This location in Sterling Virginia mocked and harassed a young man with disabilities when his mother brought him in for a haircut. The manager asked one barber after another to cut the boy's hair and they all refused and they were laughing at the child. There was one woman that did offer to cut his hair and was very nice, however the manager was indifferent to the situation and the other barbers were laughing and making fun of the young child. I can only speak on my personal experience, but it was definitely the worst haircut I've ever had. The lady that cut my hair undercut the fade and it was way off. She kept cutting to try and line up the side but then took too much off from the correction. I had to shave my head at another barbershop right after. I have had maybe close to 90 haircuts in my life. I just had the worst haircut I've ever received here. I asked for a fade with it longer on top and what I got looked like what a buzz cut would be if I had gotten it 2 months ago. The barber only used one size trimmer for a fade?!? It is completely uneven as well! I swear I could have done a better job myself and I've never cut hair in my life. On top of that I asked for a beard trim and somehow that was messed up too. I simply asked for a trim and shape up of my beard and now it has different lengths to it. Long in some parts and short in others. I didn't know it was possible for one to mess up this badly?! My husband Brian has been going to Daniel for nearly two years, and refuses to see anyone else. Daniel is meticulous, professional and kind. Moving from California where he had seen the same barber regularly for three years, Brian was understandably nervous going to someone new. Daniel was great about checking in the first time to make sure the cut was exactly what Brian wanted. The next time he saw Brian, he remembered exactly how to cut his hair. Apparently he gives really good neck massages too :-) The one downside is that we cannot book an appointment with Daniel (or any barbers at Dulles Barber that matter), so you often have to wait 30 minutes or so. I was going to Brian for maybe 19years here and things haven't been the same since 2023. He messed my teenage sons hair once and threw a fit after being asked to correct it. After my kid decided to go to Vincent for later cuts, Brian permanently held some sort of a weird animosity towards us. Today we walked in and signed in for Vincent, waited for over 30mins...Vincent politely asked us to maybe go to Brian to hep save us some time since he had 2 customers waiting ahead of us. After we obliged to swap over to Brian, that Mother F#%$er simply ignored us and took other customers that came in after us. We literally stomped out mad with that MF. I have also seen recent incidents of other staff members speaking in the local language and mocking customers. This is your good old style barber shop. The crew is very friendly. 6 flat screens with sports or espn usually on which is nice.my go to is cindy she's always and consistently been good. Hot towels after the cut are a bonus. She will even touch up the ears and eyebrows which is nice as well. Cash only here, atms are close by. The only thing missing from this barber shop is a bar. My 9 year old son and I went there today and honestly could not have been more impressed the experience. Tina our barber took her time and was meticulous in getting it right for the both of us. Worst experience ever, I don't know what is wrong with those people. I went with my husband and took 40 mins for a haircut, he went out full of hair, face, shirt even his shorts. The lady didn't ask if he wanted anything on his hair and started to put some gel on it, blowed all the hair from the cape on his shoes, the experience was terrible. The haircut came out one of the worst he ever had, she took too much hair in one side and will take a couple weeks to look normal again. Unfortunately was a waste of time, money and bringing to him the worst time during a haircut a real nightmare, we had a lot of stuff to do after it anf we had to rush to our house so he could clean himself. This is by far the best barber shop in Ashburn, hands down. I found this shop after I went into Roosters, another barber shop in Ashburn, and was told their haircuts start somewhere in the $25-$30 range. Seriously? I'm not looking for frosted tips and a perm buddy, just a skin fade and a trim on top. That is what brought me to Dulles Barber Shop. $17 for a skin fade. That's what I'm talking about. Oh, and they do a hell of a job too. That $17 includes shaving your neck with a straight razor and, in some strange cases, a shoulder massage from the woman or MAN cutting your hair. I'm normally pretty laid back, but I kind of felt strange when the older asian gentleman cutting my hair started to work out the knots in my traps. Just wasn't prepared for it. This is normal, right? The only small negative experience I ever had was a year ago when somehow the clippers the barber was using lopped off a small piece of my ear in back. I actually didn't notice until I saw a small amount of blood when they spun me around in the chair. Honestly, it was a non-essential piece of ear, and I'm pretty sure it grew back. A small price to pay for a good hair cut. Oh, don't forget to bring cash. These guys don't have time to mess with credit card machines-- they are too busy making their patrons look sexy. read more

Have had cuts from both John and Henry and they both took their time and did a great job. They even bust out the straight razor for the back of your neck and the hot towel at the end. They offer beard trimming as well. HD flat screen TVs all over the place, usually on ESPN or something worth watching...and camouflage capes. I've only been here once so far, but it was a good experience. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no wait. The staff was friendly. They did a good job and I enjoyed the shaving cream and straight razor on the back of my neck. Although I didn't get to sit in one of the waiting seats, they look like very nice, comfortable leather cushioned seats, not like the hard plastic you see some other places. I've been going to Dulles Barber Shop for almost a decade. They used to be amazing. They're still pretty good in general, but I've gotten some bad cuts there recently. A coworker actually laughed at me when I walked into the office a few months ago because my cut was noticeably bad, even from a distance. They have a couple really good barbers and a few inconsistent barbers. The service seems inconsistent as well. When no one is working the front desk, it's not uncommon to wait over an hour for one of the really good barbers. I hope they're able to improve to the level they were at a few years ago. read more

I've been going to Dulles Barber since it opened but always got just a haircut. They use straight razors for your neck, a hot towel after your haircut and have a ton of HD TVs on ESPN HD to watch from your comfy leather chair. A few visits ago, I saw a guy nearly twice my age sprawled out on a chair getting a lather shave. Making best use of a half day at work, I went in for a haircut and with the place being empty realized it was finally time for my first. Having successfully lived through the process with no major trauma or scars, I can say it's something every guy should do once. It makes you feel manly and also somehow connects you to the "days of old" when things were slower but better. Not only is it the closest any self-respecting heterosexual male should get to a day at the spa, the results are also somewhat amazing. It's the smoothest shave I've had... ever... something guys could likely use to their advantage with womenfolk. Officially 4.5 stars. Nothing can beat my normal stylist in Bolsa California. I think I finally found my "go-to" haircut place. Tom was the man whom cut my hair today and Im happy to get him! He listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly what I asked for! I cant ask for more. (Well, the Bolsa stylist I normally go to is a beautiful woman and uses her nails during the hair washes... but I digress!) They provide a great haircut experience at this barbershop (right near the Giant and Home Depot and Red Robin). Hot towel, shaving cream on the sides, and an extremely clean facility. Can't give them 5 stars just because they are pricier than other options in the area. Higher quality for sure, but a few bucks more expensive. Not an outrageous cost by any means. So though I am certainly a fan, my stingy nature makes it so that I'm stingy by nature, I'm not "exclusive" to the Dulles Barber Shop. read more

I had a hard time finding a good cut back home as well and may be too picky...my wife even forced me to try some ritzy salon place before we made the trek out. After reading all the reviews I decided to give this place a try and I wasn't dissapointed. Showed up around 10 a.m. on a weekday and waited about 5 minutes for my turn. I went in for a beard trim thinking they'd have a little more finesse than I do with a clippers. The barber was nice and she did clarify that I only wanted a trim and no drastic change which made me feel more comfortable turning the beard over to someone else. I was disappointed that the majority of it was done with clippers, although she did trim and clean up a little bit with scissors. The hot towel was a nice perk, especially for a $9 beard trim.
