Very good haircutting establishment. Bright and clean. Ample parking. Entire staff was polite. I arrived more than 20 minutes early for my appointment (they take walk-ins also). They took me immediately, even though I told them I'd be happy to wait. My hair was cut by Ellen. Friendly and professional. She asked what I wanted (simple short buzz), paid attention. At end of cut, I asked for an adjustment to the cut which she fixed exactly how I asked. One aspect that is disappointing to me is that they charge as high as every other establishment ($25 men's cut). Inflation notwithstanding, Supercuts appeal always was that they charged less than other barbers/salons. This is the only reason that kept me from a higher star rating. Aside from the non-competitve cost, I recommend visiting there for a cut. I'll most likely be going back. read more

I no longer recommend this salon. It was downhill all the way from my early positive experience. When I had color done, on two occasions they left the dripped color on my face and neck the whole time while the hair color was setting so it was almost impossible to get off and I left feeling very sloppy. Also while the job was being done I felt the stylist had her attention seriously divided. The salon is very small for the kind of traffic expected in this area. It invariably has wait times of an hour or more, frequently they are so overloaded that they block you from doing online check in. Speaking of traffic the parking lot is a nightmare. I drive a few minutes to the New Hyde Park location now and am very pleased with them. read more

One star for making my wife cry. My wife talked me into bringing her to this location because it is only 5 minutes from our home. Five years ago I was treated so poorly by the rude staff that I walked out without a haircut. I planned on never returning. I made the mistake of giving this location a second chance. I attempted to check in via the Supercuts app but the app would only permit me to call the store. Since it was prior to opening, I left a message. We decided to drive over and wait in lot until they opened. The door was open and we waited until 10:00 before my wife entered. She was rudely told that they were busy opening and to come back in 10 minutes. While my wife was standing outside the door I received the callback from my message. I was told that they were very busy and would not be able to take me until after 12:30. I informed the voice on the phone that the appointment was for my wife who they had waiting outside the front door. My wife told me that the associate was gruff while explaining that she could not take her because her hair was too long and offered to reschedule later in the week with $5 discount. You may keep your five dollars, your poor service, and your poor scheduling. We will be going elsewhere. I drive the extra miles and frequent the Plainview Supercuts where my family receives excellent service. We will continue to do so. read more

My problem is Rose the manager at the Carle Place, NY salon, she has cut my hair twice (second time I had no choice) and both cuts were the WORST I have ever gotten in my life. Thank God for Maria, she was able to fix my hair and we had to go short to balance out the bad uneven cut I got from Rose. If I could give zero stars I would. If you care about what your hair looks like at all, DO NOT get your hair cut here. This was genuinely the worst haircut of my life. I had an appointment for 5:15 yet wasn't seen until almost 6. And I wish that was the worst part of my experience. I just wanted a half inch trim just to clean up my ends, but the hairstylist went wild and cut off 4 inches on one side of my hair and about an inch on the other side. So I looked like a psychofreak with extremely uneven hair, and had to go back to get it evened out. I had been growing out my hair since the summer, and I'm now back to square one with short hair that I absolutely hate. And after all that, even when I cried as they evened out my hair and I saw how short and ugly it looks now, they refused to give me my money back. Been here twice for my toddler. Had Diana the second time and she was so sweet and patient with my little one.

I received the worst hair cut of my entire life today. I asked for a fade, and what the stylist did is something that I think resembled a fade. But then I asked for her to take it down to the skin, and she told me that she "wouldn't charge me double" for having to do it again. She shouldn't have charged me a dime for the crime she committed on my hair. In my entire life I've never had a more rushed, painful, and choppy haircut. I tipped $10 because of the earlier threat to charge me double, and I had to immediately go somewhere else and pay more money to have this absolute nightmare fixed. I've never cut hair before but I am 100% confident that I could have done a better haircut by myself looking in the god damn mirror. I wish I knew the stylist's name so I could personally tell everyone going to this establishment to completely avoid her. I'd rate 0 stars if I could. Never going here again. I have been here 3 times. The 1st time I was delighted, perhaps because my expectations were so low. I found the stylist reasonable pleasant & very responsive. The 2nd time, I was frustrated. I felt that the stylist was just taking little snips off & even commented on it. She was neither amused nor responsive. She kept taking little snips &, as it turns out, accomplished nothing. When I went to work, my hair looked like a giant mop sitting on my head & my boss just said, "Oh. You ... cut your hair." I was mortified. I went back because they have a guarantee that if you're not happy they'll fix it for free. This time I went back to the person who had helped me before. This time, she was very cold & put out. I had trouble describing what the problem was & she couldn't really see that my hair looked shaggy & unruly rather than trim & clean. Eventually, I got a cut that was "good enough" & I was tired of the process. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Called ahead and was told to come in in an hour, I explained I am on a timely crunch and was guaranteed I would be seated at the scheduled time. Got there was told I have to wait 15 min- okay annoying but no problem, 35 MIN after those 15 min I finally asked when I would be seated to which a response was whenever they were finished with who was seated. I explained I called and made an appointment and was told "we don't take appointments it's just a general time bracket so you have an idea" ... okay let's just run with that, regardless, telling a customer 15 min and taking 50 is unacceptable, paired with the nasty ass attitude of the desk worker that day made me never want to return. The only reason this place deserves it's 2 stars is bc Nikki is one of the best stylists I have found, and separately she deserves a 5+ star rating, i have been in to see her numerous times, and tell her what length i want to stick at, and shes never dissapointed with her cut and styling ideas when told to do whatever she thinks, i always leave with something totally different and 10x more amazing than i could have ever thought of. (she wasn't in the last time I went in), but I would love to return to see her any time to do my hair, as she is all professional, friendly and talented at what she does, however if the rest of the staff does not magically learn common customer service etiquette I will not be returning. read more

Today I made an appointment over the phone on 9.26 Saturday for a 4:45 wash and blow out. Got there on time. I came to the store and I told them I was here then at 510 the woman called me over to the chair and told me to have a seat I said no I need my hair washed first then blown out. She then said I dont have time for that! She said it would take her 45 mins to do my hair and there were other people and she only had a 15 minute gap she said then lied and said whoever made my appointment must have thought I only wanted my hair cut. Complete lie being the woman repeated it. Extremely rude. I told her I spoke to someone on the phone who said it was fine. A man with 2 kids walked in after me and his appointment was after mine as well. Another young man came in also who's appointment was also after mine. I recently had to switch barbers as the Merrick area is currently lacking, and it has definitely been worth the travel to come here. The staff are friendly and excellent ar remembering details/haircut numbers/ etc. They also work very hard trying to make your hair right, and making sure to suggest the right products to make your hair healthy and easier to manage. Brittany is a champion, she is often handling multiple clients at one time and moves like a blur. She's very gracious and good for a chat, and takes pride in her work. I had a legit horrible experience here today. I always find when the younger girls do my hair they are very friendly and understanding of my needs and the look im going for without ever making me feel judged. I gotten haircuts at this location where the girls and i laughed about bleaching hair and changing hair colors all the time and like i said NEVER felt judged. Today i came in hoping for that same experience. Its around the holidays so my budgets is incredibly tight and i only wanted a trim to get ride of my dead ends. (I bleach and tone my hair myself and recent changed products and my hair did not take to it very well) anyway i sit in the chair and the woman Joe (Jo?) Proceeds to tell me how dirty my hair is. Okay? I washed it the day before (i space out my washings very carefully as to not dry out my hair) i would have been fine with anything this woman said to me as im very easy going but her whole demeanor was like malicious. She told me they have a "clean hair policy" and that the sissors would slip and give me an "ineffective haircut" okayy i tried to get more info bc i really didnt want to spend extra money and i was GENUINELY confused if she was trying to make more money or just thought my hair was gross. I gave in to the wash and when i tried to give her a history of my hair she interrupted and negated EVERYTHING I SAID. i was literally like what is this ladys problem. Told her i had a "lob" (long bob) which she quickly said "A WHAT? THATS NOT A THING" and a chemical haircut where she said "you mean Breakage?1?" All of this was said between eyerolls. At this point i wanted my hair cut and to get the hell out of there. She ask me what volume i used and i lied just to avoid her belittling. Im NO professional but i worked at sallys and know how to get my hair blonde with cheap products. She then compared me to the girls who worked there and said "see they bleach but their hair is HEALTHY." I finally said " i know my hair is fried. I used a different toner and ive never had this problem" to which she replied "NO TONER WOULD NEVER DO THIS." Uhm yea it would considering u need to put more developer on your hair? Anyway she told my i had a bloody pimple on my head LOL and made me feel like a homeless person. She was rude beyond comprehension and told me texturizing is for bangs. Okayyyyy so now my hair looks like someone chopped it with a blunt axe and i walked out in actually shock that this ladys in costumer service. Theres no actual way in hell i would go back there. This lady was acting like i did something WRONG TO HER. Okay, I'm not one to write reviews, but I had to take the time to give a massive thank you to Brittany and rave about how incredible of a hair stylist she is. She took me from long basic locks to an adorable bob. She cut my hair up to my shoulders and it looks FANTASTIC. She was so patient with me, calmed me down when I looked visibly stressed about going short, and worked with the entire time. She even cut my hair 3 times to make sure I was okay with the length it was laying at. I absolutely love my haircut and the service I received! I will be coming back to Brittany for sure ! Tatiana from Supercuts from Carle Place, was extremely unprofessional. I was with my daughter explaining how she wants her hair done, and she arrogantly interrupted me telling me to move back, twice. My daughter explained to her how she wanted the hair cut, and proceeded to cut it a bit too long, and not according to what my daughter has explained. When I kindly asked her to please shorten the front of her hair, she answered with "Well this is what your daughter consulted with me.", and insisted that that was what my daughter had asked for. She further went on to take a personal phone call in the back room, came back with an attitude,and cut my daughter's hair in less than 2 minutes , and looked pretty aggrivated. Had my hair cut at this location about 5 times, it just got worse with each visit. The ladies are friendly but the haircut was not good. One of the girls does a nice job, the other ones that've cut my hair are not so good. They tend to rush and just try to get you through, and the result is a half ass haircut. 2 stars for the young lady that cut my hair, she did a good job and we had a nice conversation. I called that morning and asked if I could make an appointment for "around 1 pm", the woman that answered said they don't take appointments, and to call just before I headed over to get the wait time. . I called around 1, she said wait time was minimal but they did have someone coming in at 1 and 1:30 pm (I thought they didn't take appointments?). I went in about 20 minutes later, and they asked if I called ahead, I said I did, but was told they don't take appointments. She then asked for my name, which I gave, as she looked at a list, and said my name wasn't there. I stated again that I had called in around 10 am, but was told they don't take appointments. She said "did you give a specific time? If you just asked about a general time, they can't take your name." I said I did, I asked about lunchtime, around 1, and she said "well you know lunchtime...." I guess they do take names, but first you have to state a specific time, and it can't be during lunchtime? I'm still confused. Probably wont come back, which is a shame, it's very convenient for me to go during their apparent lunchtime rush that they don't take appointments for (I was there at 1:30 pm, it was me and 2 other people...who had set appointments for 1 pm and 1:30 pm). read more
