I was on the hunt for someone new to take care of my hairdo since my usual person has suddenly become unavailable. Finding a new place is always stressful. I avoid barber shops because I don't have the usual men's haircut - I keep mine longer and add layers since I am not naturally adorable as my short hair, fade having friends. So a salon makes sense for me. My wife has always been a fan of this place. Her usual stylist is Joanne. My wife is always beautiful, but for the past few years even more so because Joanne at Salon Eco would always give her the right cut that she likes and always does a great job with highlights - never streaky. Her hair has a lot of depth and variation making it look so naturally gorgeous. So when she suggested I go see her it was worth a shot. The salon has a lot of positive energy. The entire staff is so friendly and upbeat - hanging my coat for me, offering coffee and taking me right on time. Christina washed and prepped my hair and brought me over to Joanne. My hair was especially long at this point and I showed her a pic of myself that I liked. She looked at it a minute and asked me a couple of questions - 10 min later she finished one of the best hair cuts I've had in a long time. I found my new hair spot. read more

I called at the last hour on a Saturday afternoon and they were happy to take me in. I am very particular with my hair and it is hard for me to find a hair salon to call my home. I usually go to Manhattan but next time, I don't think I will be traveling that far anymore. As soon as I came in, I was greeted warmly and was directed to go straight to get my hair wash. Tina immediately started to work on my hair. She was personable and I felt very comfortable with her. I showed Tina the hair cut I wanted to get done, but expressed that I was hesitant to make the change. She encouraged me to go for it, but did suggest to do it at a comfortable length. I am glad she was able to give me a little nudge, because the hair cut turned out great! Thanks, Tina! I came here a few months back. When I walked in, it was very welcoming and nice. My stylist was Tina who was very personable and nice. That wasn't the issue. I had very long hair probably cut 16-ish inches off. Anyway, I asked for my hair to be donated, she said okay, a girl with a broom comes around and sweeps it up into the garbage. I literally almost puked at my hair being wasted into the garbage can. I was so in shock I couldn't say a thing. Now to my hair, I wanted it platinum with a purple ombré. The woman at the front desk tried to talk me out of it but I still wanted it. Tina said there wasn't any purple left so she had to make it. I said ok, no biggie. I sat in the chair for 6 hours! 6 HOURS!! My whole day was wasted. After I was done they charged me $200!! I was sick that the amount as this is supposed to be reasonably priced. About a week later instead of my hair staying purple it turned BLUE. I am not happy with the outcome of my hair. I went to a new salon and the BLUE WILL NOT COME OUT IF MY HAIR, even after it was striped and bleached. So now I have blue hair after a few months and can't get rid of it. I have gotten two haircuts from Salon Eco thus far. I love them. I got a wash, trim, layers, angles, and bangs. Around thirty dollars for all. That is what a woman's haircut typically costs. I went for a blowout with Tina and came out looking worse than when I came in. It really seemed like she didn't know what she was doing or maybe she just didn't care. she curled my hair with a flat iron! one side of my head looked okay the other was totally different and looked terrible. she blamed my hair for not cooperating. she poked me in the eye a few times with her long nails and nearly burned my face with the hot iron. I had more product in my hair that was in the bottles in front of me. The Shampoo was great! but that was about it. My mother was right. I could have done a better job. TERRIBLE! read more

They chemically burned my scalp today idk how to feel about this salon anymore. Thought it was a good place but it makes me think they have no idea what they are doing. Ive been blonde for years and needed a change in salons so I came here and the first time she did my hair it was great, the second time I came it was as if she didn't know what she was doing. My head was POUNDING in pain. So she puts a bunch of bleach on my head and leaves me to help another client which I didn't have a problem with. But soon after that my head felt like it was on fire I was shaking my leg due to the pain and she noticed that and came over and asked if I was ok. So she goes and gets a manager once I said no I'm in pain and I never felt like this before and the lady who I guess is the owner takes a look at my head with Tina by her side and says that I still need to wait for it to achieve the color I wanted. At that point it was hurting so bad but I knew I was gonna pay at least 200 so I waited another five mins and as for the pain they gave me a comb and told me to pat my head with it... sounded super unprofessional I never had to do that in any other salon Ive gone too but i just wanted to leave really badly, so it did it . So Tina in the mean time went to go smoke a cigarette and came back and noticed I was still not looking happy so she called over the manager again and they told me to wash it out. Sooo once they washed me out i was ok for a bit but my scalp felt like an open wound. Once Tina came to put the toner on my hair it felt like she had put alcohol on an open wound of mine. I was CRYING IT HURT THAT F*CKING BAD BRO. Then that's when she started getting snippy she goes "your hair will be yellow if I don't put the toner in" i was holding my anger back so badly I was crying cus i was literally about to slap this idiot. OBVIOUSLY YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG FOR MY SCALP TO BE LIKE THIS YOU F*CKING DUMBASS. I will never come back her and will continue to tell people to not waste there time or money here. I fell for the trap cus the pictures on here are deceiving cus they are all posted from Tina not any "clients" ... but it honestly looks like she stole the photos from IG so I wouldn't be surprised if it is. because when you click on the photos on here the Name is "Amore m" ... that's Tina... read more

Went here on a whim because I didn't feel like driving all the way to my old salon. Since I'm new to the neighborhood I thought I'd try a local business. BIG MISTAKE! Very nice, friendly woman who washed my hair. BUT, as a new customer, they stuck me with a newly hired stylist who not only looked like a mess herself, but made a mess of my hair. Clearly she isn't as experienced as she claimed. I almost wonder if she even has a license. I left the salon looking horrible and had to get it fixed by my stylist in my old neighborhood who couldn't believe how bad my hair was. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

I'm absolutely in love with this place. I chose Salon Eco after seeing that it received a Best of the North Shore Award for the second year in a row. My hair was out of control, and I needed to switch haircutters desperately. So glad I came here! Everyone I met was warm and welcoming. I was even given cake and coffee, for Heaven's sake--over-the-top hospitality. Most important, Carla was just what my hair needed. She listened to me, studied a photo I brought with me, took her time (talking with me as she cut), and used SCISSORS--not electric shears. My hair looks better than it has in the last two years. Cannot say enough good things about this salon and staff. I was attending a wedding and needed an up-do and make-up done. I made an appointment only to find out that I needed to be ready and dressed for photos earlier. The staff didn't even blink an eye, just gave me an earlier appointment with only a week's notice. Pat did my hair and it was so wonderful. I received many compliments and told EVERYONE where I had it done. Fallon did my make-up. Although I was a little nervous because I don't usually wear much make-up, everyone raved about it. Even my husband loved it, and he is very particular. I went to Salon Eco because of all these amazing reviews, hoping that their colorist would be able to complete my crazy request of dying my hair ombre pink. I was extremely worried, since I've had some BAD experiences at previous salons. I'm so happy I came here, because Catherine is a wizard. She really is an artist and she dyed my hair the perfect color, I was SO happy! I'm usually absolutely terrified to go to salons but Catherine made me extremely comfortable and I came out of it with amazing, soft hair which I wasn't expecting because usually bleach leaves my hair dry. I'm convinced her hands are magic. The entire staff is so sweet and they even called to make sure I was happy. (Sorry guys I would have called back but I'm at work all the time!) After the dye I had Fallon blow dry my hair and she was just as fun and easy to talk to as Catherine. I was completely comfortable and had a great time. She didn't push me to trim my hair like most other people would, and she did an amazing job. There's not enough nice things I can say. GO HERE. Called this morning with a hair emergency! They got me in for a 1030 appointment. Carla color corrected my hair to tone done the orange brassy result from highlighting. Not only did she do this, but she started from scratch adding back my natural color as well as beautiful highlights! If that weren't enough, the whole process was quick. I had a great experience at Salon Eco. I went to the Salon the day of my wedding to get my hair and makeup done, and the rest of my bridal party also got their hair done. I first did a hair trial with Pat and a makeup trial with Pam. They were both fantastic. I showed them pictures and talked to them about my vision, and they did an awesome job. Then, I went back 6 months later for the wedding, and told them I wanted to do things a little differently. What a curve ball to throw your stylist just 6 hours before your wedding! But they gave me exactly what I wanted. My hair and makeup looked beautiful at 11am all the way until 12:30pm. All of my bridesmaids also had beautiful hairstyles that stayed throughout the entire night. My 2 year old flower girl even came in for the last hour and they gave her a head of little curls in about 5 minutes free of charge. We were there for a little over 2 hours and they ended a half hour ahead of schedule. We enjoyed bagels and mimosas while waiting to be finished and it was such a fun experience. We felt so comfortable and it was a great day to kick off the wedding day. After speaking with other people about their experiences and what they paid, we also got a great deal! I was so happy with my decision to go to Salon Eco and I would highly recommend them to any brides looking for the perfect place to get their hair and makeup done. read more

I am VERY picky when it comes to getting my hair colored. I have been to numerous salons and always leave dissatisfied especially when it comes to this certain hair color I've always wanted. Before giving up I decided to try out Salon Eco. I literally had the best experience ever! I showed a picture to the hair stylist (Carla)- and unlike all of the other salons I've been to, she actually took the time to pick out the right colors and my hair came out exactly as I wanted it to. I was beyond happy and highly recommend her to anyone! If you tell her what you want she will do exactly that. The staff was great and Carla was awesome! I did not like this Salon.a lady Jeanne did my hair..she did not put a heat treatment nor a serum and my hair was dry after they has ironed it..she had not brushed my hair before ahe started the work so it hurt so much.plus they charged so much and it had to be cash or check and mind u they do not give a receipt. .bad place do not waste your money.. read more
