I frequent this Salata often and each time I go in, there is usually one or two people working that I see. Most times when I go in, there is not anyone on the line. This evening when I went in there was a guest with his 2 sons. I asked him if he mind me asking what he was waiting on, and he responded with shrimp. "I have been waiting a loooong time, even when we came in I had to wait and there wasn't anyone in here". As I stood in line waiting to be served, the young man came out and continued to service the man and his boys. As he was cashing them out, a young lady came out to service me. By this time 2 couples came in behind me. The service is always slow due to there only being one or two people on duty. If there is anyway service can be better, it would be nice. I've been to several Salatas and I appreciate how consistent they are. The ingredients are fresh and the dressings are tasty. I've been to this location twice now and it's no exception. My go to is a regular salad $9 with salmon +$4. I load it up with a kale, spinach and arugula mix, plenty of vegetables and toppings, and a fresh herb vinaigrette. They offer over 50 toppings, 10 house-made dressings, and 10 total meat and meatless proteins. They also have tea tap The space is clean, bright and open. Plenty of seating indoor and out. I've ordered online and pick-up was seamless. They have a designated area for online and delivery orders. Bags are clearly labeled with names. Wow. I'm not a salad guy at all, but I want to try eating a little healthier so I gave Salata a shot. I figured I might as well get a salad from the professionals before I make something myself. They did not disappoint. I absolutely love what they've got going on here. First, you can get a wrap or a salad, and I obviously opted for a wrap since I can't imagine only eating a salad as my meal. The tortilla choices they have are legit, I opted for a Thai Ginger Tortilla - it was awesome. Second, the amount of ingredients they have available for your salad/wrap is impressive - there's got to be a few dozen different things you can add to your salad including a variety of lettuces, veggies, cheeses, fruits, meats, dressings, etc. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, I have to say they completely surpassed my expectations. Person named Bogdan kept helping others AFTER we paid, gave a tip, and he was supposed to make a bowl for our daughter. Instead kept helping new people walking in. But he charged us for an extra regular salad on our bill. We asked for a refund and he doesn't know how to refund anyone. We asked him to please go make her food and he did. Brought it out. It was missing items. Went back to him. Asked for the missing items. He said he would get them. Then went back and helped even more new customers. Unacceptable! And we had tipped well too. I love to eat salads, but I eat here when I'm forced to pay penance for being bad. The salads are truly tasteless and bland. Of the few times I've endured eating here at my wife's urging, I felt like an hour passed as I chewed my way through a bale of hay. Usually my family and I go to the Salata at Halcyon on the weekend. We have eaten there numerous times and never had a problem until we were served by Andy Ming (if that's even his real name). We were going to order three large bowls and one small bowl. My aunt and cousin began ordering their salad and Andy began to give them a hard time about the amount of lettuce they wanted. He started telling us that we can't order as much food as we were getting and that we should be paying for two orders instead of one. We've been to three different locations and never had someone tell us that we needed to pay more for the amount of lettuce that we usually get. Numerous employees and three different locations and we've never had a problem until today. As time went on Andy began to raise his voice and started saying, "You're trying to get the food for free" when he hadn't even rung the food up yet. Andy also called us liars and said, "You people should eat somewhere else." Another customer overheard the dialogue and got involved. She confronted him for being racist and exceptionally rude. Andy then told us he was refusing to carry out our order and that he was putting our salads in the trash. After that, we decided we would leave and just file a complaint. He also said, "You can leave too" to the woman that got involved. Also, before Andy started serving us, he started talking about this place (Salata) sucks and it's like working at a Dollar General. He said that he hated the job and he was the only employee at the restaurant at the time. It's very sad that instead of selling five people salad and making a profit, he wanted to argue us down and refuse to provide service. This Salata is usually great. The other employees are friendly but Andy Ming is the last person that needs to be working at a restaurant. Oh, one more thing. You can choose to add a protein from at least 7 different options plus breads and soups. A "Tea bar" with 6-7 different teas and lemonades to enjoy with your amazing salad. Went here today. Salad was fine. Nothing special but also not bad. The issue was how filthy this place is. Every table including the outdoor ones were dirty. The women's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. There was pee or poo on the seat rim and also at the base of the toilet. The floor was filthy. I understand accidents happen, but this wasn't a customer having a recent accident. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Grime and dirt were old and caked on. I can always tell a very poor owner or poor manager of an establishment by how clean or dirty the place is. I would never go back here because if the bathroom and dining area are that filthy it scares me how the food area is kept too. I also noticed the girls who worked there were just sitting around when they could have been cleaning. Note to the owner/manager-do your job by making sure your staff is doing theirs.
