Definitely a salon with great service that keeps me coming back. Over 2 years ago I was recommended to a stylist. My goal was to have long, healthy, and groomed hair. I was a bit skeptical at first with no direction to go. After a couple appointments and getting comfortable with my stylist she left! I was re-directed to a new stylist, which had me nervous because I didn't expect the new stylist to see the vision set in mind...BOY WAS I WRONG! If you are making an appointment make sure you get Jenny (there are two Jens at Elan so don't get confused "Jenny" is a master stylist/colorist). I highly recommend her. Not only is she a joy to talk to Jenny's skills are superb and helps get the hair you want. She was loaded with suggestions and tips for my vision on what I wanted. She got me into that comfort zone where I can really love my new look. I received two balayages from her, which had me nervous because of my thin hair but they came out great and my hair is still healthy if not healthier! I unfortunately had a terrible experience with my coloring service. Before my appointment I called and explained in detail what I needed and was told which service to book. I followed their instructions and booked online. While discussing the service at the beginning of my appointment, the stylist asked if I usually used toner at other salons and I said yes. Afterward, the stylist barely spoke to me and didn't take the time to ask about the basics, like which side I parted my hair on or my hair type. I finished in the bowl and she proceeded to cut my wet bangs in the middle and didn't touch the sides/edging even though I specially requested curtain bangs. My hair is curly and needs some product + air dry to style properly, but she just roughly dried some of it to "show me the color" and put zero product in, so I left with straw-textured hair and my natural curls/waves a mess. I went to pay and the price came back significantly more expensive than the quote I got online. When I asked to see a breakdown of the service, they initially just said that they'd send a receipt. I pressed to learn the cost of each individual aspect of the appointment, and they explained I'd been charged an additional $50 for "gloss." I told them I'd never agreed to a gloss/glaze, and they said it was the same thing as toner, which is simply not true. I feel very frustrated in the lack of transparency and poor communication. For $320, I'd expect basic communication and customer service. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

I've followed Ashley on Instagram for a long time and have always wanted to get my hair done by her. She exceeded my expectations! I received so many compliments from my guests. When I was there I also got my makeup done Samantha Lynn. I don't usually wear makeup so I was a little nervous but she went super light on the makeup and worked with me the whole way through. She went through multiple lash styles with me and was so patient with me indecisiveness. Overall, I had the best experience and I definitely recommend them for your wedding day! read more

I saw Megan Smith for a hair cut , and unfortunately I can not give any stars. I only received a 1/2 of a hair cut. just the back. I showed her a simple short hairstyle that I can easily manage (as I'm disabled, and I left deeply disappointed. I didn't go back for her to "fix" my hair, because I am under the impression that she did her best. So I am stuck with this mess until I receive my ck in Dec. so I can get a real hair cut. Been here many times. Prices just raised 5$. 46$ for a blow out. That's not necessary. Rebekah takes her time to try to do what you like. I'd like to go weekly for a blow out but shore prices? I don't think so. People here go to the beach a lot! Lucky if style lasts two days! 35$ is a fair price. Most blow outs take 15 minutes! And they charge 2$ extra for a disposal fee for foil wraps n hairspray cans! What? No no no. read more

My third review for this salon. I went to Jill for a cut and balayage. I've been going to Elan for a while now and they had my info for the balayage. Jill was very informative, I had some hair loss from medication, she assured me it was growing back (thank you biotin and collagen supplements) and she pointed me to a shampoo they sell that can help the process. The color looks great, perfect for a spring brightening and the cut is exactly what I wanted, shaggy without it looking like Mrs Brady. The salon is great and you can't go wrong with whomever you end up with. I highly recommend Jill and her expertise. read more

The one girl who cut my hair was so nice. The girl who colored it was (fake nice). My hair came out to over $400 Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if it actually looked like it was worth it but I was extremely disappointed. Yes, I know the full headed balayage is costly & I was prepared. I would have thought maybe $300 at most. I had a haircut as well that was $65. I do not know where $400 came in. Taylor did not tell me anything about the hair mask. She just puts it in my hair without my consent and thought she was just doing that as a nice gesture. I would have said no. That is an extra $65. I gave them a tip and was on my way. I didn't even complain. I just feel badly now that I spent so much money on my hair that doesn't even look like I wanted. It's awful. I felt taken advantage of. I'll never go back there again. Prices are honestly ridiculous. I know I had dark hair and it's hard to pick up the first time but $400? I really, really want to love this salon. Based on all the reviews I read and constant stuff I see on my Facebook feed, it looks awesome. They made an appointment with Jenny because I wanted and experienced stylist. I said what I wanted, she cut it a bit shorter than I thought she was going to do, fine it only grows back. But, it wasn't straight and a chunk was missing in the center. I called expressed my dissatisfaction and the made am appointment with someone else to "fix" it. She was really nice the cut was, okay. Awful Work Had a master educator work on my hair didn't listen to anything I said . I wanted lowlights but dark like my natural color not dark blonde gold which is what she gave me I wanted brown just a few to break up my light blonde highlights. Now I'm brassy yellow. As for my cut not what I expected for an educator big whole in my right side of angles . She obviously couldn't work with the density of my hair one side is shorter than the other . She never measured my face frame not looked at it dry . I would not consider this a top salon mediocre at best maybe she just isn't a stylist for me but wasn't worth the money. First time here today. Had a blowout and styling by Jessica. The salon is pretty. And clean. Everyone seemed very friendly and professional. Unfortunately I probably won't be back. When I called ahead to inquire about pricing I explained my hair type fully to be sure of pricing but also to make sure I got a stylist who could handle my hair type. The receptionist assured me that wash, blow and style would be $41 and Jessica was a great fit. But when I went to checkout they told be it would be $51 because my hair took the stylist longer. Um,... That isn't my problem. I asked to speak to a manager-- she was busy with a client but told the receptionist she could honor the price given to me over the phone. Great. My hair- Jessica was very sweet but it just isn't love. I came in with a picture of exactly what I wanted. Tight beach waves. Something I get often. That's not at all what I got. I got some loose curls of some kind. Not really styled. While she was blow drying, I had to ask if she was leaving my roots wet for a reason, but it was clear she was just not getting them. She assured me she would go back over them and she did [this is maybe why it her longer] but still the blow out wasn't great. I also had to ask her to smooth out the front and sides of my hair that were frizzy--she was definitely using wayyyyy too big of a brush for that. Overall I feel like this salon maybe services older, simpler clients. I mean, I feel like beach waves are a pretty popular look but she didn't really get it. I walked into this salon based on its great reviews.. Mischa did my haircut and color. She did such a perfect job - better than expected! You know you got the perfect stylist when after you wash your hair and don't even need to style your hair to look good! I can actually just wash and go -if I choose! I go see Mischa every few months and trust her. She travels to conventions to keep updated on hair trends while also giving classes to other stylists. I always know after I get my hair done with her, I'll leave with a glow! I feel lighter, I feel beautiful, I feel like my personality shines through! I dont write reviews but need to start. I've always jumped from hair stylist to hair stylist until a friend told me about Élan. I went for the first time today and I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else. From the moment I walked in the door, to the moment I walked out, everyone was so friendly and it's a great environment. Kara did my cut and blow out. We spoke for a little before we got started, she asked what I wanted and she worked with my requests. She was very helpful and had great recommendations. Ashley(?) washed my hair, that was to die for. I would go back everyday just for that wash!! Kara was great, easy to talk to, could really tell she cared about me being happy with the outcome. Please never let her cut your hair. I am devastated and it will take me 2 years at least to grow out what she has done. I had high hopes based on the reviews that this place would be awesome. I happily made an appointment with a master stylist (more expensive) to ensure getting top notch attention. Unfortunately, the first time my hair hit humidity and after every wash/blowout since, I look like I have a mullet! I don't know how she did it but it's so so awful. I told her I wanted something with minimal maintenance as far as heat styling goes. Now I have to style my hair twice as much as before this cut (to get a semi-acceptable look). I bet they do have some talented artists, but the woman who cut my hair either had a terribly off day or doesn't know how to handle fine hair with a slight natural wave. Because this is the worst cut I've had in decades, I can't risk ever going back. By the way, I waited 6 weeks to write this review hoping my hair would settle into a shape that she envisioned. Nope, still a mullet, every day. It doesn't matter how pretty the salon is or how nice the scalp massages are, if I don't feel pretty afterwards, you missed the mark. :-( read more

Haircuts (although a bit overpriced) are good. However, the coloring service is AWFUL! For past year i've been getting my hair colored here and every time I leave i'm disappointed with the result. My hair is SO brassy in some spots right now and silvery blonde in other areas it looks awful, and this isn't the first time this has happened they always screw up my hair in some way each time I go in for a balayage. So I refuse to pay a lot of $$ for a haircut which means at Elan I got the new practicing beauticians. My first cut was awesome. . I wear a bob . Then I went for an updo and it too was great. I then returned to the beautician who handled the updo . Not so great at all . No fine lines cut into my hair. Could not style my hair. Now I should have called and spoke with someone after a few days , week etc . I'm sure they would have had me back . I hope. Don't think I'll be having the novice cutting my hair anymore . read more

I first came to this salon over a year ago, and because I was so impressed I immediately gave them a great Yelp review the next day. Well, here I am over a year later feeling compelled to once again tell everyone in the universe how wonderful this salon is. Ever since my first blowout I have been going weekly, sometimes twice a week, to get my hair done by the same stylist who did it the first time, Ashley Evan. She is truly phenomenal! To this day I feel so sooo lucky that she is the one who fulfilled my last minute blowout request on that fateful Saturday in April of 2014. My life is seriously forever changed because of her! In addition to the weekly blowouts, she has given me a few haircuts and several new colors. Every time it comes out even better than I could have imagined. On occasion I've had to go to other stylists at Elan, as there were a few times I needed a blowout when Ashley wasn't working. Lauren and Taylor both also do an incredible blowout - I'm always very, very pleased with the job they do. Highly recommend them both! Mischa and Nadine have also given me a good blowout in the past- I don't think you can really go wrong here. They really emphasize education and all the stylists seem to truly be concerned about the satisfaction and happiness of their clients. Although other reviews have said this, it's worth mentioning again- the scalp massage is not to be missed! It's really relaxing, and it's such a classy touch. Who could pass on free aromatherapy!? I highly recommend that you request Ashley Rose as your hair washer- she gives an AMAZING scalp massage! Cat also does a very good job. I've started getting manicures here too: Amalia does an excellent job! Jessie is great too... you really can't go wrong either way. Once I got my makeup done by Kara, on Halloween, and I got endless compliments on it. She's extremely talented too! There is a referral discount, to both the refer-er and the refer-ee! I send any and everyone here: my family, friends, coworkers and clients, with no reservations whatsoever. I am 100% confident that everyone I send to Elan is taken good care of. I have seen only one instance of a customer who seemed unhappy with their service, and when that happened I personally witnessed the salon owner trying to make things right with the client. They always seem to work tirelessly to make sure everyone leaves happy, even if it means doing something over again. Lastly, I must add that I love not only the stylists but also the salon itself. Their hours are fantastic, it is wonderful being able to book my own appointments online, and they are unbelievably professional at their front desk. Especially Megan- she did me the favor of booking out my appointments for nearly the entire summer! Talk about GREAT customer service!!! I love this place and will never consider going anywhere else again. I know this seems like a lunatic review by someone whose kid works there, but I am simply a very satisfied customer who really feels this passionately about how amazing this place is. My hair was dry and damaged from processing and the sun. I trusted her to do what she thought was best. I am so happy that I did. It has been a while since I felt this good when leaving the salon.
