Brows by Jodi When…read morethe Ala Moana Macy's Salon suddenly shut down, I freaked out. For the past decade, I only go to Jodi to get my brows done. You can imagine my relief when she let me know that her and a bunch of ladies decided to open up a salon together. They're located where the old Sweet Home Cafe was located. Jodi always does an amazing job on brows. She's friendly, thorough, and precise. She carefully curates the perfect brow for each individual based on your face shape and structure. She knows that I prefer to have thicker brows and something that is easy for me to self-maintain. Also, whatever products she uses smells sooo good! I don't trust anyone else with my brows besides her. Thanks for reading my review! Let me know what I should try next!

I hadn't gotten my hair done since November of 2019, so I was due for a cut at the very least. After perusing Yelp reviews of different hair salons in the area, I came across Dorene Furtado's work. She had pictures up of the exact hair color and style that I wanted, so I knew I had to contact her right away. Booking with Dorene was easy and seamless through text, and she was able to fit me in on New Years Eve! The salon itself is in the Kaka'ako district. I've only ever been there a couple of times, so driving past all the mural decorated warehouses was so nice during the day. You can definitely see how unique and vibrant of a neighborhood it is. Parking was super easy; Nueve Salon has their own parking lot, and location wise is very easy to find. The salon is clean, bright, and well-kept, and I felt lucky to have been the only person in that day. Dorene took her time to explain what she was going to do, and ensured that she was able to execute exactly what I wanted without damaging my hair. After a couple of hours in the chair, some highlights, and a cut later, I felt lighter and like I had finally had some self care time (a rarity with kids). Thank you, Dorene, for your beautiful work!

Hi, I have gotten a great cut each time I've been there…read more(twice), but the last time I went recently was a bad experience. It had been a while since I had been and couldn't recall how long and the hair dresser just proceeded to tell me that it had been longer than I was saying and proving me wrong. I couldn't decide how I wanted to style it and asked for suggestions and she just said she doesn't give suggestions. This lasted the entire hair cut. I showed a picture and showed her to do it like that and she said, 'I'm just going to stick to what you said before.' Then I just finally said, 'do whatever you'd like.' I tipped her well because she did a great job, but it was a very uncomfortable experience. Quality work, not quality customer service. Will not be back.

I like the vibe in this place, and I'm grateful for the referral to come here since my previous stylist retired.

I was vacationing, and I wanted some mommy me time before cruisin around the island. J colored my hair with a high end color line from Italy(no smell at all)! High quality color and my cut was exactly what I asked for! Precise and quick! J was fun to talk with, and she even helped me out by giving me a bunch of recommendations for Hawaiian jewelry! She went out of her way to text me numbers of places I can buy Hawaiian bracelets at! I was happy and will definately be back when I'm back in Hawaii Kai! Worth the $$ for the quality of her service! Li- where do I start?!! This woman is A-mazing!! I booked a facial and massage the day I came for my color and cut with J one week previous. yes, make an appt! She books up with standing clients. First off, she got me when she told me that she used Yonka products for her facials..I was sold!!. I started my day with Li with a 1 hour massage! I came in with really achy calves! My varicose veins were apparent, and she spent a lot of time to relieve me of my pain!. She took her time and went over the one hour time and did not charge me extra $ for that...that tells you how much she truly loves her job! I was renewed, restored and revitalized! Now the facial was equally amazing! Yonka product is all organic and brought me nostalgia of when I had monthly Yonka facials in my 20's pre-kids and marriage!. Li has the magic touch, thorough extractions with a very painless, gently touch! My facial was finished with a hydrating masque that I badly needed from all my time in the Hawaii sun. Li is a consummate, passionate professional that truly gives her clients their $$ worth! I will definately plan to make an appt when I return to the Islands! Mahalo & Alohas to J and Li! You are both so awesome at your trade! Until next time!!!
