HUGE MISTAKE. I thought I had found my place - I was so excited by the fun color work on their website and loved the salon atmosphere. The first red flag (that I ignored) was that the stylist refused to provide any kind of estimate for time or cost. I trusted her and the process and now, just returning from my fourth visit and more than a thousand dollars lighter, I wish I had never set foot in Salon Piper Glen. I was very upset after my last visit but because we ran out of time and the stylist was working on another client already, I decided to wait until my next visit to address my concerns. Rather than providing a solution, the stylist had two answers: 1) I was my fault for not speaking up in front of her client or calling the next day and when I mentioned that the lavender color I asked for was not applied to the proper places, or really applied at all... 2) it would've washed out anyway Which is NOT the point. The point was that it was never applied to my hair to begin with. There are so many ways she could've handled things to salvage the relationship or at least so I wasn't furious when I left, but rather than saying "this is what I can do for you today to fix it, would that work?" When I told her my budget she just shrugged and then charged me full price for a haircut and let me walk out the door in tears. At one point, I even said, if I were you, I would've at least offered to tone my hair and reapply some of color I asked for (again, not for free, but within the budget I was willing to spend today). But it just came back to how it was all my fault and how the color would've washed out (had it ever been applied). Reddit told me to go to Bishops. I wish I had listened. I hate confrontation and should've just not returned. Instead I had the most uncomfortable, miserable, depressing hair appointment of my life. BUYER BEWARE! read more

Unless you are a regular for several years then I would not recommend because you will never get an appointment and once you do they will cancel it while you are on your way driving there and stuck in traffic after you've waited over a month just to get a hair cut. read more

I had a GREAT experience here! I'm always super nervous to try new hair places but I found this one on Instagram and was excited to see what all the hype was about. Dani is AMAZING and honestly one of the most impressive stylists I have ever gone to. She created the perfect blonde for me, and really listened to what I wanted. She exceeded all my expectations!!! Yikes, thought I had found a gem, but after my most recent interaction I am sad that this was not the case. After several successful visits I referred a family member who wanted something special for their sweet 16. After the first visit, it was noted that she did not get what she asked for and a repair was requested. We were charged again for a second visit, which could not be accommodated until much later. After paying over $500 and still not getting what was requested for the family member it just didn't feel right going back for my service... When I cancelled my standing appointment I decided to speak to the manager, Karen, so that I could be clear about our discontent after having such positive experiences prior. Karen was dismissive over the fact that her hair was not as requested after two visits. Karen stated that she had instructed the stylist not to do what was asked, and that it would take several visits and a large amount of money to get the results she was looking for--- this was not communicated to me prior when I made the appointments or came in to pay. Notably, after many requests and stating that we had budget as necessary to get the desired outcome, Karen still refused to provide me with an estimate of the number of needed visits or total estimated cost. Instead, Karen told me that if I "cared that much I should have stayed for both of her appointments". On a whim, while visiting the Trader Joe's next door, I stopped in and got an appointment with Bella. Honestly, based on my bad experiences in the Charlotte area over the past five years, I wasn't expecting much. But Bella is AMAZING! Hair came out to a natural wavy look instead of curly after I showered and combed (with a wide tooth) which is what I was aiming for. Hopefully it stays that way. I went to this salon for the first time today for a partial highlights. When I initially made my appointment, I asked what the price would be. I was told between $89-$109, depending on the stylist. Being told that, that is what I expected to pay. My stylist Avery was fine, but I walked out with my hair looking like nothing special. I had showed her two pictures of the color I was looking for. The highlights came out extremely blonder than the photos. She then had me sit for 30 more minutes with toner in my hair to darken the color. It ended up looking nothing like the photos, but at that point, I was ready to go home and there was nothing more to do. I went to check out, and my bill was $140. When I asked why so expensive, and told the girl at the desk what I had been told over the phone as far as pricing, she told me that the stylist had to use more product and I was charged for that additional product. I never asked for any additional product, I only asked for the color that was in the photo. If that color wasn't achievable, I should have been told at the start of my appointment. The girl at the desk did nothing to try and resolve my dissatisfaction with the price, and gave no additional explanation. In the end, my hair doesn't really look any different from when I walked in, and I paid about $40-$50 more than I had anticipated, not including tip. I will certainly not be back. read more

My stylist was Lauren, and I ADORE her. She is super personable and connects well with clients. I'm a very simple person and so is my style. She understood that immediately and suggested & executed a no-fuss hairstyle that I loved. They also incentivize first-time customers with a sizable discount, and do the same for a couple of follow-up appointments. Prices are fairly low, considering that you're getting really high quality and service from the staff. Less than I expected for a shampoo/cut. If you have been settling for unsatisfactory hairstyles because you're intimidated by a big salon, break up with Great Clips and give Salon Piper Glen a try. Happened to be at trader joes and saw this salon, read reviews and decided to give it a try. I had Onie as a stylist and I just loved him. He is younger, stylish and such a nice person! They give you a $25 gift card to use on your second visit and a goody bag when you leave! I already have another appointment for color. In my search to find a new stylist since mine moved out of town, I came across Salon Piper Glen. I have curly hair that can be dry and frizzy, so it always helps to have a stylist who is familiar with my hair type. I suppose that's true for all hair types. Shannon has now cut and styled my hair 3 times. She is always attentive, has great hair tips, and introduces me to new products or products she loves for my hair type. I went there by recommendation and paid $50 for a 30$ haircut. The styling was terrible. It was a straight 10 minute haircut. The hair was simply blow dried. Honestly, just the way I do it at home. I couldn't tell a difference if I did it. The product knowledge of different hair products is very poor. My hair didn't feel or looked better going out of this place. I might would have felt better paying 30$ for it. This is pretty much the value of this haircut. I walked out very disappointed. I get the same haircut and style for years. You really can't do anything wrong. I used to get the same service for $35 and always felt great about the hairstyle. This place is really disappointing and I will never return.
