    Pink polish turning streaky brown under in-tact top coat.  2nd time in a month this has happened at Salon Excursion.

    After more than 7 years coming here, I think I am going to look for a new place due to 2 bad experiences in 1 month. I think the salon has new owners, and I am not impressed with their customer service and it seems quality of products may have gone down as well. I got a light pink no chip manicure at the beginning of August. Less than a week later, the pink polish changed to a streaky brown beneath the top coat. I asked a friend who used to do nails what she thought and she said it looked like my nails had either not been fully cured or the light they used to cure my nails wasn't compatible with the polish I chose. I went back to Salon Excursion, explained what happened, and asked them to redo my no chip (as usually they last me a month). They didn't seem apologetic at all, and to be honest, they seemed suspicious of me, as if I was lying about what happened, even though it was obvious my nails hadn't grown out and, as I mentioned the top coat was fully in tact so it was obviously some issue with the polish. Rude or not, they did agree I could come back later that week and they would redo my manicure. When I came back, they asked me if I wanted a regular manicure. I told them I paid for a no chip so I wanted a no chip again, and to be fair, they agreed to do a new no chip. However, then they asked me to pick the same color they did originally. After what happened, I did not want the same color because I thought there might be an issue with that particular polish. I felt pressured to pick another similar color though, because they seemed like that's what they wanted. So I picked a similar color. Well, a week later, and my new no chip is turning brown under my top coat AGAIN. I have *never* had this problem before in the 7 years I have been getting manicures. I'm not going to bother going back to complain again, because as I said, they weren't apologetic the first time, but this is very frustrating and disappointing, not to mention a waste of my time and money. By contrast, the salon I went to to have the second bad no chip removed (Zenails in Lincoln Park) told me if I ever had a problem like this from a manicure they did, I should alert them and they will take the product that caused it off the shelf. In other words, they seemed to value providing high quality service and product to their clients. Posting pics of my nails :(

    Absolutely thrilled with my experience. I got a dip manicure and the technician was so cautious and thorough. I did have to wait 30 minutes but I didn't have an appointment and wanted a service that not every technician is certified to do. Not only is my manicure totally flawless, the hand massage and shoulder massage was great. They were great about making sure I was comfortable and were mindful of my time. Will I be going back? Hands down, yes. Very happy with my experience.

    After my second attempt at powder nails at this shop, I think I have to give up. The first time I went, I was super impressed. They give you massage and the lady (I think her name was Holly) was super nice. Unfortunately I had a nail break less than a week later. So I went back and got it fixed. A couple days later one or two other nails broke. So I got those fixed. They fixed them for free but spending the time to keep going back made it aggravating. Holly was so nice & still gave me the neck/shoulder massage! Finally several days after the most recent fix I just got them all redone because one nail (the color) fell off completely. When I got them all redone I had a different nail tech and I don't know her name. She has sort of curly/wavy hair that she wears in a low braid. I thought she did a good job at the time but within a couple of days I could feel the nails coming off because when I ran my fingers through my hair, it (my hair) would get caught on several nails near the base of my cuticle. I tried to ignore it for a few days but finally on day six or so an entire nail fell off. There were two others that were loose. I called to get a repair appointment and went about 10 minutes early so they could start soaking the two off that hadn't fallen off yet. But no one started soaking my nails so the lady came over and seemed really angry about it (as if I made my nails come off). I don't know if the guy didn't tell her I had one that fell off in two or three that were loose. Didn't check all the nails she just checked the two that I pointed out plus the one that had lost the color. She started filing the surface of my nails aggressively and filed off the skin (which obviously hurt) then took a cotton ball with remover and wrapped it around my finger which of course was pulsating because she had just rubbed the skin off with a nail file. When she started started filing that nail again I had to tell her to stop filing my skin off. At that point she was visibly pissed off at me but I hadn't done anything wrong. I was getting my nails fixed because several of them were falling off and getting caught in my hair and one had fallen off completely, so I'm not really sure why she was mad at me. Anyway, she angrily fixed three, one more is starting to come off but obviously she was extremely rude & I won't be going back. I wanted to like the salon so much because it is right in my neighborhood but I guess I have to go back to my old nail shop.

I booked online (which is super convenient!) with Kelsey and she was super sweet and friendly on our first meeting. She was attentive and took extra time to really get a fill for what I wanted in my lashes. I went for the "flirtatious girl" look because I love my lash extensions but like them for every day work wear so I do not want them too full. She did them perfectly and custom shape to my eyes and taste! Now I am a regular lash extension enthusiast so I get my fills regularly every 2-3 weeks for pretty much ever. I hit my 2.5 week mark with my initial full set from Kelsey and they still looked beautiful so I pushed my appointment back a bit to 3 weeks. When I got my fill Kelsey did amazing once again and made them look like new! I am going on 2.5 weeks now with my fill and they still look great! So glad I found Kelsey to be my new lash girl, and Flutter studio as it is clean, professional, and super friendly staff!

I called many places and Linda scheduled me same day and had a quick 30 min fill for 60$ They literally saved my life.
