I am letting my silver grow out and after a great consultation Jim went to work, adding highlights and lowlights, doing all kind of magic, and gave me a fresh cut afterwards. I was super nervous of how my hair would turn out since this is not an easy transition for me going from medium brown to my now silver. My fears were unfounded and my hair turned out amazing! Jim blended the silver with my brown perfectly, and gave me a super flattering hair cut.

I started going to Uniquely You back in about 2003. I was introduced to an awesome lady named Olga, and she is amazing! Her personality is always bubbly even when she is running around like crazy, and her skills are phenomenal. When I first went to see Olga, I had long brown hair, and I was in the "DON"T CUT TOO MUCH OFF," portion of my life. Well we played with some color, and she convinced me to cut off the dead ends. I don't know what type of crazy magic this girl pulled, but by the end of that year I had hair up to my cheek bones that went from boring brown to a platinum paradise. Talk about bombshell. Between the two ladies I have gone to (April is listed in another review...) I never feel more beautiful than when I leave the chair of either one of these two ladies. I tell Olga all the time that she is a hair ninja. She comes up with crazy ideas that I never would have thought of, and I used to go to her and tell her to do whatever she pleased because I KNEW the results would come out fantastic, and what she determined looked awesome, looked much better than any of my plain ol ideas. Olga will tell you if a cut or color isn't right. She is creative, and will ask you if you are sure before any drastic changes. For the amazing work that she does, she should be charging much more than what she does...(but I'm of course, glad that she doesn't.) I moved to NC and I seriously just flew back into town to visit people and managed to squeeze in for an appointment with her. I have gone to a stylist here, but so far none have held a candle to either of my ladies. So to Olga, thank you for making me feel beautiful and for being so amazing at what you do. I made my appointment and was eager to have a new style. I was very specific with Erin (the manager and stylist who was cutting my hair) and showed her what I wanted. However, I ended up to the point of tears due to the horrible hair cut I received. It did not look like what I had asked for, she didn't listen to what I had to say about my hair, and it was an awful experience. She did apologize at the end, but neither the manager (Erin) nor the shop owner, who was there, bothered with anything besides, "I know your not happy with your haircut." Really? Now I'm stuck with an awful haircut until it grows out enough to get the layers blended without losing more length. I definitely do NOT recommend this salon!

For probably 15 years, Tammy Messina has cut my hair, and my brother's too, although not all at its present location. Salon Messina, run by Tammy and her sister, Rina, has moved around a bit over the years, but for the past four or five years they have been located off W Us Highway 22 (extension of Montgomery Road), just past the Landen Shopping Center. The current location, set on a large pond in Maineville, is definitely its best location, as it is really homey, cozy, and comfortable on the inside. Throw in the in the kindness, friendliness, and warmth provided Tammy, Rina, and the other hairstylist, Kathy, and you end up with a great experience at Salon Messina. The salon is located in an old house across from the Landen-Deerfield Park, and while most of their business is hair, they are set up to do offer other services such as nails. It doesn't matter who is cutting your hair or greeting you at the reception desk because everyone that works at Salon Messina knows who you are and treats you like a friend (not a client). They always offer a complimentary Coke product or cup of coffee when you walk in the door too. I will say that they aren't always running on time (yet neither am I with Montgomery Road traffic), but that's because they spend ample time working on your hair and making sure you are satisfied with the end product. It isn't glitzy or anything, but if you want a comfortable atmosphere and a friendly, reliable, and experienced person working on your hair instead, Salon Messina can and will offer you all of that at affordable prices.

I showed her a picture of what I wanted done ( a hairstyle I had had in the past) and to match my roots that were growing out. She took it upon herself to lighten my roots which only made it look like I needed my roots done. She refused to cut my hair the shorter length I requested. When she reluctantly waxed my eyebrows the right had no arch where the left was overly arched. I told her about my disappointed with all services and the way I had been treated and that my services needed to be corrected. This was her direct quote " how about I just doby charge you and you never come back" I agreed and asked to speak with her supervisor she told me the receptionist was her supervisor. When I asked to speak with the owner she said the owner would call me on. Monday. I spoke to the owner the following morning who stated both that the stylist never said the above quote and then threatened to call the police over the bill. After the owner continued screaming at me that my hair was fine. I reminded her she wasn't at the salon and didn't see the damage. I offered to send her pictures of what her stylist did and she refused. The call ended with her screaming louder at me repeating what her stylist said.." don t pay and don't come back.as she continued screaming insults I ended the call...enough said.
