I love this salon it's casual comfy & people are friendly & helpful. The prices are in line with salons in this area. For me this salon is absolutely great because they use the hair color brand artease. Even to my surprise artease hair color brand works so well with my hair and is the only brand that goes well with my hair Texture. I have been to most of the local hair salons and used most market brands like goldwell, swartzkoff , matrix, Redkin, Wella, loreal clarins etc., but my hair never looked this healthy & manageable with artease hair color. Well once again Brittany has not let me down! Went in to lighten up my hair for summer and I love it! I wanted to go from my natural dark brown hair to a solid golden honey blonde high ombré so Brit decided to split it into two sessions (so I wouldn't completely kill and dry out my hair) thank you for the suggestion by the way, my hair still feels so soft and healthy !! With one session down and one more to go, I am so excited to see the final outcome! If I love it now, I'll love it even more in six weeks! I've been to Jamie 4 times now over time. Wonderful gal! She's cut it twice, then colored over my full head of silver hair, then did a root touch up once. She's a meticulous stylists. I've been happy with her work each time and I highly recommend her. I got a longer, choppy bob style, which she knows how to do so well! I was a salt and pepper (more salt), "silver" haired woman for a few years, and after careful thought, decided to go back to color. I really liked my gray hair, but I can return to it when I'm older. I'm only in my mid-fifties now. Anyway, Jamie helped me find the right color, so root touch ups can stretch further out and I am very pleased. My original natural color was very dark brown, but my skin and age don't look good with such dark hair anymore, so it's a lighter, coppery brown with some highlights. I want to add my positive feedback to Brittany's list of clients because the minute I arrived I was greeted by the girl at the front desk and Brittany was ready and waiting there at the exact time my appointment was scheduled! I'm a loyalist and since moving to Irvine from Long Beach I'd found it daunting to find a new hair stylist, but it had been almost a year since I'd had a haircut so needless to say I was long overdue. Since I live just around the corner from Salon Laurent I decided to give it a try. I called early & the receptionist who took my call was nice and got me a same day appointment with Courtney whom she suggested...so things were off to a good start. I was nervous but excited. When I walked in a few minutes early Courtney was ready & waiting for me near the front...perfect! We had a short chat about my hair and want I wanted I was showed her a few pics of me when I really liked my hairstyle and she got started. She was super sweet and friendly & I feel like we got along well. She breezed through my wash, cut, and was like no one I've ever seen w/a brush & blow dryer. I was AMAZED at how fast she blew out my curls. She is the REAL DEAL!! I hope she enjoyed doing my hair and much as I enjoyed the experience, I've misread stylist in the past & when I tried to book again I got the blowoff. I will definitely go back again. This is absolutely the worst place I have ever been to. I had a blow dry apt awhile back and HATED it but decided to give them another try, since they are so close to my house. The customer interaction here is a negative star. They wouldn't let me bring my purse in, I had to take it back to the car, then they wouldn't let me keep my cell phone (which was in my pocket). I needed the phone since it opens my car door, houses my credit card, and I had no purse!!!! I cancelled my apt on the spot and will never, ever, step foot in this ridiculous place again. read more

I used to use a stylist in Newport Beach who was good, but I was looking for someone closer to my home in Irvine. I decided to give Salon Laurent a try and I'm glad I did. I saw Shannyl and she did an excellent job. She is a new stylist so I was a little nervous at first, but I had no reason to worry. She did an amazing job on my cut and color, and spent extra time straightening my curly hair to perfectly straight like I like it. The cost was comparable to the price I paid in Newport so I felt it was fair. Overall my experience was great and I would recommend Shannyl to anyone looking for a local stylist. read more

I have been going to Karina for years now and she has NEVER let me down. She is absolutely amazing and genuinely listens to what you want and does just that. I 100% trust her and will forever be going to her. I went to Paige once when Karina was out and had a terrible experience. I have long hair and she said word for word, "I like cutting long hair better because there's more f**k up room," as she was cutting my hair. She didn't check to make sure both sides were even in the front and my right side ended up being about 2 inches longer than my left. My 5 stars is solely for Karina. She is awesome! read more

Went to get my hair dyed after reading good reviews. Just a single process coloring and I was there for 5 hours! First try, my hair turned out to be something totally different then I wanted and I thought I expressed myself clearly. After seeing how my hair turned out I was almost going to cry- it was horrible looking in one word. Owner took over and tried to fix my hair. De-colorized and toned my hair for free to fix it. While in the process my sculpt hurt so much I knew something must have been wrong but thought it must be the normal process to get rid of that first no-no and soon it will go back to normal. After all that work, the color got a lot lighter so i thought it worked. Fast forward to the next day...The hair color went back to what it was after the first failure. And my hair smelled so bad I was going to throw up. First night I could not sleep from the strong smell. I thought it will go away once i wash it. But NO! It just got more intense. Still is smelling so bad even though i washed a few times. Intoxicating gross odor. Have been washing it but no results. Even myself cant handle the smell, yet along other people around me. My hair is so badly ruined. Just spent $$$$ on products to try to fix it. I still don't know what to do to fix all this mess. So regret that I chose this place to get just a simple coloring. read more

I have had Patty Mendoza do my hair for many many years and I go any where she works. She keeps records of my coloring so when we do it again she knows what works best. She is on time and works quickly. Some of the other people in the salon I'm familiar with from salon's she has worked in and they are also excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant and it's not loud where people are yelling and fooling around where I have seen other salons conduct business. I have been going to Salon Laurent for just under a year and have always stuck with the same stylist unless it was last minute and she was all booked up. As I said I think this place is great but my stylist, Shannyl, by far is the #1 reason I go here. She always listens and actually cares enough to make sure she cuts your hair to YOUR satisfaction. She has great ideas for different styles, if you are open to change. She is a huge asset to this business! First and last time at this salon! The worst color I've ever had, I went in asking for my "natural color" which is medium brown. What i got was Black! I look like a freak! Seriously the Goth look is not for me. And to top it off, she charged me $200! I could have bought a box dye for less than $10 and it would have looked better than this. I go to Becky @ this salon and she is TERRIFIC! I cannot believe how long her haircuts last! Her layering is incredible and makes my thin hair look thicker and tamed. This would be enough for me as my troubled hair needs the help but it is her color work that makes me a true addict. Becky has managed to lighten my inky brown and greying hair so that I look like the brunette I was meant to be-two shades lighter than my natural color and totally complimentary to my skin tone! I went to see Paige at this Salon and was extremely pleased with how my hair turned out. I had box dye on my hair trying to cover up what was there before and my hair was a hot mess. Paige took in every idea I gave her and made my hair amazing. I have been so many places and walked out NOT happy with my hair at all. After leaving the salon I was already planning my return. She took my messed up dark hair, where everyone has told me they can't make it light, and she made it light. She took her time and took really good care of my hair.
