James was very nice and professional. Although we were unable to make a deal at this time he didn't pressure me. Thanks James

Do not under ANY circumstances go here. This man knowingly sold me an unsafe vehicle…read more I happened upon a car from Rigg's lot. He was super attentive and kind...at first. He texted me and claimed with certainty that this car was mechanically sound, had a thorough inspection AND recently serviced by a reputable mechanic, and required NO/ZERO/ZILCH work on the engine. When I went to the lot, I really should've trusted my gut. Especially after communicating for a little over a week about the vehicle, and planning on a set date and time to drive the vehicle....Rigg's just so happened to have another "interested party". I say that with significant disbelief since his lot is a ghost town (yes, I have eyes and have driven past on various days and times. Lesson learned) I had previously mentioned my intent to take the vehicle to my own mechanic prior to purchase, but I felt terribly pressured to decide -- buy now or I'm selling to this "random" other person. The minute I drove it off the lot, by some divine luck (for him) the check engine light went off. My sister being the kind person she is, and wanting safety for my son and I took into upon her self to help. Solid mechanics are hard to get in with (the one I trust is 2 weeks out before he has anything), routine servicing was checked just to be certain it had been done (like stated on more than one occasion via text and witnesses). NO Oil change. NO radiator/coolant flush. NO record of last water pump/belt change. On top of the diagnostic codes being removed, it was determined dude pressure washed the damn engine. There was standing water where the spark plug goes. Had to change all of that too. You'd think or at least for the sake of my awful luck and story that that that would be the end. Now I'd have this amazing car, and all my worries would have melted away. In the back of my mind, before a skilled and trustworthy mechanic was able to check, I always thought it was strange that it had little to no horsepower. I mean, ok, it's a 4 cylinder and yes using the a/c can slow or down, but not to what felt like a crawl. I was hopeful it was an incorrect code, but drumroll for those not as mechanically inclined....it's in freaking limp mode -- meaning, IT DOES NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE THUS MAKING IT AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. Now I'm sure most of you have asked yourselves....Amber, what in the great googily moogily are you going to do? Have you not communicated this with the dealer before speaking your truth (verified by witnesses, P&M Auto, Jiffy Lube, AMCO, and anyone who was willing to listen and look). I tried. At first, he told me it was my fault. Mind you, at that point I had driven it maybe twice? He brought RACE as a motivating factor as to why I didn't trust him. (Wtf?!) He avoided me. Supposedly wasn't at his lot during listed business hours, and when he would respond via text messages that I saved -- he made very flippant remarks. **I forgot, he also sold the vehicle without a driver's side mirror, with the promise to have the part there in 4-6 business days from purchase of this death trap that I so kindly refer to as the "kursed Kia". Weeks later, the mirror finally made it way to his business. (I even gave him the benefit of the doubt -- covid turnaround times, etc). The one slightly "kind" gesture he made was offering to deliver the mirror to my sister's house...which he conveniently forgot was to take place on a specific date and time. When he finally showed up -- during the heatwave -- he refused to get out of his presumably a/c van, tried to hand me a box, and leave. I asked, "are you not planning to stick around, in order to make sure the mirror fits?" (He had previously bought the wrong one) At that point, my sister's attractive neighbor came out, and spoke to Riggs. Each time I spoke, he threatened to leave. Then she would talk to him, and he'd calm down. Ultimately, he drove off after yelling at me, and over me anytime I tried opening my mouth. Told me that I was "mean" for holding him accountable. (Sorry, I have this knack for thinking people will opt for honesty and integrity over the almighty dollar...especially when there's a small child's safety involved). If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I figure Riggs has two options: 1. Full refund, including out of pocket expenses that wouldn't have been necessary if the car has actually been inspected and serviced. 2. Total cost of repairs that he INTENTIONALLY hid when he purchased this vehicle. The ball is now in his court, but I have encountered enough verbally abusive men in my lifetime to sit back and take this as a loss, and remain silent. I will continue to speak out on all available platforms until a resolution is found. Realistically, I'd give this lot zero stars if I could.

We went into Riggs as the 4th place today looking for a great car for a good price. We understand…read morethe market is high right now for pre-owned vehicles, but we have been looking for months and found a car online from here and decided we wanted to test drive it. From the moment we walked in, Rigg was beyond welcoming, kind, patient, and fair. He was very trusting and let us take our time without rushing us- we know about cars more than most so we had a million questions and long checklist. We test drove 3 cars in our price range and he walked us through each one and the history. We finally decided on a car that had been on his lot for 18 hours!! A great deal, full service history from Carfax, 1-owner, clean, and am amazing price. He was very honest with what he thought may need maintenance if there was any and he walked us through the entire process. My partner (car was for him) works at a big name dealership (he's in school and we wanted a commuter without financing) went through all the paper work and extended warranty and was beyond impressed how Riggs was in it for his customers before anything. He shared a little about himself and family and aside from a great local business owner he was incredibly kind and friendly. It felt like buying from family- he asked that we swing by this week so he could detail the car for us! Truly a wonderful and incredible business owner. We are beyond proud to shop local!!

Drove 6 hours from Washington to buy a car from them last month. Great communication and fair…read moreprice upfront. They were able to finance me even being out of state and the vehicle being older. Worst part of the experience was the salesman, I had been communicating with, did not show up the day we had planned to meet AND had misquoted my APR. BUT they made it right by lowering the price to make up for the difference. When the salesman was a no show, Allen (a different salesperson) was quick, courteous, professional and zero pressure to buy extras. Thanks for the great experience!

my used my last of my saving yesterday to purchase a car big enough for me and all my kids. I have…read more4 kids and 1 on the way so safety is very important to me. the salesman was told this all and that I didn't want to buy something that was going to break down when I got home. because I'm using all my money. he assured me the van was great no accidents no reports been maintained by the state. I test drove it and it drove great. I ended up purchasing it straight out cash because I didn't want payments but I don't have enough to get any type of warranut they only offered me one for 3 months that was 250 and I didn't hav anymore money after buying the van. he knew I had to drive back 40 min home with kids so for that fact knowing what was wrong with the car is so beyond shady to me. Like are you a dad? How would u feel if that was your kids and mother of your kids you should be ahead of yourself . I get home It drive great the whole way I put it in park after turning into my parking spot and a light comes on that says EPS BAS and I was like hmm that's strange I'm a girl so I didn't even know what that meant. I turn the car off and turn it back on to see if it and t away and the car would no go it of gear. Now it's stuck in park with that light on my dash and I litterally drive it for 30 min before not being able to use it after paying 5200 cash for this van. I have never felt so ashamed and scammed in my life. I'm a single mother and bow I have no way to work I have no money for a car and I have a car I can't fix that I just bought. I'm so sad and I hope people are bangle to see the lot for who they are so they don't get scammed. I would hate for another person to feel how I'm feeling right now. I hope karma finds its way to them because I'm just out of luck and there's nothing I can do about it.

We were looking for a used EV, and found the exact car we wanted at Pj's. I called and spoke to…read moreErik on Sunday, May 22nd. We had a great conversation and shared information about the used EV market, including me informing him about the $5,000.00 Charge Ahead rebate being offered from the State of Oregon. I slept on the decision and called Erik back on Monday, May 23rd. We agreed on an out the door price over the phone. I was informed - during that call - that there was one disclosure, which was that the air conditioning was not blowing cold. Erik told me that he would get the car serviced and that the cost of the service might change the cost of the vehicle. I agreed to this arrangement and offered to put a down payment on the vehicle - he didn't want me to do this because he was unsure of the final price. I spoke to PJ's several times between May 25th and May 30th - looking for information about when the car would be ready and working out logistics for the purchase. I did receive accurate information along the way and I was doing my best to be patient, in order to have the eventual opportunity of purchasing this vehicle. On May 30, I spoke with Erik again - the car was ready to go, and we re negotiated the out the door price for an additional $300.00 - which was reasonable. There wasn't time to get the car prior to closing on May 30. I called on the morning of June 1 @ 10:29 and talked to Dave. He raised the out the door price by an additional $500.00 and told me that the dealership had done everything for me. He stated that the price quoted yesterday was irrelevant and that told me that I could come down that day to pick up the car at the new price or that they would sell it to next customer. I stated that I wanted the car. He told me that he was getting upset and that he didn't want to talk to me any longer. He talked over me, was verbally aggressive toward me, and was not willing to hear my point of view about the details of the negotiation to date. I made arrangements to take 1/2 day off work to get down to Salem and purchase this vehicle for the stated price. I called the dealership at 11:30 to let them know we were on the way - and the time of arrival. There was no answer - and no answering machine. I received a call from Dave at 11:59 letting me know that he had sold the car. I am disappointed that PJs did not honor their end of this deal (price / holding this car for me). This was a solid car - at a reasonable price - even with the increases that had been added at the last minute and I was willing to pay the final price. I am angry to have been treated in a rude and disrespectful manner.

With the fires and ash, I can't judge them for cars being a little dirty on the outside, but the inside could have used some TLC- previous owner was a smoker, still smelled, needed some parts just cleaned inside- so yeah I bought the car knowing I wanted to get home and use some windex and fabreeze, but I feel the price he sold the car at reflected that. And really, sometimes on the smaller lots, that's what you're trading- they aren't staffed to be detailing each car to make them look like new, but the price on our Chevy HHR was definitely the best I was going to get in town, so I can't complain at all! He wasn't pushy about the warranty at all, he was helpful with our financing. So yeah- if I needed another car, I'd likely check back with these guys, and felt they treated me well!
