Worst hair experience. Went in for blonde hair with no red color correction and got dark brown hair with no blonde, and they charged me almost 300. Then they put a 60 hold on my debit card for 4 days. Went back for cor correction and still came out with dark hair, no blonde! They refused to take blame for any of it. I have been coming to this salon (when it was EB salon) since 2016 and while it's a little out of the way for me, I always find myself returning to Donna because I can find no worthy alternative. I have dark and thick Asian hair which seems to baffle lots of stylists and colorists. But Donna is always able to find for me a style/cut that looks good, is low maintenance, and stays good-looking for months. I've also done balayage a few times here and have been so happy with the results - this is after several failed attempt to introduce any semblance of color into my very dark hair in 2 high-end salon in Philly. I agree with the previous reviewer - a good cut but very expensive. I went there for almost 18 months and saw Liz. She provided excellent coloring, however, several times I left with color stains on my face! The one time I did say something, they handed ME the bottle of solution and a cotton ball to take it off myself. Very unprofessional. I always made appointments for eyebrow & lip waxing, but then was made to feel like it was an imposition when I asked for waxing. As far as the curly specialists (and I am curly), it is more marketing than substance. read more

My mom recommended I go to EB Salon for a haircut because their prices are much more reasonable than my previous salon, and I'm so glad I did! The salon receptionist is super friendly and I was very appreciative that she was willing and able to accommodate my last-minute request for an appointment. Love EB&A! Newer to the area, I've always hesitant to try out a new salon but I have to say I am extremely impressed with EB&A. Everyone is super friendly and professional. Both locations are very stylish and clean. They use fantastic, high quality products and the stylist are all very knowledgeable. I appreciate that as a first time client the front desk staff asked me questions about my hair to ensure I was suited with the best possible stylist. I've had 2 blow outs with 2 different stylists and have loved each one! I Have an upcoming apt in a few weeks and am looking forward to it. Will definitely be coming in more frequently read more

I switched over to this salon because it was close, fairly easy to get an appointment with having two locations, and had a good reputation. My gripe isn't totally with the professionalism or my stylist per se, but when I told my stylist, after the second time I had color put in and spent over $250, that the color seems to wash out in a couple weeks, she told me it was my water and suggested I put some kind of water treatment thing on my shower head. So not only do I spend tons of money on their B&B products to keep the color, but now I need a water purification system? Perhaps it's the products they use. Not everyone's hair is the same. If I said it wasn't holding the color, maybe try a different brand? I can't afford to keep going there and watch my money wash down the drain. read more

This salon knows how to handle themselves. Started with a phone call and ended with a lovely payment for their service. I was in town for a wedding, being from somewhere else , I had no idea who to go to for an updo. I had called 4 other local salons, to no avail. All were swamped. [Darn that little event called prom! :-). ] I got the name of this salon from one of the local shop owners. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant and clearly knew what she was doing and more importantly in sync with the salon. She didn't say no off the bat- she did say the salon was very busy and what was I looking for? How long is my hair? And can you hold a moment? Let me see if I see if someone is available. Lindsay was available. And let me tell you- she knows how to get your hair into an updo! Please see the attached photo. My hair - there's a lot, but it's fine. I brought a decorative hair clip to install, and that just made the whole look come together. Lindsay has a natural aptitude for updos that showed in her ability to tame my hair -without once pulling my hair. I think she also used a quarter of the bobby pins prior hairdressers used. As I was leaving, I had left a tip for Lindsay on her chair- she brought it back to me cause she thought I had left it in error. She didn't want to assume that it was for her. She earned every bit of the tip and I was happy to leave it. My updo was $55 which is right around the going rate for every updo I've had in the last 5 years. Worth every penny. I Would absolutely recommend this salon. The whole group of hairdressers seemed to be listening to their clients and doing great hair. Thank you to the salon. Tracy is simply amazing. I've been wanting to transition from light brunette to blonde for my wedding later this year and I had some trouble finding a stylist who was willing to take this on (and I know it's challenging). I met with Tracy for about 15 minutes to discuss the proposed technique, then felt confident enough to book an appt. a week later. It took a lot of time and attention, and a few different procedures were executed to give me the results we'd discussed. Tracy gave me the EXACT look I had been hoping to achieve and then some. At KOP mall today, at least four people complimented my hair color. I could not be happier, and I'm so thrilled that the vision I've had for my wedding will actually be realized. I also have to comment on price, which I've seen a few reviewers note. Despite multiple techniques, various products, 5 hours of work, and a full blowout, I still paid less than I would have for a color, cut, and blowout at your average Manhattan salon. Prices seem appropriate and my total was certainly commensurate with the amount of work done. The salon was very busy with lots of repeat, happy customers, and the space is clean and comfortable. i have to thank Tracy again for her amazing work, attention to detail, and the skills she used to deliver a wonderful product. Jaime is the best! I have soft, fine, super curly hair and have always had a terrible time finding a stylist that does a decent job cutting it. I would typically end up with some amorphous, too short, puffy mess. I even resorted to cutting it myself for years because I was so disgusted with the cuts that I had received at a number of salons, many of which were considered "high end." I found EB Salon and Jaime on a curly-hair forum online and I haven't looked back since! I've been going there for a few years now and Jaime is incredibly knowledgeable about curly hair. She gives me a fantastic cut and is extremely sweet and friendly to boot. All of the other staff that I have dealt with have also been very pleasant. I have nothing but good things to say about this salon and Jaime specifically. The salon is clean and I feel that the pricing is right in line with the quality of the services provided. This salon has been a lifesaver to me, it is the first time I have had someone cut my hair who understands how to cut curly hair! I recommend it to everyone I know. The upgrades they made in the past year have been huge too, the chairs at the dryers were so uncomfortable and now there are great leather chairs, seems like something little but it made a huge difference. I think the staff who work the desk are awesome and helpful, I love the products they recommend, and Jamie is really the best stylist, even my husband can't go anywhere else now that he has experienced EB Salon! (A former Hair Cuttery guy!) Its also so helpful that there are several different levels of stylists so you can choose the price category you need to be in. My hair has never looked better. I have never been to a salon where all the girls are so knowledgable about curly hair! My hair is curly and frizzy and the way they cut it makes it smooth and manageable! Today I got a new -non toxic smoothing treatment done similar to a Brazilian blowout. I could not believe my hair could look so good. Liz (owner) and the rest of the girls made me so comfortable and were all so fun to talk to. Not to mention -when I left and got my eyebrows threaded down the street the woman was telling me how beautiful my hair looked and asking how I got it so shiny! I love going to EB to get my hair done but also just to hang out and relax, since everyone is so nice there! It's definitely good "me" time -- especially because they offer you wine or beer when you come in for your appointment ;) I usually see Jen, but I have also seen Lindsay, Brittany, Donna and Gina. All the stylists here are awesome. They KNOW hair. Jen recently took my hair from light, light blonde to RED and did an amazing job. I don't find their prices much different from other high end salons in the area. Highly recommend! read more

This response from the salon is absurd. My review was not in retaliation of anything. The owner, Elizabeth attempted to color my hair from black to blonde. The next day my hair began breaking off in the shower. It continued to break in the following days and I called the salon twice to ask for advice. I never received a return call. Now, instead of my horrible experience being validated and maybe even receiving an apology, I am being accused of lying. Shame on you. read more

Jen is my stylist and does a great job on my color and style. She also talks to me and is interested in what I have to say, this is very refreshing. I have left stylists in the past because they did not talk the whole session. Unfortunately I do not think I will be able to stay with her due to the recent price increases. It cost me 335 dollars my last visit for a high light,roots done and minimal reshaping because I am letting my hair grow. I recently found out that they charge 39 dollars to blow dry my hair. I feel that a professional salon should blow dry your hair as part of the styling price and not allow a client to blow dry their own hair or walk out the door with wet hair, nor charge you 39 dollars to do it. I do like the the glass of water in a beautiful glass that they offer you and the biscotti. 245 plus tip is way too much and I think that they have made a mistake in raising already high prices. read more

Have been seeing Donna for color and cut for over a year. Best that I have received in a long time! The stylists are different "levels" and cost, but do not think the higher cost stylists are any better. Color cost is right on, and cut may be a little high, but I am thrilled. Only complaint is that color only does not include a blow dry. My hair is longer, so I get it colored more often than cut. A little inconvenient to blow dry my own hair. I would think they would want to do it to check color! read more

The salon owner, Liz, expects excellence in every aspect of how the salon is run. I get text message appointment reminders the day before my appointment. I paid over $250 to have my hair done (low lights) but they washed out within 2 weeks (I wash my hair twice a week). I went to another place and they told me because I have light hair it was more porous and lowlights essentially stain the hair that my hair wouldn't hold onto to color as long as lightening does. I would not have paid the amount of money or wasted time on doing this if I felt like the process was explained to me better at EB. In all honesty I can't even tell you what she did to my hair besides add lowlights because even during a consult I felt there was a lack of explanation/game plan. She told me that we probably wouldn't be achieving the photo example I had wanted in one shot which I accepted, but what was I supposed to do, come back every two weeks to have something redone completely each time it washed out? My mom went back to the place later (for my sisters hair to be done) and mentioned that my lowlights had washed out already and told my colorist and she told my mother that was impossible... (she LIED to my mom's face). It doesn't take a professional hair stylist to know hair color fades. Long story short, were not happy with this place and not returning. Very pricey and it'll be a complete mystery what is happening to your hair!!! read more

I am not typically moved to post a review online so this is really out of character for me. With that said I have been looking for a salon in the suburbs for the last two years where I felt comfortable and also with stylists that could help me to realize my hair vision. I have spent a lot of time and money only to leave really disappointed with my end hair result. Needless to say that didn't leave me feeling hopeful about finding a salon that understood where I wanted to go and how to get me there. A good friend works at Elizabeth Benke salon at Blueberry Hill and was kind enough to get me in with Laura. Right away we were on the fast track to healthy and beautiful hair and Laura took artistic liscence but was clear about what my hair could realistically do. I have been to see Laura twice and this last visit I was with Krystal who read Laura's notes about my hair and listened to me about what small things I wanted to change moving forward. Between the two of these stylists I feel great about my hair. It is healthy and growing again. The color is a dark brown to ash blonde bayalage that I wanted for the last three years and no one was able to get me there. I am telling all women looking for an amazing salon with both talented stylists and a wonderful accommodating staff to go to Elizabeth Benke Salon at Blueberry Hill. Jen is a 5 star stylist. She continues to amaze me and is able to sculpt my thick long hair so that it swings and doesn't just hang. She is also great at color and taking care of the hair's health.
