Gigi was a fantastic stylist and could read the room as I was there for a slow, relaxing wash and cut. She spoke to me a little but without my having to ask, she let me just enjoy the experience and I didn't feel pressured to have to carry on conversation. She did an incredible job and helped me feel sooo much better after I left, and I even got an eyebrow wax while I was there and Hannah was available to take care of me as well! UPDATE: I was called by the manager Meghan and she was so apologetic and very sincere and apologized profusely. She asked for me to come back so I can see another stylist for the consult. This woman was Awesome. They both were amazing and I'm going to go back to get the color and cut. I knew Aveda would do right by their reputation. I went in with such high hopes to get a trendy style and cut. Having been a patron of two different Aveda salons one in Philly and the other in Northern NJ I was not prepared for the horrible treatment from a stylist before. I did my homework I wasnt asking for anything out of the norm. It was a basic color and cut and she found any excuse to cut me down and shame me. I got up and left. I was ready To spend a few hundred dollars and give her a fat tip she lost Out on that and my desire to ever use an Aveda Salon again. She should be ashamed of herself. I even told her I'm a bit down due to my 19 year passing and hadn't cut my hair since her death and was looking forward to it. She ended up excusing herself For something bogus in the back and left me there 15 Minutes!! NO ma'am! I am not going to be treated like garbage by a person with no class. You can go treat your mom like that, not me. I got up and walked out which was probably her desire. I did get to meet the manager and what seemed to be another stylist who was super nice to me. Unfortunately, I was met with that horrible human the stylist Gigi and it all went downhill from there. She was super judgey. I made an appointment for a cut and perm. I specifically told them I needed someone who was good with perms because my hair is very fine. They booked me for today at 11Am. When I got there the hairdresser said my appointment is only for a haircut and she doesn't have time to do a perm. I would have to make another appointment for the perm. So I just found out that my 18 year old niece went to this shop to get work done to her hair. This would be the first time that she was getting her hair colored and it wasn't until after she was charged the $340 for the work that they told her what she wanted wasn't possible. As a professional, it is their responsibility to say what they can and can't do, and you're not qualified for the job then tell the client that to begin with so they can go to someone who can. Instead this shop robbed my niece. She tipped well and purchased products from them walking out of there having spent almost $500. To take advantage of a young girl like that just shows what kind of shop this is. Would not recommend at all. Go find honest stylists that generally care about doing good work. You could barely tell that anything was done to her hair. She has light brown hair so it should not have been a problem for someone who actually knows what they're doing. read more

Debra is very professional and has a great eye for what looks good on her customers. The products are expensive, but if you want to buy Aveda they have lots of products. I don't like the hair washing stations, they hurt my neck, even with a towel for support. 5 stars for my stylist, and 4 for the salon. I was referred to Debra and I will follow her to whichever salon she works, but she's been her a long time so I will be as well. read more

I expect a high standard when Aveda's brand is involved. Don't you? Authentic Aveda and style inspirations everywhere you look. Clients being serviced in a friendly, inviting way. Willingness to listen and learn from a photograph, discuss and set expectations of a coloring accordingly. Stylishly dressed in black and edgy, well-groomed hair. No, not here. Not even close. I'm new to the area and granted, spoiled by two other Aveda concept salons. This however was the bargain basement, without the bargain. There was nothing remarkable related to the employees' look, style, or attitude which inspired confidence. As we finished my color and style, I asked how we might have brightened my hair color, (as the photo showed): "Well, you don't have that kind of hair, yours will never be bright." Perhaps that expectation could have been set before I spent 3 hours in the chair? The hair color turned out ok, not on the mark but they came closer on this third visit than the last two, one of which (to be fair) they didn't charge me for the color. In order to achieve this, I endured being treated like the "difficult person over 50" of the week. At one point, one of these "top-level colorists" was behind me, several feet away yelling - "Oh, your hair looks great". It didn't register with me that anyone in 2020 would yell at a customer from behind and expect that customer to know who they are yelling at. Covid, it's overkill, but that's fine. It's HOW it's done. From the first step entering the salon, you are being managed..... your purse is taken from you for them to bag it, your temp is taken, a smock swoops out and over you, hand sanitizer is poofed on you (this is AT the front door).... while no less than 3 employees are there to watch. My old salon had a small closet for all of this. They think they are efficient. No one is thinking of how the customer feels. Maybe it's just me, but luxury salons aren't in the prison-intake business. When you are TOLD what to do, during the rest of the steps in the salon, including raise your feet up, stand up now, sit in this chair, no that's not what I'm asking you to do.....hand me that, walk down this hall, take a left and then a right - you are in disbelief. I came to Salon 2000 for a correction from Cortello Salon that gave me highlights instead of an ombre that I wanted. While Cortello may have several stylists that could have made the correction, they still expected me to pay for the color, which to me is wrong because not only was the style wrong, the color was all wrong. I dont think I should have needed to pay for another service when I didnt get what I paid for initially. A yelp review helped me decide on Natasha at Salon 2000, regarding an ombre correction as well. I came in for a consultation and Natasha made me comfortable from the beginning. She made suggestions to make the corrections and never bashed what the previous stylist did, that is what made a great visit- her honesty and willingness to just make things right. I felt comfortable in her chair and I was assured I would be happy, and HAPPY I AM! Natasha not only knows how to do an ombre, she is professional and genuinely wants you to feel and look great! I am 2 months new to the area, and Im glad I have finally found my stylist! The Salon also guarantees you will get what you want, and will never make you pay for a correction, like Cortello was trying to do. Look no further! read more

Just had the worst experience of my life at this hair salon. Booked an appointment for a root touch up with someone that was recommended. She ended up telling me mid way through our initial "consult" that she was going to have to pass me onto someone else...she all of a sudden didn't have time to do my hair..seriously?! Then, another "master" stylist comes to take over and gives me a quote on how much a simple base and partial highlight would cost (not including a blow dry) and that just pushed me over the edge. The fact that this salon thinks they can charge what they do is beyond me...so, besides the unbelievable "pass" off's from one stylist to another, lack of professionalism, wasting my time, and over charging people....DO NOT GO HERE! I've always had a great experience with Emily at Salon 2000. I'm a pretty low maintenance person when it comes to my hair. I need a hairstyle that is easy to style and maintain. But I also want to look nice. Emily always listens when I describe what I'm looking for, and she is good about explaining what she thinks she heard from me. Sometimes I come in for an appointment with no real plan. I also appreciate that she will let me know if a certain hairstyle or color won't look right for my face structure or hair type. I've never had to wait long once I arrive. Everyone is pleasant and extremely helpful. The atmosphere is comfortable. No one pushes hair products too much. It's very easy to set up an appointment online. I have absolutely no complaints about this place. It's great! And the little hand massage with essential oils they give before getting started is a plus! read more

Every time I get my hair done here I absolutely love it, and it always grows out cute. It's a little pricy but it's definitely worth it. Stephanie is a wonderful stylist for curly, short hair, and has talked me out of many bad ideas without sounding condescending or rude. I'm a pretty introverted person, but I've always felt very comfortable here. And the Covid-19 procedures are very well thought out and executed. Lovedddd this place! Everyone, from the receptionist, to Natasha, to the lady that I paid at the end.... PERFECT. The faculty was clean and neat, and the atmosphere was great! Coming from Atlanta, I was just visiting the area since my bf lived down here for work. I figured I get a haircut before I left, and man am I glad I did! They tour you around if you're a new customer, then offer you anything from coffee to water to tea, then you get an UH-MAZING shampoo, scalp, and hand massage. Now Natasha was my stylist and really I just wish I could take her back to atlanta with me! But she is amazing. She listened to what I wanted, she went through everything she was doing, and she was just a great stylist overall. It's not like me to leave a negative review but I have had a drastic cut and color that is totally irreversible. I came in with long beautiful balyage hair and left with a bob that was not matched to my natural hair color. I requested a healthy trim with a return to my natural color, only treating the colored area, and my entire head was dyed to the second blackest level color they have... With red tint!?! This has been my second attempt at giving this place a try after a 2 year gap and I regret my decision for coming in. I cannot reverse the length of my hair nor my natural color. This is incredibly disheartening and a waste of my money. My stylist, Natasha, was aware that I was getting married next week. Everyone that saw my hair asked me if she had done this intentionally and that it looked like I had a wig on my head because the color was jet black. I'm naturally a brunette. The managers do stylist would not apologize although I begged for help. I had to reach out to another aveda salon in Ponte Vedra, Frangipani, to fix my hair before my wedding ceremony. They were booked out for weeks and once I told them my story they said they would get me in immediately. When I arrived all of the stylist came together to figure out a game plan to reverse as much as they could. They had to bleach everything and treat it back to brunette. They couldn't do much about the length so they recommended extensions for my wedding which they dyed for me as well. I'm so lucky to have found this salon! They were totally in disbelief at what Salon 2000 had done. I will never ever go back to Aveda 2000. read more

Excellent!!!! Not your average salon! Here you will be in good hands to relax and be pampered, from shoulder massage to hand massages and luxury shampoos! I went in with a bad hair problem due to using another local salon (Panache) and getting a horrible harsh color job when I asked for the ombré style. Luckily I was able to sit in Natasha's chair and receive a color correction and the ombré look I was wanting. I was treated with care and concern, they really went the extra mile to assure me that they could fix my hair and took every measure to make sure I was happy unlike the experience at the other salon. First off I would say that my rating is not based on the quality of work that my stylist did. But rather the inconsistency of pricing of the salon as a whole. Also the loud, obnoxious music. I went the first time and I was not thoroughly pleased with the job done. I showed the stylist a picture and walked away feeling let down. That cost me around $112 not including tip. I read some awesome reviews about Natasha and had met her on my first visit so decided to request her for my next visit. She is wonderful. Did a great job with my color and cut. She's very patient and attentive. She's also a mother so she understand what it's like to have to bring your children with you. No payment was discussed prior to receiving services. So needless to say I was floored when the cashier told me that my total was $212!!! I've never paid over $140 for a hair appt in my life! Either I'm just completely naive to how an aveda salon works, or they need to clarify their prices across the board. And both instances were on the "master" side. I thought that this was finally the new salon for me since I've been with Compliments by Sherry for over 8 years but was trying to find something closer since we moved to clay county. I will be making the drive back to Sherry's from now on. I trust the quality of their work and I know that I won't walk away feeling like I was robbed. If this rating was based solely on Natasha, I would give her 4 stars. read more

Ashley is awesome. I really like salon 2000. Only thing I do not like is that they double stack clients, so you end up waiting a while, and I am a little OCD so I stress when she is working with the other client (while color is processing). I have had cuts and color here, Ashley is very talented. They do not take tips on your credit/debit card so bring cash for tips. I love that they will always work you in and get you an appointments, plus lots of compliments as you leave! They always remember your name and are very welcoming. I highly recommend! read more

My first experience here was taking my GF to get a haircut and we didnt have an appointment. The front desk ladies were great. They were polite, and courteous and made it easy for us to book an "appointment" for that very day. Katie was GREAT! (since the GF was almost in tears about losing 6 inches off the back) I went back about a week later for a facial (which I must say was OUTER PEACE HEAVEN!!) ~ very luxurious and relaxing. I went again a week after that for a hair consult with Ms. Katie who was excellent again.... I find that once you go- they remember your face and make you want to go back. The pricing is a joke here. Out Whole family of 4 has been coming here and they want to charge $27 for a 5 years old to get his hair trimmed by one stylist, yet $17 for another. Ashley's my stylist and she's also a friend of mine, so the following tips are stuff that she already knows and jokes about. 1) Don't book any early Saturday appointments with her because she may still be drunk from the night before. 2) Don't ever say, "Just color it whatever color you think would look good on me" because she will dye it red. 3) If you bring her a Frappuccino from Starbucks down the street, she'll love you long time. Follow those 3 steps and you'll get a great haircut. I've been going to Salon 2000 for a few years now and Ashley cuts my hair *almost* as good as that John from Terracotta Salon in Macon, GA. If any of you knew me in college, you will remember how freakin' AWESOME my hair looked. A haircut at the salon can get a little pricey depending on how elaborate the cut is and how screwed up your hair is currently. I've got typical thick, coarse, stick-straight Asian hair that Ashley will take from shoulder-length to a short, graduated reverse bob. And then she'll take $50 from my purse. If I get it colored, it'll be close to $100. Then I'll piss her off by growing it out for 5 months and then I'll come in and make her work hard for her money. And, like the circle of life, it continues indefinitely. The salon also offers other services like massages and facials and mani-pedis (I can't believe I just used that term). I highly recommend the Aveda aromatherapy facial which was so relaxing that I almost feel asleep. That is, until the esthetician aimed this steam thing directly above my face and the resulting humidity made me feel like I was suffocating. That and the Zamfir - Master of the Pan Flute music in the background. The salon is an Aveda concept salon. I like Aveda for their whole natural, reuse, recycle, hippy-dippy business concept but I really don't like the smell of 95% of their products. But that's just me. read more

Not a good experience at all. My hair did not turn out the way I had expected it to and I still had to pay full price of $200. They told me to come back and spend another 3 hours there so they could remove the color and put the "right" color on. After telling the manager how upset I was and I really did not feel comfortable coming back and I wanted some kind of refund she told me she couldn't provide me with a refund and for me to come back to get it "fixed." Very accommodating for a last minute appointment! I was treated so well and couldn't believe my luck when it turned out that Natasha was to be my stylist. Everything you read in the other reviews is true about Natasha; she did not disappoint in any way even though there was a bit of a bad cut to work with. This is the best salon in Fleming Island! Everything about it from the moment you walk in until you walk out (looking amazing!) is perfect! The receptionist is very welcoming and takes you on a tour of the place. Drinks are offered and then the cut and color is fantastic! Everyone is super friendly, professional and great at what they do! They also offer a lower cost option with less experienced stylists too. I saw many people come out of that room and they all looked great! There was a massage room, a facial room, etc. Highly, highly recommend this place! You won't be sorry!!! I requested Natasha based on other Yelp reviews and she was fantastic for both cut and color and will DEFINITELY be seeing her again!!! Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with anyone here! My friend recommended trying an Aveda salon because she had a good experience at the beaches one. I was very impressed. The staff was extremely professional. I had Sandy who was a "junior" sytlist. She did an awesome job and I love my hair. I had highlights and a cut done, and it looks awesome. The salon is nice too, not over the top fancy, but it was nice and comfortable. The prices were the best I have ever seen too. I got charged a lower rate because I had a junior stylist, but she was great and I will definatly go again. read more

I recently made an appointment at this salon and arrived on time, changed into a drape (used for chemicals) and spoke with the stylist. After a few minutes, I was told that there was not enough time to perform the service that I was there to receive. I had explained in detail to the receptionist what I needed done when I made the appointment, so this was simply a communication error between the resources. I came back a week later for the next scheduled appointment. The stylist and I reviewed the plan of action, looked at a photograph and she commenced with the service. I was in the salon for over 3 hours. I had foiled highlighting and foiled low lighting from the ears up with solid color distributed below the foils. She put the color on my natural hair from the ears down 1st, so it was on the hair for a couple of hours - which is never good. The final outcome was that my hair was black (should have been medium neutral brown) with white highlights that appear to be Gray. There is also large Orange stripes on the top where the lightening agent did not bring the hair up appropriately. I had to leave the salon at 11:15 (my appt began at 8) to attend another appointment. I came back after my 2nd appointment and the staff offered for me to have the stylist "fix it". I decided against any further damage. My hair is burned and a variety of ugly colors at this point. I did, in fact, purchase a non-peroxide toner and colored over the horrendous mistake. My hair was waste length and very healthy before. It is now breaking off by the inches. I am most unhappy with this incident, and I would not recommend the salon for hair coloring/bleaching. read more
