How wet the towel got after a 10 minute shower.
Kimber G.

My mom has an early flight out of BCN Sunday and I snagged a room in this hotel for Saturday night. Their free airport shuttle is what caught my attention. Upon entering the hotel and the room, everything looked clean and well-kept. But our stay soon turned into a disaster. The tubs in the bathrooms are incredibly high. My mother fell getting out after a shower and hit her head on the toilet. There is nothing to grab hold of (no bar) on the outside of the tub. The wall and the counter are both too far away to provide support. A small step would be helpful for those who need it. The floor is tile that is slippery when wet, even with a towel down. This is incredibly unsafe and a hazard for people who might need a little extra help. Check the photos to see just how wet the floor gets. I took a 10 minute shower and in that time span the "mat" on the floor was 2/3 of the way soaked through. I told reception what had happened, just to let them know this setup was dangerous for people who have difficulty getting in and out of tall tubs, who may have mobility issues, or who just are stiff legged. The receptionist was nice and expressed some sympathy (I'm assuming she understood the severity of what happened plus I was crying and talking so being clear was somewhat hard). Anyways. She offered me coffee or tea to relax me and told me everything would be fine. Other relevant hotel info: The air conditioning also doesn't work year round. The hotel has central heat and AC and it's only switched on seasonally. Early May is too early for air I suppose. The shuttle is prompt when going to the airport. Tell reception what time you need to leave and they'll schedule the shuttle for you. If coming from the airport, the shuttle is a bit more difficult. From T1, go to Parking G and behind the white building where you walk down the stairs to get to the ground floor there are 9 parking spots for hotel minibuses. Wait there. You'll need to call reception and tell them you're there for them to send a bus because I don't think they come with any regularity. The mini fridge in the room didn't work and it couldn't be fixed or replaced. I was able to stow my leftovers at the bar downstairs in their fridge.

Ciutat del Prat, a Sallés Hotel was chosen as our hotel when we were denied check-in for our flight home to Los Angeles, CA. We looked for a hotel that had a shuttle, close to the airport and was reasonably priced. We were amazed at the accommodations and amenities. The staff was very friendly and gave great customer service. They helped us plan out an afternoon/evening of must see sites in Barcelona and directed us to the local metro/train station along with providing maps. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Chose this hotel for (a) proximity to the airport (b) free airport shuttle service and (c) reasonable pricing and it turned out to be an excellent choice! Had arrived in Barcelona after a cruise and was flying out at 7:00am the next day. Took the 5:15am shuttle (which left promptly on time) and arrived at the airport at 5:24am. It is THAT close! Oh-- and for a 5 euro deposit, you can borrow converters for your electronic devices :)

Disregard the note on their site that check-in is not 24h - I contacted them to confirm there's always someone at the front desk. Unfortunately they didn't respond to my question about how to find them within the airport. Assuming you're staying in between flights, you'll have to exit and then re-enter security. To find the hotel, go down to the main floor where families meet arrivals and then back through the cafe area to the back wall. To your right (after the Caixa bank) there should be a set of doors and walk way leading to a new building with the Business Center, which is where the hotel is. Our room reeked of unidentifiable food from check-in through the morning, so much so that I was worried it would permeate my hair and clothes. We were also greeted by several flies in our room. There is no duvet, only a sheet. To suffice, we pulled out a nasty blanket from the closet and laid it on the lower half of the bed. The shower door doesn't close and its lining isn't sealed tight so water leaks out, covering the entire bathroom area. The hair dryer overheats and shuts off after ~30 seconds, which means it took 20 minutes (mostly waiting time) to dry my hair. The room is actually not too tiny, even for 2 people. So if you've got a quick turn between flights, it may be worth sucking it up (and forking over the $$$). But if I had to do it again, I'd rearrange our itinerary and stay offsite.

What a crap show. The toilet without a door is basically in the middle of the room. The room…read moreflooded when we took a shower. The air didn't work and the front desk was no help. It's stupid expensive for what is basically a bad hostel. The bed made a horrible noise upon every move. Just don't.

It's only a 7 min drive from Barcelona El Prat Airport, 10-15 min uber to the city and if you chose to travel by bus or metro then there are stops only 5 mins away from this hotel, which was very convenient for us! Our king bed room was big, with all amenities in the room and bathroom, and a beautiful view as well! I just wish their staffs at the reception was a bit more knowledgeable about the transportation system to/from the city since we were tourists and so were the majority of their guests, but no points taken off for that.

If you have a Barcelona card, it's no problem because you can use your card as many times as you want. But i would recommend you getting a hotel in the city center. The hotel was really clean though and my room was nice. I had a room on the top floor which is the sixth floor... However, I was expecting the view to be fantastic but all I got was the highway and the buildings around the hotel. Other then that... the service was good. Breakfast buffet was OKAY. Don't think it's worth 8 euros though. I like how you can do a late check out at 6 pm if you pay 10 euros. Not to shabby...

Room was clean, big with a beautiful bathroom. The nerd in me was impressed by the computer panel which controls the elevator system. There are 4 elevators for use. On each floor outside the elevators is a touch screen computer panel in which you select where you need to go - floor number or restaurant name. The computer figures out the elevator which can take you to your destination fastest and displays the number on the screen. After the display is shown the elevator arrives within seconds. The floor number is pre-selected when you step in. You cannot select the floor from inside the elevator. This was a very efficient system and I wish all hotels adopt it. They also serve delicious breakfast and the spread is huge. Every single thing that I tried on the breakfast was of excellent quality. The servers even come to your table and ask you if they can bring you coffee or juice. The empty plates are immediately removed and the tables cleaned. L1 metro line starts from the 'Hospital de Bellvitge' stop which is opposite to Hotel Hesperia. That gives you the advantage of pick your seat on the metro journey. If you are taking the metro to/from the airport, you'll have to change from L1 to L9 at Torrassa station. Airport is about 10 minutes away by taxi, so you might not want to go the metro route. By metro, hotel is about 30 minutes to beach or La Rambla street and 1 hour to Parc Guell. So it's definitely not in the center where you can walk to the happening places.

The room was spacious, with the biggest bathroom/closet area I've ever seen. The elevator control pad asks your destination and lets you know which car to use. This hotel is located a quick walk (less than 5 minutes) to the Hotel Bellvitge metro stop.
