But if you're like me, want to get in and out, and enjoy friendly and courteous service, and want a job well done - Sue's Nails is the place for you. Sue is great, she's personable, funny and highly skilled. As are her techs Cathy and Marina. If you have any problem-areas or issues they will make the best recommendation for you without trying to "sell you" anything you don't need. If you break a nail the next day, stop in and they'll fix it free. Walk-ins are welcome but they do get busy so often times the wait is about the standard time of a mani or pedi. Most walk-ins I see just say they will run other errands and come back. I prefer to make appointments and when I do I am rarely, rarely waiting. They are a very friendly bunch as well. The majority of their clientele are regulars so the place turns very much into a social club where everybody can talk together. Or, if you're seeking quiet time, which I often am, it is not too loud and you don't have to engage. The prices are also excellent. Compared to other like-nail salons, the prices are HIGHLY competitive. And they are a fraction of what you might pay at a full service spa where you might go to enjoy a massage, facial or other treatments. They also stay on top of latest technologies. Core offerings: mani, pedi, spa pedi, gel manicure (new technology), LCN (my standard), acrylic, waxing (full body) and more. I've been going to Sue's Nails for as long as I've lived in the Atlantic Highlands area and would never think of changing. Thank you Sue for the years of great service.

They did a fantastic job with 2 very excited kids who had never had this done professionally before. They let them pick one color for each finger and made sure they were comfortable and talked to them. The service was absolutely wonderful, felt like we had been coming there forever! Their nails did look fantastic and they gave them this hard polish that was like bullet proof and has still held up on the girls, which is damn impressive. My wife loved it too. It's such a relaxing atmosphere compared to a generic nail salon, my wife loved it and said she can't wait to come back. So, for any guys looking for something this was a fantastic spot and glad I surprised the ladies in my life with this spot. The prices are reasonable (or so I am told). Some were great for a short while but after some time started falling short of my standards. That has not been the case here. I have been booking services at Lavo for around 5 months now and my nails have never looked better. For starters, they have an all-star receptionist. She is so kind and helpful and on top of her job! They are a very busy salon and yet I never have trouble booking an appointment. They are as accommodating as can be. Even when they miss my phone call, I instantly receive a call or text back. I have been serviced by several nail technicians and they are all so very talented. I never bother booking with a specific tech because I know that no matter who I see, they will do an amazing job I was recommended doing soft gel manicures and it has been the best decision ever made. My career is very physical so i would often have a lot of wear and tear on my nails but not with soft gel. The gel polish never chips and my nails have never been stronger. I am usually able to go 4 weeks with my nails still looking great but ready for a fill. I love this salon and as long as I live within a drivable distance I will never change. They are cash or zelle/venmo only. So be prepared. And in my opinion they are charging fairly for services considering the quality of the work. Thanks Lavo!

I told her to simply to stop because it was burning but she instead starting roughly buffing my nail while it was still heavily bleeding. She used an acrylic tip to rip the nails off my hands instead of soaking first. Do not go there unless you want to get an infection.

Midway through the service, I was suddenly told I had to pay an extra $5 in cash for "taxes." They claimed it was in the fine print, but I had read it thoroughly beforehand and there was no mention of any additional fees. I only paid the extra fee because I was satisfied with the job being done. I decided to give them another chance because I was genuinely happy with the quality of the manicure. For my second visit, I booked a gel manicure + gel pedicure using another Groupon. When I called to make the appointment, I was actually told about the $5 fee. However, halfway through the service, the technician told me I couldn't use the Groupon because I wasn't a "new customer." When I asked why this wasn't mentioned over the phone, she just kept repeating that she couldn't accept it. After some back-and-forth, she finally agreed to take the Groupon. The nail work itself is solid -- clean, well-done, and long-lasting. However, the repeated bait-and-switch tactics around Groupon vouchers and surprise fees left a bad taste. Management seems to rely on this trickery, which is disappointing and dishonest. I won't be returning.
