I absolutely love this salon. It's beautiful inside and extremely homey. I've been seeing Becky for what seems like forever. She's exceeded in all my colors I've wanted and also all my haircuts. read more

It's been a long time since moving to PA until I found a salon where I felt like part of the family, and I feel that way here. Staff is helpful and so welcoming and friendly and I can never say enough about how happy I am with Becky and her expertise styling, cutting and taking care of my hair. I couldn't be happier and would recommend Salon Nochea ( and Becky) to anyone. Judy Forman read more

I'm new to the area and really needed my hair cut. I had heard that a few people from neighboring business used this salon. So I gave it a try. It was a little weird walking in, as the salon is a converted home. But, you quickly get used to the place. It has character. The receptionist is very nice. So, I met Rachel, my stylist. She was bright and cheery. We talked about what was going on with my hair, and she understood immediately. She laid out a plan of attack, and went to work. She is a great conversationalist, and a talented stylist. She gave me a great hair cut. The proof is in the pudding, and I scheduled my return visit for 3 weeks later. The price was very competitive at $22 for a man's cut. read more

Incredibly convenient times if operation, always swift availabilites, talented and sweet staff, classy decor, new equipment, refreshments always freely provided, and just an all over wonderful experience. They offer hair cuts, trims, manicures, pedicures, hair dye and treatment, and a variety of upscale but reasonably priced beauty products. Best salon ever! Everyone there is great, but I love Jenn G the best of all! read more

Had my first manicure/pedicure here earlier this evening, and I will definitely be back! Candy did my gel manicure and walked me through the whole process of upkeep (I'm terrible at making cosmetic appointments due to my work schedule, so I wanted to make sure the nails wouldn't be too high maintenance). Angela did my pedicure and for the first time in about 2 years my feet are nice and smooth Both ladies did excellent work and were super friendly and accommodating! read more

I came in to Salon Nochea as a referral from a friend of mine who has fabulous hair, and I was looking to get a color correction. Megan was absolutely amazing and not only fixed my color but literally made my hair look EXACTLY how I wanted it to look based on pictures I showed her. She was superb honest about the process and what needed to happen to get the look I wanted and she did such a fabulous job! Highly recommend!!!!!! read more

It was the WORST color job I have ever had in my life!! Literally was orange, then tried to fix, turned gray/green, then I finally walked out and had to get it fixed at another salon!! I wouldn't let her try to "fix" it again. Owner was no help either. RUN from this place. read more

Lovely hairdresser who really listened to me and followed through with the final result. This place was pricier than I'm used to -- with like $50 coupon off, a cut, color, conditioner, blowout came to $122. Still, it is a very nice place, with a wonderful staff (visit Megan!) who accommodated all my crazy hair care wishes, and she really did a fantastic job with each step of the process. If between a hundred and two hundred sounds right for your budget, I highly recommend coming here. You'll definitely get your money's worth. Side note: get the conditioning treatment. My hair is incredibly soft and shiny. I feel like a movie star. :) read more

I went for my first time with a Groupon and will DEFINITELY be back! If you are getting a Groupon for here...get a consult!! I'm so glad I did. I would have bought the wrong one and been disappointed. Jen N did my roots, highlights and cut. It looks awesome! She talked with me when I went for the consult about what I wanted to have the end result be. She was up front about the additional costs for my roots (Groupon was for the hightlights). There was a possibility of needing toner, which she told me. When I went to get my hair done, the week after the consult, she remembered what we had talked about for my hair, which impressed me. While I was there, I got my eyebrows done by Angela. It was closing time, but she fit me in when Jen was done with me. Hair looks great, eyebrows are cleaned up and I am one happy customer! read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to Angela who fit me in for a much needed last minute massage today! She was amazing & I would highly recommend her! I will definitely be back! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Jen N and I couldn't be happier with her work. I have curly/wavy long hair and she helped me chop most of it off!! I love her knowledge of curly hair and understanding exactly what I was looking for in my end result. I highly recommend this wonderfully talented women. She does color, styling, and extensions to boot! Truly a well rounded hairstylist. read more

Love love LOVE my hair. Sammy was fantastic. The staff was friendly. I used a groupon which entailed color, cut, style, co conditioning treatment and blow dry and was not disappointed. Sammy was incredibly efficient and knew how to deal with my thicker hair. After my appointment she gave me coupons for my next visit. read more

Great place. Have been going here for the majority of my life. Have tried other places and realized that nothing has come close

You honestly would be better at a cheap chain like the hair cuttery, since the stylists at nochea seem to have even less training. I went there the week of my senior portraits to get my bangs cleaned up and I specifically told the stylist (literally the only stylist in the building at the time) to keep my bangs long. INSTEAD she cuts off half of my bangs, leaving them stumps and ruining my senior portrait. My friends was also very disappointed with their prom styling. She went both times and they did not deliver the updo she wanted. read more

I have only been to the salon for waxing and I was clean and quick with now waiting! Great service!

Very nice & friendly staff! They were very meticulous with my manicure & pedicure. The nail polish color selection was great! I highly recommend. read more

I had a similar experience to another reviewer although I was not charged an additional cost. I think some of the staff is more interested in their own lives and talking about themselves than your hair. The person who did my highlights did the exact same thing as with Pearl A. below - Dark hair overly highlighted then covered up. Ugh.. and all that bleach, dye, whatever is not good for your hair at all. Wish they would have listened and just got it right the first time. There are a lot of stylists working there and I'm sure some are excellent but be very specific about what you want and eliminate any small talk unless it's about you and your hair and hopefully you''ll get what you ask for. Bring a picture if you're looking for a new style and even a picture of the the color or highlights you're looking for. That might help. read more

I had a cut and color by Dawn and it came out amazing. She instilled confidence in me that she had an amazing eye for color and knew what would work best for me. I will definitely be going back! read more

I've been going here for years. Always a great experience. The services I've had .....mani, pedi, facial and various waxings . My facial with Angela....in one word.....heaven....she's very professional and informative. Loretta always makes me comfortable.....even while ripping out hair....that's an accomplishment. And Candy's mani, pedis....top notch! I'm a forever client. Everyone else I've seen also does awesome work....I'm just not good with names.... Always relaxing and the results always beautiful no matter who you see. If you're looking for your "new" place.......def try here.....you won't be disappointed. read more

I have been coming to Salon Nochea for over 10 years to see Jen Guadio. Every single time she has cut my hair, dyed my hair and talked me out of chopping my hair off again on multiple occasions (as I told her not to let me do it because I usually regret it after) She has always done what I've asked and to a great detail! Always has her flat iron ready for me when I come in. I love the staff as well, they are so friendly and really welcome you in. Fantastic salon. read more

Just had my 2nd best haircut of all time by Lauren, who also cut my my 1st one! I have curly, thick hair and Lauren did exactly what I was looking for. She listens to what you want and just knows what she is doing! Can't wait for my color and highlights appointments. Thank you read more

While I had a very upbeat and friendly stylist I did not love my experience here. The space is residential home turned salon. It felt cramped and I had to move multiple times while waiting for my treatment to sit in order to accommodate other clients also needing my spot (e.g. washing sinks). Noted my appointment was a Saturday morning so I cannot say if it is usually this crowded at not peak times. At checkout the women started to make some racial assumptions and pressured me into joining her unrelated essential oil business. I felt rushed and would not go back. read more

I've been a client of Megan's at Salon Nochea for years -- and I highly recommend her. I go to Megan for acrylic nail refills, pedicures -- which she's terrific at. However, Megan really shines when it comes to coloring and cutting my hair! I'm extremely particular about how I want my hair to look and who I trust to cut it. I walked in with hair to my waist, trusting Megan to do something updated & fabulous with it. She did not disappoint! I receive lots of compliments on the look she created -- and I always tell people "Go see Megan at Salon Nochea; she's excellent!" The rest of the staff is awesome as well -- from Rosemary at Reception who provides great customer service -- to all the Stylists and Nail Professionals -- Joanne has cultivated the best Team. Welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly and professional -- give them a call! read more

I had one of the best haircuts, and hands down, the worst haircut I've ever had here...I'm not super-demanding, and provide pretty clear expectations, pictures, etc. Like some other commenters mentioned, the second time I went, it was incredibly busy, and I can't help but wonder if the stylist was more concerned with conversing and all the goings-on instead of paying attention to the cut. The back was uneven, and it was just a mess. The worst cut was also before an important event, so it kinda made the situation even worse. People actually made comments. I gave them another shot, but wasn't very impressed, so I'm moving on. I think they knew I was unhappy and unlikely to return, so they weren't very accommodating or willing to make sure I left happy. read more

The place is friendly and I was happy with the end result (highlights and hair cut). I asked for subtle highlights (dark caramel to blend with my black hair). However, when I was first shown the color, it was too bright and not what I wanted. I asked why it happened and was told that addition of excess bleach to the mix preparedcould cause this. I was unhappy and asked them to make it more subtle...However, to my shock, I was charged an extra $50.00 for the toner! I dont think it is fair that when a customer was not provided what was asked; the customer has to bear the brunt of it. I was so happy when I bought the highlights and hair cut deal on groupon. Unfortunately, I was ripped off by paying an extra $50.00 for the toner. So, be careful of what is done and how much of extra money you will have to pay. read more

Had an amazing cut by Dawn today! I've heard of the DevaCurl system before, but haven't tried it on my curly hair. Dawn did a Deva Cut and introduced me to the products and how to use them and my hair has never looked better! I appreciated the attention she took on my cut and was so impressed in the quality of the salon. I felt so relaxed and pampered, and they are so open to having customers call with styling questions or if have them come back in if something isn't right with the cut. That kind of customer service is rare to find in a salon so I will definitely be going back! read more

I've been to Salon Nochea since I was in middle school! They've always come through my school dances, weddings I've been in, make up, hair--anything. Rachel S. Is the BEST. I once lived 5 hours away and would drive up to make sure she could do more hair. She's phenomenal, it's like visiting a friend and leaving with great hair. Make an apt, you'll love it here!! read more

I bought a groupon for cut, full highlights, and conditioning treatment. The only restriction stated on the groupon was that it was for new clients. Rosemary answered the phone and as soon as she heard that it was a groupon I felt like I was being treated differently. She stated that I could only see one selected stylist that was new to the salon. (not stated on groupon!). So I called back a week later to make an appointment with that stylist. I tried to make the appt. on a Friday or a Saturday. Rosemary told me that Jen was not accepting groupon appointments on Saturdays and she leaves at 2:00 on Fridays. This was not stated on groupon either. I feel very frustrated with Salon Nochea for not stating these restrictions on their groupon. They lost a potential new client. read more

I just had my hair cut and highlighted as part of a Groupon package. I think I had passed this place a thousand times, but never realized it was there until I read the Groupon offer. To be honest, I was worried that since I purchased as a Groupon they would rush through to get me in and out. However, Claire spent a good amount of time working with me to determine what I wanted and what would be best for my face shape and coloring. This was huge for me, as I had avoided having my hair cut or colored for years in fear that it would not be what I really wanted. The atmosphere was friendly and I left feeling like I had know the women there for ages! I am definitely planning to go back for my future cuts and color!. read more

I wanted to write a good review but the mani/pedi experience was below standard and I feel potential customers have a right to know. Everyone was friendly, too friendly? Too much talk, not enough time listening, loud, unprofessional demeanor. The mani person was trying hard, rushing, trying to accommodate multiple customers at once. Really? This was NOT a relaxed experience. Unlike their website, this place is not clean, nail clippings on the floor, general disarray. To top it off, nails were erroneously put under heat dry rather than cool dry so needed to return after ruining my nails seconds after leaving. This brought my 1 1/2 hr experience to 2 hours and made me late fir work. Wanted to return as nail person has great skills but she's too busy and disorganized to do things correctly. Not hygienic, didn't receive box of tools as website review says. Feel others need to be informed, as does the owner who accepted but didn't really want feedback, as she was consumed with concerns about a bad review. I didn't review the salon for a couple of weeks as felt dissuaded but I just think its unfair to unsuspecting consumers. If they clean up their act, the woman who does the mani/pedi slows down, listens, it could have potential. But right now, it's not good at all. read more

I was very happy with the whole experience. I was looking for a new place to get my hair cut because I had just moved to the area and my much loved hair stylist of 5 years was many hours away. I came on quite a busy day but did not have to wait at all. My stylist listened eagerly to everything I had to say about what I wanted done with my hair and checked in with me multiple times through out the cut to make sure she was doing what I had in mind. She was extremely friendly and pleasant to talk with, as well. I am on the shy side and don't usually feel comfortable just talking aimlessly with people. But this woman had a talent for both hair and easing me into conversation. That is a true gift. In the end, she did what I wanted with my hair but not quite the way my old stylist used to. She put her own spin on it and, although I loved the way my old stylist used to cut my hair, I thought this slightly new spin on my hair looked amazing. I can't wait to try some of the other services offered here. read more
