How do you charge someone $300 for a professional color service and send them out looking like their hair was done by someone who had absolutely no idea what the hell they were doing? Her hair has multiple inconsistent shades of blonde, uneven tones, dark roots, and blotchy coloring. It looks NOTHING like the reference picture she specifically requested. This is completely unacceptable.
And the worst part? The unprofessionalism started before my friend even sat in that chair.
This is what my best friend texted me!
First of all, Kim showed up 45 MINUTES LATE. She also tried to confirm my appointment at MIDNIGHT the night before. Who the hell conducts business like that? When I called her, I literally WOKE HER UP. That alone should have been enough of a red flag for us to walk away.
But apparently, that was just the beginning of this absolute shitshow.
According to my friend, Kim spent practically the entire appointment talking about herself instead of concentrating on the job she was being PAID to do. She went on and on about her plastic surgery, her health issues, her medication, her personal problems, and every traumatic experience in her life. My friend came in to get her hair professionally colored, not to pay $300 to become someone's unpaid therapist.
There is a time and place to discuss your personal problems, and while you are handling someone's hair with chemicals and bleach is NOT THE FUCKING TIME.
It gets worse.
Another customer showed up, and Kim apparently became so distracted gossiping and talking that MY FRIEND HAD TO KEEP WATCHING THE TIMER AND REMINDING HER HOW LONG THE BLEACH HAD BEEN IN HER HAIR.
Read that again.
The PAYING CUSTOMER had to monitor the processing time because the supposed professional was too busy talking to pay attention to her own work.
Are you fucking kidding me?
My friend was already uncomfortable with Kim's behavior, but she tried to remain polite and trust that this woman at least knew how to do her job. Clearly, that trust was misplaced.
And what did she get for her patience and $300? A completely botched color job with several different levels of blonde, inconsistent coloring, and roots that were left dark. It looks unfinished, uneven, and absolutely nothing like what she requested.
But what really pisses me off is that my friend may be getting ENGAGED IN A FEW DAYS.
Her boyfriend has been dropping hints about proposing, and this appointment was supposed to help her feel beautiful and confident for what could be one of the most important moments of her life. Instead, she's calling me in tears because her hair looks nothing like she wanted, and now we're scrambling to find a competent color-correction specialist to fix this mess before her possible engagement.
Do you understand how upsetting that is? She trusted someone with her appearance, paid hundreds of dollars, and walked away feeling humiliated and devastated.
I don't care about your plastic surgery. I don't care about your personal drama. I don't care about your gossip. And I certainly don't think your paying customers should have to supervise you while you handle chemicals on their heads.
If you're charging professional salon prices, then act like a fucking professional. Show up on time, pay attention, follow the reference photo, monitor the chemicals yourself, and actually deliver the service someone is paying you for.
Your customers are not paying to hear your entire life story. They're paying for your expertise, your attention, and your ability to do their hair correctly.
The fact that my friend paid $300 to leave in tears with a botched color job is absolutely ridiculous.
And now someone else has to spend hours correcting what should have been done properly the first time.
This wasn't just disappointing. Based on what my friend experienced, it was an embarrassing display of poor time management, lack of professionalism, and unacceptable customer service.
I am absolutely disgusted, and I think my friend deserves a FULL REFUND. She should not have to pay another stylist hundreds of dollars to correct this disaster because Kim couldn't give her the attention and service she paid for. RUN!!! Do not waste your money!!
