Listen: these salons, stylists, support staff and owners are awesome. I'm not one to go through the hassle of leaving a review but I literally created a yelp account to do so for r.Collective. I'm very picky about my hair and am learning what I like as I wanted to go shorter. At my first cut short with Dream, it was storming and the power went out at the salon and we didn't get to do the finishing touches, so she gave me a free product had me come back a couple days later for a complimentary cut where I decided I wanted to go even shorter and get bangs. I still was not satisfied with the cut (let me clarify that Dream is an amazing stylist and did exactly what I asked her to do, but I wanted to pick an owner's brain about what would look good on me), so I requested an apt with an owner. Tony got me in the next day and we took it even shorter and he cut it with a razor. He made it look exactly like the picture I showed him but I still was not satisfied with it on me so I requested to come back again for a pixie and he got me in a few days later. I LOVE how the pixie looks on me. It just took me four separate haircuts to get there. I only paid once for the initial cut. And after the last cut Tony still said to give him a ring if anything else needs to be done. This is pristine customer service. Everyone I interacted with was so patient, accommodating and supportive as I learned how I wanted my hair to look. Additionally, both salons (Clawson and Birmingham) are super clean and just cool spaces to hangout when getting a haircut. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend. read more

The manager at the Clawson location is very rude and out of touch. I called as early as I could to inform her I am sick, coughing, feverish and was not able to make it to my appointment. She said the 50% cancellation fee would still apply- so they would rather me come in unwell and sit in a chair for 3 hours uncomfortable and possibly spread this to their workers and clients rather than waive the cancellation fee and say feel better. Ive been coming to this salon for years even after I moved a half hour away! Such a bummer! read more

She does a great job at giving me a simple haircut and going off of any reference photos I bring in. I've been going here for a few years. I love this salon. It's clean, stylish and up to date on the latest trends. I see Cheyenne. She's excellent at color. She definitely an artist. I love that in this salon they take their time. When it's your turn you will receive 100% of their attention. Also, they keep to their schedule. I don't think I've ever waited over 10 minutes. Also, this is the first place that the hair dye hasn't burned my scalp. They use Wella hair color products. Also, the scalp massage is awesome.
