I thought great plenty of time in day still can get appointment, and right at 8 when closing I get a text that no nothing Sat would I like another day? WHAT?? I replied nicely no thank you but I think it deserves a 2 only because at least I got a reply but is that how you do business? However, I was hoping to eliminate the gold and brassy tones so I requested a cooler base color with contrasting highlights. The result looked great even when my hair was still wet. She did a wonderful job styling (I have some frizz) and my hair looked sleek and polished when she was done. The salon is cute and has a friendly feeling. Also, the chairs in the shampoo room are the most comfortable that I've experienced. Plus, after conditioning, she placed a pre-warmed towel on my head as a pampered touch. Delicia does exactly that--she is able to give me the right cut for my curl pattern, answers my questions truthfully, provides hair care tips, and has guided me on my hair growth. We have also played with colors/highlights to accentuate my natural color, done curly extensions, twists, blow outs, and she's supported me in learning fun ways to style my natural curls. She has also styled my hair for multiple special occasions (graduation photos, vacations, birthdays, etc.). Every time I come in, she asks me first what I'd like to do--I show her inspo photos and we talk about it, then we come to a game plan for the appointment together. As she works, she checks in and lets me know if we need to adjust the plan at all based on what she's seeing/experiencing. Before working with Delicia , I had strictly done free form locs for about 4 years and then started getting regular loc maintenance and styles from other clinicians . What I found when working with others is that they never took into account my active lifestyle as a sports performance coach and personal trainer, so it was very difficult for me to enjoy my re-twist as they would unravel the minute I needed to shower ( which is often ) . I addressed this dilemma with Delicia when I first met her and said "I need a technique that allows me to hop in the shower whenever I want , but allows me to keep the 'look' of newly twisted hair " . I was blown away by her twisting technique as I was literally able to do whatever I wanted physically without fear of my hair coming unraveled and I looked just as good following several showers .
