Best Hair Salon in Calgary and Area! When I initially moved to Calgary 5 years ago I was at a loss for Hair Dressers, I tried several, until I found Salon Luminous. I even had to move to Airdrie, and this Salon is well worth the travel. Everywhere I go I get amazing comments about my hair. I have been every colour from red, red and black, black and blue, to brunette, platinum blonde, and now ash blond. Salon Luminous has never failed to impress. Not only do they do great hair but the salon owner Missy is educated as a makeup artist as well, she always has great advise for hair and makeup! The ladies here always help to make you look your best and I trust them so much I took their advice to go blond. I was sceptical at first, since no other salon could achieve a natural blond colour, lets just say I can't imagine being any other colour. They were able to give advice on the colour and style I wear today that leaves me feeling confident and suits me. They are willing to do whatever you ask of them as long as it does not put the health of your hair at jeopardy; but, don't be afraid to take their advice, you'll leave looking and feeling amazing! I have tried many hair salons in my life, and this is the best. Missy really knows her craft. The salon has comfortable chairs and a warm and friendly feeling. Missy and her team can either be attentive and listen to what kind of style you want, or, as I usually liked to do, you can just tell her to do whatever she thinks will look good, and it will turn out amazing. She has an amazing ability to innovate based on your bone structure and personal style. When I see Missy I say "Do whatever you want"; she's a meticulous visionary, a virtuoso, who won't stop working on a hair design until it meets her vision - her vision is perfection. I am so very happy with my new haircut and colour!! Missy did a wonderful job, she understood what I wanted and I am so pleased. Other hairdressers were focussed on what they wanted for my hair, Missy is the first one who got me and the direction I want to go! After years of my battling the white roots, she took my colour to flattering shades with hi+lo lites, and gave me a cut that is so easy to style, and looks so classy! Missy is honestly the best hair dresser I've gone to. She listens to what I want, but also gives her opinion to make sure I am not damaging my hair. She knows what looks great on me. She's not only a good hair dresser, but a wonderful person. She makes sure I'm comfortable with my appointment and makes it fun to come to the salon. Today, my hair took over 4 hours to complete. I have been going to Missy for many years now, even before she opened up this salon. I have dyed my hair so many times, various colours and it always turns out exactly how I want it! I had tried going to a different salon and my hair ended up getting very damaged with the amount of bleach that was used, I thought I had to cut it all off but thankful for missy, she made my hair healthier than ever. Came in as an old boring young adult, came out like a hollywood star! I wanted a new hair color but I'm really not sure what color would be best for me. So Xian, the stylist who did my hair, helped me out. Really love the outcome! Their stylists are very knowledgeable; they really know what they are doing.
