I highly recommend Lexi at Salon Kokopelli in Brielle. I came in with very grown out blonde that was poorly done by another salon. Lexi knew how to blend it all out so I could look natural again. She did an amazing job of listening to what I wanted (although I didn't explain it very well) and giving me something better than I could have anticipated. I had a mani and pedi here on Nov 6 2023. We are here on vacation for the winter; I have had my nails done for years at the same excellent shop in Houston and I am very cautious about cleaniness. I was impressed with the cleanliness and attention to detail at Salon Kokopelli. I was very pleased with Bree who did my mani and pedi. Some places just give you just one style that the manicurist happens to like and you have to be assertive to get a change. This was not the case with Bree. She did a wonderful job adjusting the style so that I got the results I wanted. She was very thorough, professional, competent and had a gracious and friendly attitude. All the salon employees were friendly and very welcoming. One was wearing cowboy boots! I felt right at home! They have a lovely waiting area with water and coffee and a convenient bathroom. Salon Kokopelli is a wonderful salon. The entire team is professional, courteous, friendly, and efficient. During this difficult period of COVID they are extremely conscientious and safety minded. The salon will go out of its way to accommodate requests, and uses the best products available in the industry including Redken hair color. I have been continuing my search for a really good nail place since I moved here from North Jersey. And sorry this place ain't it! It's not what I expected on the inside, I did think it would b a bit more posh for the prices they charge. Pedicure was fine, nothing outstanding. No one offered me any type of menu of services or choices just a plain old pedicure. Nothing impressive. Got gel overlay or fill ins. I will b fixing them yet again. The gels r lumpy on some nails and I realize the girl I went to was young and very very nice girl but if ur going to charge high prices then do a good job...the end. I highly recommend Salon Kokopelli for all your beauty needs: hair, nails, and skin. I have been going there since elementary school and they have taken such great care of me over the years. After a staff change and difficulty getting an appointment, I recently tried going somewhere else for a facial and I left feeling very disappointed. First time at this salon today and left extremely disappointed and upset. I have been having hair nightmares and decided to try this salon out. I made an appointment for highlights and a blow out and found out at the end of my appointment that I was not scheduled for a blow out. I have never been to a salon where you get color done and your hair is not blown out to at least check the color. Now as I get home and blow dry it.. my hair is GRAY! Never again. Update: I was offered a complimentary blow out 2 days later as I got home. I blew my hair out and it's literally silver/gray, not the blonde that I asked for. I have been going to Jess L for partial plus highlights and other treatments. She takes such pride and care in her work! She is a hair goddess!!! I'm naturally a brunette with natural blonde highlights that pop out in the sun, but get blonde highlights to keep light year round. I have been going to Salon Kokopelli for about 6 or 7 years now. I started out getting manicures and pedicures, then moved onto facials and now they also do my hair. I love that I can get everything done there. One stop shopping. Mariana is my hairdresser and she does such a great job with my color that people literally stop me in the street and tell me how much they love my hair. She also is a master at vintage style and did perfect finger waves for me last fall for an event. Erta is my esthician and I always leave there feeling like I look 5 years younger. Erin is my nail technician and she is terrific about making sure that the color she picks compliments my skin. Mary, the owner, is a wonderful person and always makes sure everything is running smoothly in her salon. I love going here for everything, and I especially love that everyone who works there makes a point of remembering my name and asking me how things are going. They all even came to see me play roller derby in November. I'm moving to Boston soon, but I am planning on coming back every two months for a cut and color, facial and pedicure. read more

I do not live in the area, but I was in a wedding. The bride picked Salon Kokopelli to do our hair and make up. The salon is very cute and the girls are super nice. The bridal party was able to drink mimosas and munch on bagels. We did the spray make up, which is a lot better than normal foundation. Less cakey, more natural. We all had different skin tones. The make up artists made sure we all had similar looks so nobody stood out in pictures. My hair girl was great. If you have bangs you know that you need a trim every 2-4 weeks. I had high hopes to grow my bangs out for the wedding. An up-do looks better when the bangs are to the side, rather than the front. Unfortunately, my bangs did not grow as fast as I thought and did not look good to the side or to the front! She quickly trimmed my bangs and made them look rather cute in an up-do! Thank you for that! I suggest his salon for anyone in the area, even if you are not a regular. read more

I am very particular in service and class when it comes to my hair style and this salon has outperformed my expectations each and every time. The staff is curteous, Chelsea V is spot on with my hair and her direction with what we should do. What to expect: Like I said initially, staff is very courteous. When setting an appointment with the salon, it is automatic that I receive a call two days prior to the appointment confirming the time and location of my next appointment. There's no forgetting when a session is coming up. If anything changes, the stylist works with you to accomodate your schedule as well as hers. The first time you receive a service at the salon you'll receive an initial consultation with the stylist to determine your wants and needs in your particular fashion. Chelsea V is very meticulous about getting it right each and every time in my personal case. Everyone that works there is friendly, from the owner, who I have met one occasion, to the receptionists to your stylist. For a guy like me that enjoys getting the treatment, this salon is a perfect fit. They also have all products necessary so that I do not have to search near and far to keep my hair in great shape. I love Salon Kokopelli! I've been getting my hair cut by Johna for a few years now because I'm always so happy with the job that she does. She knows exactly how work with my hair's texture and thickness, making it so much easier for me to style on my own! She makes suggestions but is never pushy, and she also really listens to what you want, which I love. Johna not only cuts my hair, but she did my updo when I was in my sister's wedding! I absolutely loved the French braids and twists she put in my hair, finishing it off by placing some subtle baby's breath in the braids. All of the girls in the wedding party got our hair and make-up done at the salon, and the employees were really accommodating with the mimosas and breakfast finger foods that we brought in. The only reason that I did not give this 5 stars is because my eyebrow wax cost $19. I have never heard of such an outrageous price! I came in as a first time client armed with pictures of the general cut I wanted and explained fully that I wanted the back left long - I made a point of showing the stylist what I expected because I have a long hair line. She proceeded to cut and cut and eventually gave me what I call the "elderly lady" cut - VERY short - it screams " I'm unable to do anything any longer so cut it all off - I can't even lift a hair dryer". For this I paid $69.00! I can get it done better at the $15 walk-in places - Kokopelli won't see me again- the longer I look at it the more I hate it! read more

My Mom made me an appointment at her salon; Salon Kokopelli in Spring Lake and I had Kathy cut my hair. This was hands down the best haircut I had in my life!!! I wanted to get an A-line bob and she gave an even better cut than I imagined! The way she cut and put in layers gave me movement and style I didn't have before. I get out of bed in the morning and I love my bed head! It looks like I spent an hour styling it. I don't know how she did it but it's now over 5 months ago and it still looks amazing. I forget the name of the girl who did my spa pedicure, but let me just say it was NOT WORTH the high price of $50+. It really sucked. And the pedicure seating area is very uncomfortable and open and nowhere the cozy, relaxing area I'd prefer to enjoy myself in. The girl who did my pedicure talked A LOT to me, the pedicurist next to her, and her client. Every time she would talk to them or me, she would stop what she was doing in my pedicure. Stopped rubbing the lotion, filing my nails, whatever she was doing.. she would just stop and talk. It was ridiculous. It was very hard to relax and enjoy myself in such a distracted and inconsistent area. I tried giving her short or minimal responses so she would get the idea I just wanted to relax and enjoy my feet being done, but she would still talk to her co-worker and the other client. Like.. why would you stop massaging someone to talk?!? Do you not realize it ruins the sensation and relaxation factor?!? Ridiculous. I will not be coming back.. complete lack of comfort from this salon. Also the receptionist was very nasty and unwelcoming, lol. I love it here. Bella does my hair and I love her. She listens to me, but more importantly, I listen to her. I have never been disappointed. Bella is funny, talented and amazing. Now to my nails. Audra does my mani pedis. I have never pampered myself. Hair cuts yes, nails; never. I first met with Emily and she was wonderful. Fast forward to Emily on maternity leave. So I made an appointment with Audra. Amazing. I now get my mani pedis done on a regular basis . Now, although I will stay with Audra as we have had several appintments, Emily is awesome also. Just had the best "winter rescue" facial with Jess Marie. She took the time to ask about my skin regimen, explain the various facial products to me, and recommended other tips to try to help my congested skin (without being overly pushy to buy products like they sometimes are at other spas). It was a magnificent hour of my day and money well spent. The oatmeal masque was so soothing after some heavy duty extractions. The bed was warm, the music was heavenly, and I felt so relaxed. I also enjoyed the dermologica products, mists, and oils. The neck and scalp massage was an added bonus!! This salon is horrible. I went years ago and the first experience was just as bad as the others. The stylist ruined my hair; I had to have the owner fix it. I then went back to have my eyebrows done 2 years ago and the girl did such a bad job. I then it gave it one more shot and went to their new salon in Spring Lake. The stylist charged me a kings ransom for high llight's and didn't even put them in right. One side had high lights and the other side did not. I had to go back and have it fixed and pay another tip. My friends have had bad experiences here as well. They over charge and have no clue about the salon business. I have no idea how this place hasn't gone under. Super cuts does a better job.
