Well they upped the price from the last time I was here a few months ago. Even though they said January (which was 9 months ago) was their last price hike. Also, not all of the employees were wearing masks and there were definitely some rude employees I unfortunately had to deal with during my visit. If you like when businesses enforce social distancing and mask wearing don't come here. I got my hair (blowout and slight curl) and makeup done this morning with Paola at Salon La Bottega prior to sitting for a Bradford Portrait nearby. I had a wonderful experience from the time I walked in the door to the time I left. The front desk was friendly and welcoming, the lady who washed my hair was great, and I believe I may have met the owner later on who was personable and friendly while I waited for my husband to pick me up. Paola was very professional, enjoyable to talk to, and really took her time to make sure everything was done with fidelity. Absolutely loved this place! For a while now I've been trying to find somewhere I can trust to cut my hair. After numerous fails at other locations I turned to yelp to find a good place. Based on reviews I decided to give Salon La Bottega a shot. I made an appointment, and when I walked in I was greeted nicely by the staff and they set me with Christina. SHE WAS SO SWEET. I explained to her a basic idea of what I wanted and she asked more specific questions, which gave me reassurance that she wanted to 100% make sure she was on the same page as me. Hair washing was great, staff even offered any water or coffee, etc. Honestly I felt very comfortable. And to make the long story short, Christina did WONDERS to my hair. After 15 years of paying progressively more for my haircuts by an extremely talented stylist in Manhattan (he started at $100 for a cut and by the time I stopped going to him, his cut was roughly $370), I decided that I wanted to be able to afford haircuts and blowouts more than once a year. So I re-visited my roots (pun intended) and found myself at La Bottega. One of the stylists, Louis, cut my hair from when I first HAD hair at the age of 3 or 4, all the way up to when I moved across the country at the age of 14. My first visit back to him was for my bridal consultation, and I could not have been more thrilled. He not only gave me an unbelievable cut at a very affordable price, he also took so much time learning about what I envisioned for my wedding day and working with me and my hair to find the perfect style. When he did my hair on the big day, it looked even more incredible than I had pictured in my head! That was enough for me to make a permanent switch back to him. I can't give La Bottega 5 stars, just because I've never worked with any of the other stylists or gotten any service other than a cut and dry, but if Louis is any indication, then La Bottega is five stars. On my most recent visit, I also got the best head message of my life while I was getting shampooed. Heaven! For those who, like me, tend to go to the beauty salon looking like they've just rolled out of bed, be warned that the women who work here are not only sweethearts, but also looked like they've just stepped out of one of Anna Wintour's magazines. read more

This review is for Maryann Papasodero. I was afraid I was never going to find a good stylist - that is until I found Maryann many years ago. She is extremely talented and passionate about what she does. She is most concerned that you are happy but is not afraid to give you ideas and suggest what she thinks would look best. My advice- trust her! She knows her stuff. She always listens to what I want - is really good about communicating what she is going to do - and then does an amazing job!! Recently, I wanted to keep my overall length, but also got some much needed shaping! Typically, after leaving a salon, I rush home and wash my hair because I'm not a fan of how it gets styled. With Maryann's cut and styling I never wash my hair after - I always love it that much! The cut is always what I exactly what I exactly want (and so rarely get at other places). I always look forward to my appointments because we also have a blast. Which, as we ladies know, is a huge part of the experience. Can't recommend Maryann enough! read more

This place is great! I haven't been here in a while but every time I've gotten a hair cut by Freddy or someone else has been to see him, compliments are always being exchanged. The last time I had gone, he gave me a very chic bob with a little layering. Well worth the money, as I looked and felt great (although my brother yelled at me because I tipped him and you're not supposed to tip the owner -- oh, what a nube I am!). He also has another location -- I don't remember where it is, so you'll need to stop by the salon yourself or give them a call. :) I fully recommend this salon. They did a horrible job on my head. My hair was virgin, dark brown I only had a little color on the tips like a caramel and I asked for blonde balayage. The girl apparently saw how I was dressed and most likely assumed I couldn't afford to do my hair with her. So she tells me she has someone for me that can do my hair at a reasonable price. My hair was left with orange mustard color up to 3 inches away from my scalp leaving my natural dark roots abruptly meeting with this orangey yellow color. They tried to convince me that the next time it will be the color I wanted but that I needed to be patient. Charged me an arm and a leg altogether. I desperately looked for someone who could fix it. After three weeks of searching I finally found a very talented woman advertising on Facebook working out of her home. Charged me half of what I paid and looks gorgeous. Sometimes you think if you go to a fancy salon you are destined to get good results, I never thought I would try someone working out of their home. A real diamond in the ruff. I would recommend La Bottega to anyone. It's situated in a spacious, well-designed building with great lighting. The staff is friendly and attentive, and strive to make your experience there relaxing and enjoyable by sitting you In one of their plush chairs and offering you refreshments. If you want a great style, ask for Maryann. I went in there needing a change of some sort with only a small idea of what I was going for. Maryann went with what I was going for, and came up with a great length and color that suited my bone structure and skin tone really well. I can't tell you how many compliments I've received! maybe if you have thick curley/wavy volumized hair this solon would work for u but i have straight flat fine hair. when washing my hair, the lady was telling me that i wash my hair wrong and that's why it gets oily, which people tell me cause not many ppl have my hair type. she put my hair though in a position that adds no volume. i described my hair type to the girl cutting my hair and she said she understood. she started brushing my hair and asked me "is ur hair always this notty" which it was pretty normal considering it was j washed and wrapped w a towel. it wasn't even taking her a lot of time to brush. she goes and gets something and prays it in my hair and then my hair starts becoming super soft and oily which i kept reminding i don't want. when she was cutting my hair she kept flattening it and it only took her 10 minutes to cut my hair and i have a lot of hair. she tells me she put products in it so i ask what she says "heat protection and to make ur hair shine" which i've mentioned many times that isn't natural hair is straight and i never use heat on it. she said she wanted to help w my frizz which i clearly don't have one. she had no idea what she was doing for a hair type like mine. i also said i didn't want a blow out like i didn't want them to do anything special w my hair so when she finishes her joke of a cut she tells me she's done. my hair is soaking wet and it's making my shirt wet. i ask her if she can dry it for me and she says she doenst have time. i felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of me. i never like to cut my hair but after this i hate it even more. she couldn't even part my hair in the middle she was off center. I was new to the area and this salon is near my house. I walked in to check it out and found it clean and spacious with very aesthetic decor. The receptionist answered all of my questions and was quite pleasant. I booked an appointment and returned the following week. Merita did exactly what I requested as far as my hair cut and my hair looks great. It was $75 for a hair cut and blow dry which I found quite reasonable. I heard great things about this salon so I thought I'd give it a try. I was booked to see Maryann Papasoddero (unsure of the spelling). After having her do my hair, a few weeks went by and I noticed my hair breaking off and my color turned orangey-red. I texted her (she gave me her personal #) to let her know i was unhappy and said that she'd make time in a week or so to fix it. I couldn't wait that long. Instead, I had a salon in NYC fix it and because it was NYC, they charged double! All in, between what Maryann did (or didn't do) and then what I paid to fix it, it cost me almost $1000!!! I feel that if she spent a little more time focused on my hair rather than her cell phone, I wouldn't be so unhappy and I'd probably return to the salon. This was not a good experience at all. Maybe the salon itself does well but I surely wouldn't recommend anyone see Maryann P. Upon reviewing other reviews for Maryann P., it almost looks as though these are a bit repetitive and phony, as if she gave the reviews herself?!? One says that she's "strikingly beautiful" and "makes good cappuccino"??!!! Did she write these herself??? Most of them are written on the same day!! LOL I wish I saw this before I let her butcher my hair. It seems that this person may be more narcissistic than anything. Who writes reviews about themselves?? This salon is so beautiful and organized. It was extremely clean and they offered refreshments and coffee. Klaudia is the BEST BEST stylist and colorist ever. My hair never looked better. She was so kind and professional and walked me through every process. Especially being someone with really curly hair, it was hard to find hair stylist who knew how to treat my hair. I've been going to La Bottega since the beginning of this year and all I can say is WOW! The professionalism and cleanliness of the salon is a 10/10. Klaudia is a hair magician and makes me feel like a new woman every time I leave. She is sweet, professional, and is able to make your vision come to life even better than you could've imagined. La Bottega has handled the current pandemic extremely seriously and with such grace. Upon walking in, you are greeted by a lovely reception area where your temperature is taken and a hand sanitizer station is available. The salon is clean, sectioned off with plexiglass partitions, and filled with happy, smiling stylists. After each move from station to station, the previous area is disinfected immediately and all patrons and staff wear masks the entire time. It is a pleasure to return back to La Bottega each time and it is so comforting knowing that they are taking all the precautions to ensure a safe environment for all patrons. La Bottega provides every woman (and I'm sure every man) the full salon experience! From the moment you walk in you are treated like royalty. They ask your drink order right when you walk in, and you are never kept waiting! I see Maryann P. who is, in my opinion, the most talented hairstylist I've ever met. SHE GIVES YOU EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT, and leaves you with a flawless look. She is extremely attentive to detail, and spends more than enough time with each end every one of her clients. After reading the amazing reviews, I came in for a haircut and blow out. I'm a busy mom and it was finally a treat to go and get my hair done. I was sat with Lindy (I think that was her name). She barely smiled as she shook my hand. Instead of asking me to take out the band that held my hair up, she took it off herself. Any female knows that those bands hold your hair pretty tight. You don't really want anyone else pulling it off of you. I guess she wasn't aware of that. She began looking through my hair as I told her what I wanted. Not sure if she was interested in listening. Once she walked me over to get a robe, she finally spoke and said "you need an inch off of your hair." I kept a positive attitude because I didn't want a bad haircut. After having my hair washed, another lady asked if I wanted something to drink. The whole time I'm hearing the stylists asks their clients, but I guess thats not what Lindy does. When I was seated with her again, it was 10 minutes before she asked. She began cutting my hair. Normally stylists like to engage in some kind of conversation, but Lindy could not be bothered. She has a sour puss on her face the whole time. When the lady who washed my hair came over with my coffee, she looked annoyed. Even more so when I was done with the drink because she had to take it and put it down on the counter. Towards the end of my session with her, she finally spoke and said that my hair is dry and that I need to change shampoos. I should buy a Japanese shampoo that is sold in the salon. Right! She is simply great and will take the time to listen to me and bend over backwards to give me exactly what I describe. Every day I get compliments on my hair color. Jay is the best! She is an amazing stylist (and person) I've known her for roughly 8 years. She just cut 11 inches off of my hair and I LOVE IT! Wouldn't want to trust anyone else to do that.
