I searched for a salon near me and then went straight to the reviews. What really stood out to me was how consistent the service was and how quick and kind the staff was. With summer coming up, I wanted short hair, some layers, and to call it a day - nothing too complicated, and nothing that was going to take hours sitting in a chair and costing me a lot. I love how when you go to book a service, there's an estimate time to the service. When I got there, I explained to Barb (my stylist) that I had an "ok" experience somewhere else but they didn't really listen to what I wanted. She got what I wanted, spot on, AND I was in an out in less than 30 minutes. Barb used the best products in my hair and was all around sweet and a master at her craft. I used to work for this dying company! The company SUCKS at best! We've complained about the new leader that was hired.... NEVER did anything about her. She was hired in June of 24, 4 stylists left by January. What does that tell you! If I could give Hair Cuttery -0 stars I would! If you're looking for a great place to work... it's NOT The Hair Cuttery! They DO NOT CARE about the stylists!!! If you looking to make 50% commission, hahaha.... you better bring in $2000 a week. That will be hard to do since the company has gone down hill. They keep upping their prices just to "try" and make a profit. Go look at the HC website. Just in PA there are over 60 stylists wanted for hire ! If the company is so great, why can't they get anyone to work there? I'm sorry, I ever wasted my time working for this company! I dunno. I don't know. Should I rip them a new one? Or should I go easy on a 22-year-old fresh-outta (4 years outta) hair school (Vo-tech?) She was/is a sweetheart. My hair is wearable. I got charged $72 for a single process color (with blow dry included - thank g-d). She never pulled the color through. She only did my roots. Yes, I mentioned 2 or 3 or 4 times to focus on my roots, and she got 'em all but my faded out highlights are now brassier looking than ever. I will fix it myself, but - hey Hair Cuttery - you got ONE SHOT with me. You blew it. Also - I had an appointment at 5:30, I called to see if I could come earlier and YES!!! The took me right at 4:45. The place was empty with 3 stylists. 2 of them were young - my 22 year old and another gal. I heard one of them tell a lady to go "walk around the shopping center" for 40 minutes - but 2 of these ladies were FREE. (Perhaps they had other clients on the books?)) NOPE! The place was dead as a doornail. BAD PRACTICES ALL OVER THE PLACE. Most are forgivable. Some are not. Hair Cuttery Corporate: Please intervene. You charge $72 ($87 I paid with a $15 tip) for a single process. This was NOT a single process color. This was an overpriced root-touch up. Please, make it right. read more

Any swinging dick who knows how to use a clippers would be able to take care of it in 10 minutes. Amanda is fantastic. She's extremely competent and gives a great haircut every time, no matter what style you're looking for. She's very conscientious and makes sure you're 100% happy with your haircut. I really like the fact that you can make an appointment. (I've never had to wait more than a few minutes.) Many salons don't take appointments anymore but have a "check in online" policy. In my experience this translates into long wait times. read more

I've been coming here for years to get my hair cut and never really have a bad experience. I've probably had almost everybody here cut my hair and it always turns out well. The staff is very friendly and I've never had a problem with any of them. The cost is not that bad and it includes a wash and dry which other places actually charge extra for. I will definitely continue to come here as long as the prices stay the same and they don't change much of the staff. *EDIT* well it seems that a lot of the above has changed. Let me warn you, do not get Larry as a stylist. He will cut your hair the way HE wants it and not the way you want it. He will then not give you a 360 degree view to check it out and will end the session when he feels it's completed. He's done this a few times to me and I aways dread when he's the only stylist available to take my cut. Others will hear what you have to say and attempt to do what you want but most recently I just wanted a trim around the sides to stop the hair growing over my ears and almost ended up with a buzz cut. The only stylist I'll recommend here is Candace. She seems to really ask what you want and does it. She's the master stylist there and really tries to ensure her customers walk away happy. The rest of them are either hit or miss though. read more

I have always had a good haircut never had a experience always got what I wanted I love the friendly staff I have had every stylist from cadence , Olga,, April, Clair , Karen or my favorite Melissa who takes what I tell her then makes it 10 times better than what I have described . Worst place ever for a haircut. Needed to find a new place that is closer than the place I regularly go to and decided to give this place a try. BIG MISTAKE! The girl that cut my hair was terrible. She use clippers like she was mowing a lawn with a lawnmower. Omg she had no skills whatsoever ever. I ask for 1inch off my hair all around I ended up with like an army hair cut. Even if the hair cut was terrible I can not get over how fast and uneven her hands were with a clipper. Never in my life seen someone work so unprofessionally on a persons head using clippers. She literally used it as if she was mowing a lawn fast, undecisive and no shit given. She must have cut sheeps for wool in her past job is the closest thing I can relate to her skill (or lack of skill). I was upset but still gave her a good tip because it's the pandemic and everyone needs a break but still hella upset I literally got mowed down! Would never go here again except for sending my pets for a groom. Watch out! read more

Every time I've gone here for a haircut, I've never gotten exactly what I wanted. My hair always comes out too choppy looking, and the ends aren't always cut straight. I agree with the previous reviewer that your experience there depends on who your stylist is. It's ok for a quick, cheap haircut, but it's not great. read more
