I thought I was in good hands, considering she seemed like a professional with experience, but at the same time you know, I did show her inspiration photos from Pinterest. I made it clear that I wanted it to my shoulders. I never told her that I wanted it any shorter. Pretty much She gave me a boy haircut or a "Pixie Bob cut" but horribly cut. Looks like she put a bowl on my head and just cut around it. There's no style to it. There's nothing and also, it's very uneven in the back which I will attach the photos!!!!! a part of me, wants to go back into the salon and request my money back but I highly doubt that will happen!!!!!!! Even one of the other hairdressers walked by when she was doing the cut and said "oh wow, I didn't know you were going that short" which when she said that it terrified me!!! But again I am way too nice!!!!! But what upsets me most is the fact that I had my friend take pictures of the back of my hair and it is uneven!!!! I mean, I can't even do anything with it. I even made it clear that I still want to be able to put it up at least in a ponytail for work I made it very clear that I knew that we had to take length off and I was OK with that and going to my shoulders but never did. Maria is the owner and takes running her salon seriously. She is often there when I get my hair cut and is overseeing all that goes on there, and cuts hair as well. Michelle, has been my hairdresser for years. I have had a couple of hair styles and color changes, and have been satisfied with each one (Not easy to find someone like that). She is personable, efficient and accommodating. Morgan usually answers the phone, does scheduling and checks you out for payment. She has always been very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, in the Charlestown/Westerly area Yelp hasn't really taken off on anything but restaurants, and even that's debatable. So, I finally stumbled on some older reviews on FourSquare and decided to make an appointment with Paula. Paula is great! She's super friendly and makes you feel very comfortable during a situation which could be considered rather awkward. This wasn't my first Brazilian, however I can see how Paula would be great at helping you feel comfortable and walking you through the process if you are debating getting your first. I was also happy to find out that by rebooking (she suggests every 3 weeks) you're entitled to a reduced rate since it's considered maintenance versus a full on Brazilian. (I do enjoy saving money, however I also know not to go cheapo when it comes to Brazilians. My first experience was horrific, but I guess that's what I get for going to a salon that only charges $29...) I've already booked my next appointment with Paula and highly recommend you do the same!
