It…read more "Stay Away from LHR (Laser Hair Removal Skin and Vein Center) in Rochester, Michigan" DScarlett Posted 15 Aug 2012 spent $450 in 817 North Main street while researching permanent make up, I called LHR (Laser Hair Removal Skin and Vein Center) and spoke to Kristie Malanoski regarding a procedure that I was interested in. Advising Kristie that I was interested to learn more about Diana Callas' experience with permanent make-up and specifically the feathered stroke used for brows. Kristie advised me that Diana had 30 years in the business and was the creator of the 'feathered technique'. I spoke in detail, explaining that I didn't want an artist that would apply two hard lines on my face for brows therefore, the experience to the technique was vital to me. I inquired about the pictures on the internet, asking if that was all of Diana's work. Kristie, with great conviction stated it was and when asking if she could also provide me with pictures if I came in, she stated that she was certain that Diana was working on a book of her work and could show me. At the time of the appointment, Diana was in her treatment room. There was no one in the reception area to greet pts. She came in and out of the wait area- apologizing and stated she would be right with me. Two hours later, I was able to get in to see her. I waited only due to the fact that I felt that I found someone that would provide me with the permanent make up that I was looking for. During my appointment, Diana was also preoccupied with her service worker. Still not completely nervous- as she ran in and out of the room, I drilled her with questions regarding the feather technique. Showing her pictures that I had, so that she knew what I was looking for. I repeated to her- I do NOT want two hard lines on my face instead, the feathered technique. Diana went as far as to tell me a story about someone that recently came into her facility, requesting that she fill in her brow, removing the feathered look. I asked her for pictures and she showed one picture on her camera, stating that she needed to get a new camera because hers was not working properly. She assured me that she was 'good' at this and I would be extremely happy. I repeated no less than a dozen times, I do not want to hard lines. She laughed- telling me she understands completely. During our appointment- I was talking to her about the poster she had up in her treatment room of the perm-makeup, it was a copy of the example pictures she has on her site. I praised her on her work, stating that the website pictures / poster she displayed in her treatment room looked to be great work. She advised me, laughingly again- 'Oh those aren't my pictures, they are my friends that does this in California'. Our appointment time was a bit chaotic. Diana ran in and our of the room, speaking to a roofer, telling me that it's important that she gets a bad quote for her insurance company. At the end of the procedure, after both brows were applied- she looked at me and stated, 'I should have stopped on your left side but, it's ok- I will fix it at your next appointment'. She said, 'don't worry it will be fine, I don't like them because I am a perfectionist but, you tell people that your brows are a work in process'. When I looked in the mirror, I was mortified to see two hard lines. I asked her about that and she stated, 'don't worry- you are just red and when it heals, they will be what you want. One week later- the brows look the same. I phoned Diana, left a message on her voice mail stating that I was not happy. I received a call back- stating that 'it would be fine'. I have consequently, left two messages to advise her that it is not fine, the work is not what I asked for and wanted to know how she was going to rectify this. Not hearing back- I sent an email advising that I wanted a refund to some capacity as I would not be returning for a follow up treatment and the work was 100% not as she stated it would be. To date, I have not heard back from Diana or, anyone from her clinic. I was charged $450 for the procedure and am paying three times this amount to have them removed, via laser treatments with a reputable health provider. Always looking for my go to eyebrow spot. And I think I found it!…read more Booking online was super easy and simple. I have always wanted to know what was inside that building/house especially with that gorgeous curved front door. Passed it so many times on University. Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I get for cleanliness sake and winter bringing water/salt, but I wasn't expecting it. I walked in and noticed another patron standing inside with her socks on so I followed suit. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.

Those red splotches after waxes that I thought were just part of getting waxed? Nonexistent with Katie. I am genuinely convinced she is magic because I never knew a wax could be this painless before AND after! Also as a gal who has always struggled with intense ingrown hairs, ones that doctors told me could only be fixed with laser, I was stunned when Katie took the time to get all of them out and coached me on how to prevent them in the future, truly above and beyond! She's is the most thorough esthetician I've ever been to, and she creates such a warm and welcoming environment that I am actually looking forward to my next wax!

I have the dates, receipts, voicemails, social media and email correspondences of my communication to your providers and office. I did not stop contacting your office, your office refused to respond to any communication from me after an initial call back with the provider and office manager. This is also evident on this website by the lack of response to my initial review and lack of timely response to my second update. This timeline is documented. As previously mentioned the provider stated my BURNS were normal (even when my initial provider at your office stated otherwise) and everything would subside even after I expressed my deep concern. She conveniently called it "possible bruising" in the voicemail. As I stated in my initial review my session with a different provider at your office was completely unremarkable, therefore I know firsthand these burns should not have occurred. There is no consensus on the gold standard treatment for skin dyschromia after severe burns have occurred. Dyschromia after burns remain a therapeutic challenge. This is not an easy fix as you have suggested. Dismissing or downplaying a patient's experience such as this one is purely shameful.

They applied 50 units, which is much more than I had ever received before, yet I did not get the expected effect. In addition, one of my eyebrows became droopy, which made me feel very sad and dissatisfied with the procedure. I returned to the clinic looking for a solution, but unfortunately, the person who assisted me gave many excuses and, to make matters worse, wanted to charge me for additional injections to correct a problem caused by the original procedure. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this clinic.

I scheduled and confirmed a Botox appointment for 5:00 PM. I have also made it clear to the staff during past visits--including as recently as November 2025--that I specifically prefer Botox because other injectable products do not work well for me and have caused adverse reactions in the past. At this appointment, I was not informed that a different product would be used. The injector proceeded with the treatment, and only after the injections were completed did I learn--when reviewing the receipt emailed to me while still at the center--that I had been charged $728 for Letybo, not Botox. I was never asked for consent to use Letybo, did not sign any treatment or product authorization forms, and did not sign a credit card receipt for the service. When I questioned the receptionist, I was told that Letybo was "the same thing," which is misleading. Botox and Letybo are different products with different formulations and dosing. After the treatment, I experienced facial pain and migraine symptoms that I have never experienced with Botox. Because of the lack of transparency and informed consent, I canceled my membership the same day and will not be returning. My concern is simple: I did not receive the service I scheduled or agreed to, and the product used was substituted without my knowledge or approval. I hope the business improves its communication and consent practices so this does not happen to other clients.

I was planning on splurging and getting the most expensive pedicure but turns out i got the cheapest and quickest. I timed it started at 1:58- 2:11 start to finish. It did appear that they were understaffed, as we needed to do our appointments one after another, instead both at the same time, which worked out okay, but was unanticipated considering that we did specify that we had two people. My sister went first, and Kevin took care of her. He would not speak to us and was watching Roblox with his headphones on the whole time. When exfoliating her feet, he went too hard and her toe started bleeding (see pic). The painting part itself looks good, but it was smudged and she called him back over to touch it up. As per mine, I had a woman do mine around 30 minutes into the appointment when she was done with her client. I was excited because I had been watching her with her previous customer and she seemed so amicable. When she came over, I asked her if she was going to do the full exfoliation, cuticle cutting etc (because I had an ingrown toenail that was hurting me) and she started yelling at me that what I was asking her to do would be illegal and she was not permitted to do. Obviously, there was some miscommunication, but I did not appreciate being yelled at. Once she understood what I was asking, she settled down, and I tried to make conversation but she wouldn't talk to me which was overall awkward. I do like how mine turned out, but I did not enjoy how either of us were treated. We did get out in an hour which worked out, but overall, the customer service and communication aspects were incredibly lacking. We chose to go here because they were open on Sundays, but if you're looking in the area for a nail salon on another day, I feel that there are a variety of alternatives that are better. My sister's toe is starting to scab now, but we were concerned about it getting infected and we did need to use a bandaid afterwards. The one thing I will give them is that I changed my mind from a manicure to a pedicure when I came in and they did not care about it that.
