Well, where to begin...
It started innocently enough. First, my normal stylist, who did a great job, was sick...so I had to be rescheduled. Then this stylist left the salon...so I had to be rescheduled again. Very unaccompdating and I had to wait over a month for an opening Then I had to cancel that one (now 6 weeks overdue)...and I was booked for April 20th...but then that stylist was sick and I had to be rescheduled again for April 26th. So now I am 8 weeks overdue, and 5 months since my last haircut. I have very long and thick hair and not getting a haircut is awful. So, after being cancelled on my April 20th appointment, which they were extremely rude about and cancelled the day of as I was on my way to the appointment, I just asked to be booked with the first available stylist. HUGE mistake. I was given to someone who had just gotten their chair that week. Brand new. I fully support people learning and helping them out, but at least have someone check out their work when they are done. They also didn't let me know that she was new or that my appointment would take so long. My appointment on April 26th lasted FOUR AND A HALF HOURS. And that wasn't even with a blow dry, because I didn't have time for it, as I was late for work. This appointment was 1.5hrs longer than normal, and no one from the salon came to check on her or help her out. Since I didn't have time for a blowout, I didn't see the full damage of what she had done to my hair until the next morning. The highlights - holy jesus - I have three stripes on my head - one on the center, and two on either side of my head above my ears that look like racing stripes. It's VERY obvious. Also, she didn't even bother to help hide my greys...like come on - help a sister out. The haircut made me look like a 12 year old that cuts their own hair. I have three different lengths on each side, and the sides are so uneven, even a few of my male customers (men (plural) that barely notice a haircut in the first place!), noticed that my hair was uneven, it's such a difference from each side. I took pictures to post here, but unfortunately I can't. It's epically terrible. She also cut off WAY too much. I asked her to keep it as long as possible, and my once mid-back length is barely past the shoulder. I look like a child. Once again, she is new, so I blame the salon, especially for how they handled it afterwards. Also for reference, I paid $265 for someone who it was their FIRST WEEK and spent 4.5 hours of my life there that I can no longer get back. I called and let them know, very calmly actually, that I was really unhappy with the cut and would like it fixed. Their solution was to get one of the owners to fix it - great - however the owner is only available Wednesday and Thursday, in the early afternoon. I told them, I can't make that, as I work for a living, and their response was, "so do the rest of us." I had already taken 4.5 hrs for them to ruin my hair, the least that they could do would be to be flexible and just fix my cut early in the morning. I get it, no one wants to get up earlier...but I don't think that they even cared about how absolutely TERRIBLE this haircut is. Honestly, it's just 1 step above a bowl-cut. This is what they do for a living and if they don't care about what they present or how their customers feel when leaving the salon, then what are they even doing running a salon? I get it, it's a haircut, it's not the end of the world, but to be so rude about it - unnecessary. I asked them to just refund my haircut and I am happily going to 6 Salon in Royal Oak to have it fixed by a group of professionals! read more
