I have spent the past year looking for a new stylist, 10 not so awesome cuts later I finally struck gold. I was down the street getting my nails done and realized I was way overdue for a haircut. I have short hair and I'm always a little weary of trying new salons (it's a bit difficult to fix a cut when it's so short). I found COCO on Yelp! and walked over. Arkadiy, the owner was free. From the moment I sat in his chair I felt comfortable giving him free reign over my hair. BEST cut I've had in years. Now, I'm back two weeks later letting him play with the color. This salon is amazing! Clean, easy on the eyes and the staff is wonderful! Not only do they do what you want but they also give you honest opinions on how hard it would be to keep up with or if the color would look good with you skin or eye color, or even if they have a better idea. I've never had layers but after my stylist Nison recommended it for my face shape I agreed and love it! He told me he knew I wanted to cut off a lot of my hair, but he was going to cut off less then that, and if I still liked the idea he would continue. They make sure you leave happy, and looking the best and want you to be happy with the way it looks. I've had my hair bleached, highlighted, low-lighted, cut, i've had color (pink) each time looking amazing! I recommend this salon, it is my favorite! read more

Go here and ask for your hair to be colored by Trish. She's the first person I've ever been happy with and she knows what she's doing. She did my hair at break neck speed and it came out looking perfect. I had gotten my haircut and colored by two other ladies there and didn't come out happy. I'm glad I gave the place a second chance because Trish did everything and now I can't imagine not going there for my hair. read more

I went here for the first time on Saturday. A remarkable experience, to say the least. I received a consultation and tour upon arrival. I did single process color, cut and blow dry. My hair looks outstanding!! Very manageable. The entire atmosphere in this salon is both welcoming and professional. The place itself is very beautiful. The one on one treatment is paramount. I have followed him since he started (we were both in our 20's) in Garden City! I now live an hour away and still travel to see him. I have blonde hair which can be difficult to "look" natural. I have NEVER been disappointed. I get compliments constantly through the years on my color. The employees are accommodating, extremely professional, but most importantly warm and friendly. I have been using this salon for color for a few years, ( I do NOT recommend their cuts, but that's another story), but after my stylist left, I switched to a new person (Sue?/Ceu) and had the absolute worst hair coloring experience of my life. She completely did not listen to what I requested, used a much different shade than I was comfortable with, and assured me that in a few days, I would be "psychologically used to how it looks". I politely explained this is not what I was looking for, and this was met with a comment that"hair is not the most important thing in someone's life and I should get over it". Needless to say, I was taken aback by the complete lack of respect and complete absence of professionalism. A few days later, my hair obviously still looked terrible, I was getting comments from everyone that saw me saying I needed to go back and get this corrected. When I called to see if someone else could fix it, the front desk girl was very rude and defensive and took Sue's side without listening to me at all. Her attitude was so shocking I wish I recorded it. Overall, it appears this place is not used to criticism of any sort. Arkadiy offered to fix it (this was the right thing to do) but I was too traumatized and ended up having it fixed at different salon. If you follow a stylist here, you will probably be fine-- the place is clean enough and the prices are reasonable. But PLEASE do not try someone new. If you don't like the result, you may be treated very hurtfully and have to spend a lot of money getting it fixed :-( read more

Tricia did my hair today and I love her talent! My hair was really dark with highlights that were on the yellowish side. It just looked a mess. She lightened my whole head with highlights and it came out even! I'm absolutely loving the shade of blonde and the cut she gave me (I showed her a picture.) I will def be back to see her. read more
