My secret spot is no more. Maryo's talents are in demand and despite the difficulty getting an appointment he is SO worth the drive for me. I moved 45 min away and happily will make the drive. Depending on the season, it could be a cut and color with a few highlights or just a cut. I love that I can just sit and Maryo knows what I need, though this next visit I may cut a little more off than I have been. Salon is always light and friendly. Luckily I came across this good rated spot from my Yelp search, and they were able to squeeze me in for the day. Ella helped assist me in donating my hair. She was nice and passionate about her work. Stressful and unpleasant experience today. I don't recommend this salon if you have curly hair. I told my stylist straight off the bat that the front of my hair shrinks the rest and needs to be left longer and he completely ignored that and cut it into shorter layers around the front of my face which when curly will shrink up and look like a really awkward length, as if I'm growing out bangs, compared to the rest of my hair. Almost every stylist I try screws this up so I may have given a pass about it but the overall experience was not good even beyond the too short cutting of the exact section of hair I said to leave longer. First my stylist started trying to sell me products before he had even started cutting my hair. I didn't ask for recommendations and he actually went and got the bottles and held them out to me like he wanted me to physically take them. I felt like I was at a flea market with a pushy salesman and had to say no more than once. Second, I had mentioned that my hair was processed and had previously been bleached and had dry ends which needed to be cut and he asked me "Why did you do that?". It was very awkward to feel like I had to explain myself to him that did it because I wanted to? Then he said "Well if you had come to me I would have recommended highlights because it's better for the hair". It was insulting because first of all, I wanted my hair fully bleached and I didn't ask you. And if I had asked him I would have been annoyed because highlights is exactly what I didn't want when I bleached my hair platinum. Third, and this is the most insulting of all, and why I don't recommend this salon for curly hair. He finally said that I should get a keratin treatment to smooth my virgin hair out after I'm done growing out my processed ends, but it's very important to understand, I DID NOT ASK. He basically just volunteered that he thinks my natural curly texture is undesirable and needs to be "fixed" in his mind. Then the *mwha* chef's kiss cherry on top is that when he was done blow drying my hair he said "At least it blow dries nice". Speechless. The blow out was decent. read more

This salon is absolutely phenomenal! The salon itself is very clean and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming! Right as you walk in the door you are greeted with smiling faces from the staff and customers! The customer services is A+! You are treated like family right away! I had my hair cut and styled by Mario! He is so beyond talented! You can tell he has been cutting hair for years! He is so knowledgeable about hair, products, treatments, styling and more! What Mario recommended for me is a form of deep gel condition treatment. It helps with frizz, adds shine, and moisturizes the hair. I don't think my hair has ever looked so good in my life! My hair was so silky and light I couldn't stop touching it! I loved the way my hair came out and it looks so much healthier! I would recommend this salon to anyone! They style men and women's hair! My father has been coming to this salon for awhile now and he loves! Bottom line this place has such a talented staff and amazing customer service! We had the best experience there today. They were able to accommodate us last minute for an appointment, which we appreciated. My daughter also had an unusual request for her haircut/hairstyle and Maryo couldn't have been more supportive about the look she was going for. I have never experienced worse than this salon. My friend recommended it to me, said you pay 45$ for hair and beard and you can go walk in it's worth it!!! I want today at 1:30pm Him: do you have an appointment? Me: no, can I have an appointment?..... Before I completed my words Him: you can't just come and walk in you should get an appointment!! I repeated my question it's ok can I have app..? Him: Come back at 2pm or 2:30pm Me: today? Him: Yes!! Me: Sure & left I came back at 2:29pm I didn't wait for long to be seated The actions:- -shaving while he engaged in a conversation with other customer! So he look to the customer more than my beard "I'm okay with this if he didn't make mistakes in orders" - I tried to get his attention "look at this I need it like that while he talking but he doesn't know what I'm saying" -((((((((((((((((((((I ended up with some wounds and cut some of my mustache side by accident so I noticed him and tried to make it clear couldn't.)))))))))) - when I got up hi realized what he had done!! My face looks angry +unhappy so he stopped me and he tried to fix some of his mistakes while I'm standing! Anyway I'm gonna let my friend pay me 45. But, I surprised when I saw all other's reviews including my friend maybe because, I'm new customer and I didn't get an appointment!!! I have never been to a salon as great as this one. They all greet you with a big smile and take the time for all your needs. I can't always go as often as I like but it's never a problem. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, you almost forget you are at a salon! Mario and Isa can never do enough! They make sure if you need something to drink and even try to feed to if near meal time. But, enough of that, their work is extraordinary and they are always up on new trends! I once saw them walk someone out with an umbrella since it was raining and the woman just had her hair done! This salon is a must go to and I would give 100 stars if I could! Love all of you! Have had my hair cut by most of them always a great cut. All of them are very skilled stylists and very personable guys. I live in Boston currently but will put off a cut just to go here when I am back down. Personally, Toni has been my guy for the last year. Awesome dude and does exactly what I request. Never have to worry when I am getting my haircut that it will come out unlikable. If you ask him for suggestions he has an excellent understanding of what will work best without disregarding what you want. All of them are terrific and dedicated to their craft. This is supported by the fact they are constantly attending classes, workshops etc. (in Manhattan) to improve and maintain their quality work. Highly suggest checking them out. read more

First time at Salon Isa. The receptionist Sanabel ( not sure of the correct spelling of her name) was very nice and welcoming. She took time to talk with me after checking in while I waited for my appointment. Maryo, the owner whom I had my appointment with listened carefully to what I was looking for with style and color. He asked a bunch of questions regarding lifestyle, upkeep etc. which I never had before at other salons. I felt like Maryo cared and was focused on making me feel beautiful with my cut and color. He did a fabulous job. I left very happy. I also got a great head and neck massage while being shampooed. Salon Isa is a great salon. Definitely going back. read more
