I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this salon, especially given that this service was meant to celebrate my 40th birthday--a milestone that holds deep personal meaning for me. I initially scheduled a consultation with the owner, Tony, where I clearly communicated the look I wanted and provided multiple reference photos of an ashy, chocolate-toned balayage. He assured me it was achievable. However, on the day of my appointment, there was no follow-up consultation or discussion before beginning the service. I was the only client in the salon, yet he immediately began applying what I believe was bleach without reviewing the plan or confirming the tones. While processing under the dryer, I was left completely unattended for an extended period. My scalp began to burn, and there was no staff present to assist me. When Tony eventually returned, I expressed my discomfort and was simply told to sit without heat--this was concerning and unprofessional. The end result was far from what I requested. Instead of the soft, ashy balayage we discussed, my hair turned out with harsh, orange-toned highlights and significant damage. The styling afterward was rushed and did not reflect professional standards. After contacting the salon, I was offered a correction appointment. Unfortunately, the second visit only worsened the condition of my hair. The same lack of care and attention was evident, and my hair was further damaged without achieving the desired result. I paid $450 for this service, and instead of feeling confident and celebrated, I left feeling embarrassed and upset. This experience not only fell short of expectations but also lacked the professionalism, communication, and care that clients deserve--especially when trusting someone with such an important service. I had my hair colored, cut and styled today by Ali. Started off with Ali washing my hair with a massage on my head , neck and back, which was so refreshing. He then conditioned and wrapped a hot towel for few minutes in my dry hair. My color, cut and style turned out to be one of the best styles I had ever! It turned out better than the picture I showed him. Ali was very nice and pleasant and explained everything and checked up on me frequently. He even gave me a fresh cup of coffee twice since it got cold during my hair process. I showed the Groupon discount and they matched it without any hesitation as well. This salon and vibe is not for everyone. On the positive side, they work fast, they are accommodating and may take same-day appointments when requested, they can add services that may not have been initially scheduled, and the blowouts can be great. On the negative side, the music is often too loud, even in the mornings, there can be a language barrier which leads to misunderstandings, and they don't take criticism or direction well. I also have not seen their price list. My stylist will walk up to the cashier and give them a dollar amount and I don't know what the breakdown is. Most recently I had an amazing blowout and people were complimenting me days later. Then two weeks later I came in for a single process color and added a trim with my blowout with the same professional. It was the worst haircut I've had in my adult life. I don't know how long it's going take to grow out. All I wanted was a simple trim to clean up the ends. I am also not confident with the quality of their products. Ok, so, here's the deal. I used to work here BUT I am neither going to trash this place, nor do I have any financial interest in its success. I'm just going to write a review to give my opinion of the place. This is fair, I think, because I have ultimate insight :) Hopefully, you find my review very useful and helpful in choosing a salon. The place: Tony puts his heart and soul into the place, and it looks great as a result. It's a very welcoming environment. You're offered a drink, and you're part of the family as soon as you're in the door. Tony's wife, Rima, who works as the receptionist there part time, is the most fashionable person I know. She's a sweetheart, and a super genuine person. Other perks: fashion shows on the flat screen, great music, quality products, sometimes Rima cooks and brings in food!!! The products: The products lines are primarily Phyto and Kerastase. The stylists: TONY gives quite possibly the longest lasting blowouts of anyone I know. Half of his appointments are for blowdry only. He has about a dozen ladies who come in once or twice a week to get their hair done. That speaks for itself. His haircuts also last very long. He's amiable but unabashedly declares his political opinions and thoughts of what's going on. He also goes to Paris 2x year for the Haute Coiffure Francais hair shows and always brings back the DVDs of the show. GRETA is new, and she's never done my hair but in coming back in to chat with Tony, I've spied on her services and seen her work. I approve. She specializes exclusively in color services (and extensions!! exciting!), and the receptionist's highlights look good, so I will be trying her soon enough. Appointments: Salon Tony will bend over backwards to give you an appointment that is good for you. They get very busy but try to accommodate everyone. As a result, when someone is very late for their appointment, it can leave you waiting to get your hair done :( This is a drawback to this place, so if you want to have things go as smoothly as possible, do yourself a favor and book on a weekday. I was told I should let people know my experience here. In the beginning it was great, despite the fact Tony always worked on multiple people at a time. In my humble opinion this is not reassuring for a customer- it makes me feel like his attention is elsewhere. I took a drastic step from going blonde to brunette and Greta, who now works at Salon Bleu in Tyson's Galleria did an amazing job. I will give credit that Tony created my hybrid color, but Greta was the one who perfectly blended and colored my hair. When I came back for a touch up, Tony without me knowing changed my hair color, and ended up dying my blonde roots bronze. I basically had an unintentional ugly ombre. He tried to tell me when when it was dry, it would be all one color- not so much. After I told him this was unacceptable, Greta corrected my root color. I asked for a trim, which Tony proceeded to take off almost 2 inches of my hair. I paid Bottom line: Do not let him fool you with his lower than usual prices, because you get what you pay for. Go to Greta for color, and Salon Antoine in Fairfax, VA- they both are amazing, but NoVA pricey. read more

I purchased a Living Social deal for a Keratin Treatment and it did not come out well. I have this treatment done before and I was over the moon about it. Since having the treatment done it's as if absolutely no product was actually used. My hair is the same as it was before I walked in and spent all my money. Also I bought the special shampoo and conditioner that goes with the keratin treatment and I swear that the bottle of shampoo is a little bit of soap filled up with water. It comes out as loose as water and has no suds when I wash my hair. They were all friendly enough, but the place was a little on the dirty side and the receptionist was too young to know what she was doing. I will not be going back! read more

Came in on time for an appointment scheduled at 11 am, but there was only one woman working and she had just started cutting someone else's hair. I don't know if she double booked the appointment or what, but she asked me to come back in half an hour. I told her I had to be somewhere at 12 pm, but could come back at 12:30. She said that was fine. I came back at 12:30 and she was just finishing up with a client, but had another one waiting. She asked me to wait until she was done with the next client, even though I told her that I was now in a rush. She had no respect for the fact that I had chaged my entire schedule to work around this appointment, and had gone out of my way to come to this studio. Poor planning and poor customer service. I had an awful experience at Salon Tony this afternoon... bad enough that it inspired me to finally sign up for Yelp and write this review to give others a heads up. I made an appointment for a haircut and blowdry, not specifying a stylist since I was new to the place. I was thrilled when my stylist turned out to be Tony himself... but that excitement didn't last long. I was sent to shampoo before Tony ever glanced at my hair, and when I was led to his chair he mumbled an introduction and whipped out the scissors... I barely had time to insert a quick instruction to take just an inch off before he was flying. My haircut was literally done in 6 minutes, while Tony ignored me and spoke to the stylist and customer next to me. After the cut, he left me sitting with wet hair for 15 minutes, and eventually had an assistant come and step in with a blowdryer for a few minutes before he finally returned. He didn't ask me anything about how I like my hair styled and proceeded to blow it out a giant flippy disaster. When I told him I was disappointed and don't wear my hair that way, he responded that to fix it would take too long and that I should just come back later if I wasn't happy. I must echo other Yelpers in reviewing this establishment. After keeping me waiting for 15 minutes, the guy puts me in a chair and rushes through highlighting my hair. He continues to answer the phone. Since it was a nice day and I wanted to get back outside, I declined having my hair blown dry. I'm glad I did because I'm pretty sure he would have charged me. Before going, I had looked at their prices. When I went to pay and presented my Living Social coupon, the guy charged me more than what was posted on their website (and no, I do not have long hair nor any other reason why he should have charged me more). Unfortunately, since it's in Flash and I have an iphone, I was not able to render the website on my phone to show him. So I was stuck paying more. On top of this, my hair doesn't look that great. I went here yesterday and I will never go again. I have curly hair that I wear curly and do not straighten. Usually when I go to a salon the stylist will ask me if I wear it straight and if I want them to straighten it, which I always say no to. Well, evidently at this salon they do not ask, they just do it. By the time I realized what he was doing it was too late to ask him to stop and when he was finished I looked like I should have been anchoring a morning show! And to make it worse, now that I have washed it curly again, it's clear to me that he cut my hair assuming that I would always wear it straight, which is odd since I went in with very curly hair! The layers are way too short which is a problem since I wear my hair up quite a bit (and yes I told him that). And when it's down I look like I am wearing a pompom on my head. Never again. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this place... tony, michele and the whole staff are unmatched. I drive 30 mins each way just to come to this salon. From the start of scheduling an appointment (which by the way my last visit was Friday and they scheduled me after hours just because they are so wonderful), to actually walking in the door, and then the actual cut every minute of working with this place is worth it! They buy bottles of wine for their clients, they get to know each one, and there are only two of them, so they get to spend one on one time with you. Based on the reviews (the unfiltered ones!) I was a little leery about going to Salon Tony, but I had won free lowlights through a blog, so I figured there wasn't much to lose. I did have to wait 30 minutes for my appointment to begin, but you will find that at any salon, so it wasn't a deal breaker. The receptionist was very nice and kept checking on me and letting me know how much longer it would be. Roger did my lowlights and I couldn't have been more pleased. The color blended perfectly with my current color and was the exact "chocolate brown" I desired. Not to mention his blowout - it was like what you'd receive at a blowout bar! I was very impressed. The salon itself is small, and doesn't have the homey feel that my regular one does, but it does the job. Both the receptionist and the owner both came by to personally say goodbye when they left for the day, which I thought was awfully nice - something they didn't have to do. My only complaint about Salon Tony is that the shampoo is a little rough. I love my haircuts, & my teenage son also loves his haircuts. The parking is free & right in front of the building (although shared with an orthodontist). I was in desperate need of a haircut and came across this salon on the internet.I did some research on the salon and Tony and read that he was very experienced and skillful. I also liked that he was a Lebanese hairstylist- everyone knows that Lebanon is home to some of the finest hairdressers! I called the same day and requested Tony and thankfully they were able to accommodate me, likely because it was a week day evening. The salon itself is simple in decor and not very glamorous, however don't let that fool you, the secret is in the skillful hairdressers! Tony was very sweet, offering me a drink and some suggestions for my haircut. He did a wonderful job, giving me a clean trim with some cute layers that created wonderful volume! I have been a hair stylist for 17 years. I would like to give praise as to how nice this salon is. I have the most relaxing time at Tony's Salon. And my hair is always beautiful when I leave. Please Ignore the negative reviews. I will explain in detail below. Tony's Salon is very clean and nice. He has very nice people working there. I have been to the Salon many times. Each time has been a great experience. I have done the Brazilian Blowout and also the Keratin treatment for my hair. I trust Tony and his staff. You can tell he really cares about all his clients because even if he is not your hair stylist he still makes time to greet you and say bye before you leave. Like I said I have been a hair stylist for 17 years. It takes a lot of energy to keep a place up and running. I have also run many salons. So I understand the mechanics behind running an establishment. A salon has many aspects. This salon in particular has a system where a assistant helps by washing and blow drying your hair. Then you return to your stylist for everything else. If one stylist tried to do every little thing they would not be able to do as many haircuts, smoothing treatments, color/highlights or blow drying for the day. This Salon is set up this way to ensure that all clients are able to get there desired appointment. Not to mention keep the stylist energized. I can personally relate because I am also a super stylist and have done between 13-20 clients in one day. Without help it is absolutely draining. And Salon O Tony has a lot of clients. This is their reward for offering such great service. I have personally not had to wait for any of my appointments or been waiting for 30 minutes to be worked on. The reviewer who wrote they had to wait 30 minutes seems to be impatient. I know I have waited for Dr. Appointments, Nail appointments, waiting for a prescriptions to be filled and so on... Let be realistic. Have we all gotten so on the go that waiting a couple of minutes is that big of a deal? Read a book or a magazine. Enjoy the day. Take a load off, isn't that why we pamper ourselves with hair cuts and highlights, to look and feel good. Then what would be the purpose to try and rush a hair appointment. Wouldn't it be easier to plan your day to be open so that you could relax and enjoy having your hair washed, cut, colored, smoothed and blow dryed. As for Tony, being the owner he also has a lot of clients. I have watched him cut hair. He is an excellent stylist! He uses wonderful techniques and you can see he has mastered his craft. He has done a great job on my hair as well. Tony is a super stylist. He may see at least 13 to 20 clients in one day which is a lot for one day! The average hairstylist would take between 5-9 clients in one day. Taking more than 5-9 clients you would need to have extreme time management skills. Time management done right can only come with diligence and taking your craft to another level. It takes a creative heart to be a stylist. So to the reviewer who commented on him being distracted. Well, he may simply be doing visual checks to see all who are coming in the door to say hello or direct an assistant or stylist to make them feel at home. That is what any good owner does. If he does take a minute to walk over and say hello that just shows how close he is to all his clients. He actually cares that you came to his salon. He enjoys having you there. He has a wonderful heart. Even a former employee who did not have to write a review but choose to even said he cares about all his clients. To him everyone who comes to the salon is family. And if you are a busy person then plan to come on a weekday. I personally tried different salons on the weekend and have not been back on a weekend ever since. I feel this is more common knowledge though. I am pretty sure everyone knows weekends are busier... So I always choose a weekday. So from a client perspective, It is all how you look at the bigger picture. In addition, to stating this is a family friendly environment. I brought my mom to the Salon to get the Brazilian blowout after I had gotten mine done. I also brought my 7 year old daughter with me the last time I was there. She brought her kindle to watch movies on and a snack/juice, she was very content. The staff were very nice to her as well even checking to see if she needed anything. And of course Tony was chatting with her a little because he is an awesome person. And finally, Tony just did new renovations to make the place feel bigger and brighter. Overall I have only great things to say about this place. I could go on but I am sure you all get the picture. As a new costumer, I was looking forward to my experience at Salon Tony as it was close to work and home and the rates seemed to be cheaper than at my previous stylist. To put it simply- I was not pleased with my experience and I will not be returning to this salon. Roger was my stylist--- and needless to say, he is the sole reason I will not return to this salon OR recommend it to friends and family. I did not come in to Salon Tony for any crazy/out of the norm hair style, I just wanted a simple hair cut. Maybe it was because Roger was spending more time answering his phone than actually engaging with me as his customer- but he did not listen to any of my requests. I had to repeat myself multiple times to ensure he didn't completely ruin my usual hair style as it was clear he was just being rushed and careless. I bought a groupon for a haircut and hilights. I had the hilights with one of the female stylists who specializes in color... she did a great job, was warm and friendly, and did them exactly like I asked.... then was time for my haircut with Tony.... My experience was exactly like the other 3 reviews who rated it a 1. Tony was way overbooked, not friendly, way way too fast, CLEARLY didn't listen to me during the consult.... I could tell he wasn't listening to me at all so I continuted to say, "do not do not cut the side layers please, I want to grow them." He cut my hair so fast it hurt my scalp a few times, and he cut my side layers SO SHORT! It was clear his focus was doing my haircut his way and as fast as possible. He asked me how I liked it, and I told him I didn't like it, and he cut the part short that I asked him not to. He mumbled something about why they had to be cut. Clearly his communication is lacking. It took me months to grow my hair and be happy with it after getting a cut somewhere else. I will never never go back. Tony is AMAZING- I honestly don't know what the bad reviews below me are talking about. But then again, it is yelp. Tony is such a nice person and always gives me the most amazing experience. Him and his wife are one of the nicest, more polite people I know and always make me feel very comfortable. Some continuous experience I've had 1. Cut: Amazing, I trust him enough to tell him to do what he thinks is best, and it always works out. Side note, I have thick, curly hair and it's almost impossible to find someone to cut it the proper way and he always does an amazing job. He's the only person that I TRUST enough to let cut my hair, and he's been doing so for almost ten years (back when he used to work at salon daniel). 2. Highlight: Again, great. I'm not so hair savvy and I'll usually know what shade I'm going for and he'll pick out a specific one and decide which one will look best for me. He has a great eye for these things. 3. Keratin Express: He (with the help of his assistant) did a fantastic job. He knows I don't like too much chemicals on my hair so he recommended I go for that instead of the full keratin. I had a great experience at Salon Tony! George, a new stylist, did my hair.I was referred by a fellow nurse who goes to Tony and her hair looks great! So, my first visit, I walked in, and a very nice lady who was getting her hair colored, gave me a glass of water, and introduced me to the salon schedule. Turned out that she is the gorgeous wife of the stylist who would do my hair. They are newly weds! Both very dedicated to each other and Salon!! They both stayed long after 6:00 pm closing time to accommodate my late-in-the-day arrival. I did have to wait awhile, but I had the time, (and I did walk in late in the day on a Saturday). George was just finishing up work on a couple of clients, and they left the salon looking really good! I came in for a touch up on my roots and a shape up of my very frizzy, summer damaged hair. I thought I'd just get in and out of there. 3 1/2 hours later, I walked out with a cut, color, Brazilian blow out and highlights! Between George, and his associate, a very nice lady stylist from Morocco, my hair looked great, and it felt and looked healthy for the first time in 8 months. George is well trained and highly skilled. He actually listened to me and asked me what I thought I needed for my hair. Then he gave me his professional opinion. I quizzed him a lot and told him I was very particular about keeping the length and having a "wash a wear" style for my busy schedule. Then he went to work. He is very meticulous, and technically astute and has a very pleasant personality. The salon itself is clean, and designed for efficiency. Friendly staff, highly skilled stylists, good products, The only draw back is, one cannot be a in hurry at this salon. Don't expect to get in and out in 35 min. In spite of the laid back Mediterranean atmosphere, I will be going back on a regular basis and will tell all my friends. I highly recommend this place. read more

I just went for my first haircut at the Salon this morning, and I'm very pleased! The salon is a bit bare bones, but that didn't bother me. The shampoo/conditioner - head massage - was fantastic! I explained what I wanted and he had some suggestions as to what I would like better. In the end, he did what I asked, and made it fit my hair type and face shape. I love it! He did use techniques that made me a bit worried throughout the haircut. I had never seen someone cut my hair like that, but it's obvious he knows what he's doing! It is easy to trust him immediately, when you see how he works with scissors. The last time a had such a fantastic haircut and color was in a very upscale salon in Geneva. I've been going to Salon Tony for 8 (?) years and have never been disappointed! Tony is exceptional! He knows what he is doing with highlights and trims, and is very thoughtful. Rima, his wife, is kind (and dresses to kill!). Roger is fabulous, although he's never done my hair, I see the end result of others. I'm very comfortable there. Highly recommend! read more
