The craftsmanship was…read moresubpar, the supports were not fastened to the brackets properly, causing the the fence to be very wobbly, and though they charged a lot for a gate to be installed, I had to have them come back once to fix it because they initially had it dragging on the concrete, and now that the weather is raining, the gate swelled shut and is inoperable because the wood has swelled and only a small 1/16" of an inch gap was given at the top of the gate (which is clearly not square as there is a much larger gap at the bottom). I hesitate to call them back to repair it because I fear that their "fix" won't be much better.

But, three return visits were required to properly adjust the door and eliminate noise during operation. More concerning, the crew left an unsealed gap on the exterior door frame -- an opening that allows rainwater to penetrate and risks causing damage such as dry rot. When I raised this issue and suggested caulking as a straightforward fix, the technician's response was simply, "we don't caulk." The manager's response was just as adamant. As a result, I was left with an incomplete job and had to hire a separate contractor to seal the gap at my own expense at a cost of $300. Salem Garage Door's crew was otherwise professional and persistent in addressing the noise issue, and the door itself functions well -- but a finishing detail this important to weatherproofing should not fall outside the scope of their work, particularly since the crew created the gap. Had the job been completed properly, this would have been a five-star review.

The state of our lawn's sprinkler system was pretty sad. We had patches in the yard that weren't…read morewatered, some that were over-watered, and many heads that were broken or not functioning properly. That's when I decided to call Dustin at Abiqua. And was I ever glad I did. The lawn has never looked better after Dustin and his team got done. They fixed mis-aligned sprinkler heads, replaced broken ones, moved some, and even found ones that had been buried by gophers and moles. To cap off their great service, they actually corrected the mistake the original contractors made, which had been to install heads that had a flow rating which was much too high for our water pressure. Abiqua changed all the sprinklers in the front yard to heads that were the correct flow rate, thereby covering the whole yard, which is why it finally looks great! I can't recommend Abiqua enough. Do yourself a favor and call them for your irrigation needs.
