Courtney does an amazing job cutting wavy/curly hair so it can curl better ok it's own. She (and Anthony who assists her) made sure to explain all the steps so I could replicate the style from home. I called to make an appointment this week and they told me that there was an opening at 2:15pm if I could get there within minutes. I asked the simple question (or so I thought) of how much my cut would be and the receptionist explained that it would be $45-$55. I told her I have long straight hair and she then replied again that the cost would depend on whether I would be getting a straight cut or layers and I replied I was getting a straight cut trim of about an inch. She said in reply the cost would be $45-55 again. I told her what makes it one or the other and she said it would depend on the hair dresser. I was annoyed and perturbed that this joker of a receptionist had zero sense on how to properly answer my question before I would commit to an appointment. How hard is this question to ask the stylist? I feel most salons try to nickel and dime their guests for every little service now. I find it annoying there is an extra charge for a wash and blow dry. I have a simple and uncomplicated hair, straight abs and inch cut, that's what I do always. These salons make it seem like I am asking for some architectural hair magnificence of a do. read more

I had my hair done here about a month ago. I purposely scheduled a consultation because I wanted to MAKE SURE what I wanted could be possible. I am also licensed and I was referred here considering my specialty is nails and not hair. I showed pictures of what I wanted and it was made clear that it can be done. All of the signs were clear that the stylist didn't know what they were doing. It's pretty bad when other stylists go behind their back and whisper because they know the stylist just made mistakes. I wanted something close to an ombre (like what is shown) Obviously I was furious as you can see I didn't get anything I wanted. I was sitting with BLEACH in my hair for over 2 hours! (Bleach will dry after time and not work but still damage your hair) I gave them benefit of doubt. The manager knew my hair was messed up; when I called the next day they had no issue returning my my money but when I went back to get my hair fixed (just re looted back to natural) there was miss communication. Usually when your hair is bleached or lightened they can only deposit color with a protein filler on and be ok. Come to find out he just threw a Demi on there without telling me. I do not recommend. I owe much of the credit to Kurt (my fav stylist) who consistently exceeds my expectations with service and the overall experience. His attention to detail and product knowledge is always catered to the unique needs of my very fine (naturally dishwater) blonde, locks. Cut and color are not an easy task when it comes to these finicky tresses which he has now mastered. He has taken the time to learn how my hair responds to different products, never sacrificing the health of my hair. Whenever I feel like trying something new he does it within it's natural limits. The atmosphere is awesome.... Lofty, trendy, artful space with lots of windows! After working long hours the last thing I want to do is sit in more artificial lighting. The Salon is so cute and chic. It almost feels like you are in some sort of NYC loft space. Oh..did I mention the shampoo bowls basically roll out like a bed and there is a TV for you to watch while you are getting washed out. Oh how I love my shampoo with a side of "Fixer Upper". Julia does my color and she is amazing. I have never received so many compliments on my hair color. She is a color master and I trust her with any shade she decides to put on my hair. I cannot express how happy I am that I changed to P. La Roman was recommended by a makeup artist, and I was told he does great work with blondes. Roman has a big client base but I don't ever have a problem getting in. He sees late appts on Thursdays. There is a private parking lot, no need to feed the RO meters. Make sure you ask for your coat back. They will forget. I called to make sure my left jacket was there and turns out they donated it even after I had notified them and told them it was mine. I gave them a second chance and recently got my hair done. I asked for a wash and trim, but the stylist didn't dry my hair? The cloth was taken off me and I was ushered to the receptionist. First visit to P. La was over a year ago, where I received literally the best blowout of my life by Roman. Not sure why I didn't drop everything then and become his client, but I digress. Fast forward to last night when I received the best haircut EVER by Roman. I work in the cosmetic industry but when it comes to my hair, I'm cheap. Coughing up $70 for a haircut (yes, I know that this is standard pricing) was not easy for me. Worth every penny. He could charge $200 and I'd pay it. What impresses me most is how well everyone works as a team at this salon. From being greeted at the desk, coat being taken, drink being served, hair washed, etc I was never left alone or waiting. I was very excited to make an appointment with a devacurl specialist. The stylist was booked and I had to make an appointment a month and a half in advance. I was charged a $30 deposit to hold my appointment. I received a confirmation call 24 hours before my appointment (which was booked incorrectly). When I made the appointment, I penciled it in my schedule while I was on the phone with the receptionist. I strategically booked the appointment around my work schedule. When I got the confirmation call with the wrong date, I was unable to make the appointment. I understand that receptionists make mistakes that are inconvenient, we are all human. When trying to set up another appointment, I was told that I would loose my $30 deposit and needed to make another $30 deposit to hold my new appointment time. Like I said, I was not upset that there was clearly a mistake made by the receptionist, but then they have the audacity to make me pay for her mistake? The women who spoke to me was very rude, saying it was the policy! She admitted that mistakes can be made when scheduling but I still will be charged since I didn't give them enough notice! I was planning on going to the appointment, when it was originally scheduled!!!! Needless to say, I will not be going to this salon and I will tell everyone I know not to as well. Both of my sisters have appointments scheduled that will now be cancelled because of their poor "policies" and rude front desk staff. read more

The front staff are kind and courteous, and do their best to accommodate clients' schedules. After moving out of state I went to a highly regarded salon and ended up with damaged, over processed hair and one of the worst hair cuts I've ever had. I came in with good reviews from friends. I have long black thick hair and wanted to lighten my hair up a bit but still stay natural looking . I made it clear that I did not want blonde in my hair or streaky highlights. I paid $200 dollars for a job that I hate. I could have got the same thing done at a mall salon for way cheaper.
