I'm sure after we left she just laughed it off in her language. read more

Good haircut. I've been here about three times. Haven't yet had to wait but I go during early afternoon. I disagree that prices here are good. I get less expensive haircuts in Falls Church. I've also had shaves here. Shaves here are significantly more expensive than Ft. Lauderdale FL where they run about $12. Here a shave costs $18!! That's the highest I've seen anywhere in the US. Downtown DC is higher but those are the real deal without electrics.... HOWEVER, it was a good (not great) shave although I'm not familiar with the electric razers technique. I still enjoy the luxury of a shave so maybe I'll keep getting them here... I guess?? Four stars because it's not a real barber shop in my experience. It's really more of a styling shop using barber tools. read more

A cut above. Me and my young son have been here at least 15 times. Great cuts every time though we both have boring, easy cuts. They take much longer than other places I've been because they pay attention to detail. I try other places but always come back. Try to avoid weekend late mornings or afternoons. It's crowded and they don't rush. It seems quality counts. You won't get much conversation. All business. Kid friendly. I've seen them get some really whiny kids hair cut. I hope the parents tipped generously for this. If you might be freaked out by a small child pointing a plastic toy gun at you, visit during school hours. read more

I used to go there a couple of years ago and Ryan used fo do a pretty good job. Moved back to the area and went for a haircut and it was the worst haircut I have had in years. The haircut I got was with Ryan itself and he spent 10 minutes to give me an uneven haircut, left and right side look completely different. Not sure if he was having a bad day or didn't want to work anymore that day. He didn't pay attention to anything, my hair look like a mess. Will wait for couple of weeks and look for a better barber in the area, any recommendations are welcome. read more

We have been there once before and were happy. My son is 22mo old and the woman we had today was absolutely terrible. She was on autopilot. She just wanted to shave you and shove you out. Not good at all. She lost her patience with my nervous toddler, come on it was only his 4th haircut ever! She was forcibly holding him and scaring him causing him to scream and cry. Ryan, the owner, came over and tried to help but the damage had already been done it was too short, uneven in patches, and all-around sloppy. When we expressed our extreme displeasure he only said sorry and that was it, nothing... I don't know if we will go back but if we do and we aren't given some kind of discount I will be making sure my Ashburn mom friends stop coming here too. EDIT TO ADD: We took others advice and went back but waited for Ryan, while he did a somewhat better job I was not happy to be told that they wanted me to take down my pictures. The woman who messed up my son's hair is no longer there, I was told but I didn't like being asked to change things about my review. while they may be good for others it is NOT a good fit for wiggly toddlers. We came here for my baby's first haircut, they did a good job. Came here again for his second haircut, the woman SHAVED the back of his head like you would with an older child / adult, not a toddler. Then chopped the top. Terrible. They even said "it's ok mama" as tears welled up in my eyes and they tried to fix it. Oyyy. His hair stands up on ends as it's growing out. Poor kid. I was recommended to come to this place by a good friend. For someone that gets a weekly haircut and beard trim, I have a pretty good idea of what I want and how to ask a barber to do it. Also for someone that gets a weekly trim and line up, it's not that difficult to follow the existing lines! Unfortunately my first experience here will be my last as I just left the place with a beard that looks like an abstract piece by Picasso. My wife and I have been brining my family here since they opened and I am finally writing a few. So this is based on over 15+ visits for both myself and my 4 year old son. This is the barber shop that I've been waiting for. They are very professional and always very thorough. As an adult, it's awesome. They do the hot towel, straight razor on your neck, aftershave, eyebrows, even ears. When you walk out you feel like you are seriously groomed -- it's awesome. I think I've had just about all of the barbers there cut my hair and it's always consistent. Even when I walk through the door my wife always nice "Looks good". Every time. My son really likes it too. They have two car chairs that kids can sit in and watch a DVD. Most times that I've been there there are several families lined up with their kids. Ryan the owner is always there and you can tell that he takes a lot of pride in his work and treats his customers right. When you walk in the door everyone says hello with a smile. When you are done they all say good bye. Prices are very reasonable. There's a small play area with stuff for the kids to play with. The shop is always clean and tidy. They have TVs that are on, usually ESPN. I don't always write long reviews but when I do it's because I feel passionate about the business and the service that they provide.
