I had an extremely disappointing experience at Alchemy in terms of both service provided and customer service. I paid nearly $300 for a full balayage and haircut, and my hair looks nothing like what I requested. The color is completely wrong; noticeably warmer than the cool, ashy blonde I asked for -- and much darker with far less coverage than shown in my reference photos. I did not receive the full balayage that I was charged full price for. The haircut is also incorrect; the shape, layering, bangs, and overall result do not resemble what I had presented to the stylist at all. During my appointment with Gabrielle, there were multiple issues. At one point, my hair was accidentally turned purple during the glazing process and had to be corrected again. Even after additional processing, I was left with brownish-red ends instead of the blonde I requested. It was clear the service missed the mark, as she mentioned the possibility of a redo multiple times before I had even expressed concern. Despite this, I was still charged full price and was asked to pose for after photos, which felt inappropriate given how she knew she had clearly missed the mark and I was also visibly unhappy with the result. What makes this especially frustrating is how clearly I communicated what I wanted. I shared reference photos via Instagram before booking, created a detailed document with written instructions and multiple images, and reviewed everything again in person at the start of the appointment. At no point was I told that my desired result was not achievable, or that the stylist may not be able to deliver the requested balayage and cut based on the reference images I provided. After the appointment, I made multiple attempts over the span of 5 days to contact the owner and the salon to resolve the issue and received no response. I later found out the owner had allegedly responded, but none of her emails were received on my end, so I never had the opportunity to review or respond to the options she offered. I was finally notified that a full refund was issued without my input, and I was never able to move forward with the redo that was mentioned during my appointment and offered to me by the owner. I had my hair evaluated by another salon and was told it would take over 5 additional hours and cost approximately $600+ to correct the color and cut. I ultimately left this experience worse off than when I started. While I received a refund, I still lost the 5 hours spent at my appointment and additional hours spent attempting to resolve the issue. I was also left with a result that I am very unhappy with and will need to spend large amounts of time and money elsewhere to correct it. The owner considers this matter resolved; however, I do not feel the issue was meaningfully resolved on my end. read more

I have been growing my grey hair for 2 years. In January I went to a hair salon to get a botox treatment on my hair. The lady didn't know how to treat grey hair properly and ended up getting my grey hair yellow. She advised me to use purple shampoo for a few days until the yellow is gone and my grey hair comes back to normal. However, after a whole week using the purple shampoo nothing changed. I searched on Google for a blond/grey hair salon professionals and found the Alchemy. I filled an online form saying what happened to my hair and Imogene texted me next day to know more details about what happened. I sent pictures from my hair before and after. She told me she was willing to fix it as much as possible. I made a 90 min appointment with Mercedes. She is a very sweet girls. Also, very professional. She applied 2 or 3 treatments on my hair. She was able to take about 75% of the yellow from my hair. However, it was not just the product that made my hair yellow. The lady who treated with botox burned my hair. Mercedes told me that the rest of the yellow would probably not get off. She was right. Even using purple shampoo regularly my hair is still yellowish. When they say your hair stylist becomes your therapist, they're not kidding. Not only is Imogene an artist when it comes to hair, she's an amazing individual. I look forward to my hair appointments because she makes the whole experience simply delightful. She listens to you and works with you to get the perfect style and color (not to mention she's entirely on board to do something fun with your hair if you ask her - I love giving her free rein to do whatever, I trust her and that can be hard to find in a hairdresser). I was so happy with my experience at Alchemy, The Salon. I got the keratin treatment by Jessii. It was easy to get done and so worth it. My hair was frizzy no matter what I did to treat it. With the keratin treatment my hair is now looking the best it ever has. My hair has no frizz and manageable. For some people that don't have time to always blow dry this was the best solution. I was so pleased with the job Jessii did. Jessii was very helpful and knowledgeable and I can't thank her enough that she recommended to get this treatment done. I found Imogene through the Moms of Fairfield group and I am SO glad I did! I've never trusted anyone to color my hair before, and she has given me beautiful blonde highlights every time I've seen her. I get compliments on my hair all the time and people can't believe it's not my real hair color. I think the highest compliment I can pay her is to recommend to my friends, which I have done multiple times now and she's done a great job with their hair too. I've been a client of KC's for many years, and have never been unhappy with a service. I have fine but thick straight (ish) hair/ have gone really short to long with layers - and KC has done a beautiful job with each style. She also cuts my daughters hair - and my husband will be going soon as well. She is great with color and communication! She takes your input and tells you right up front if she thinks it will work, and if not why - and offers suggestions for what will work. I had my first hair appointment with Mercedes not too long ago and it was sooo amazing!! Mercedes was able to form perfectly shaped layers that let my hair dry wonderfully - both wavy and straight! Ok just got my hair done by Kristina (or Knina) at Alchemy Salon in Fairfield and I love herrr! She was able to fix my roots with a balayage look and then gave me length galore with extensions!
