Rude customer service and foul smelling air. Walked in 21 minutes before close, to a woman coming out of the kitchen with an attitude, saying "it happens every time, never fails!". I asked if it was ok to order and she nastily said, "we have no rolls". I simply said nevermind and walked out. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise because from the time we walked in, we were hit with the foul smell of rancid mop water because they probably don't change the mop heads as much as they should. There was a piece of chicken in my salad, and I'm a vegetarian. That was annoying. Also, some days they don't have a veg soup option, and any other SW I've been to has at least ONE among the five minimum they're dispensing daily. The workers seemed like they were trying to get your order done and paid for instead of putting care into their actions. They drink selection is really great. What a great discovery in our new neighborhood! We stopped in at 1pm for lunch on a Thursday. There was plenty of free parking and no line to order. The menu is big and varied, with plenty of options for vegetarian and vegan meals. I got the Cobb salad without blue cheese, and was able to substitute another item in its place. Husband got the Farmhouse salad. Salads were made to order with more than ten dressing choices. Choice of warm white or wheat roll with butter. The soups looked good too. We will be back! read more

As for Saladworks goes, this place is a horrible example. It's dark inside. No samples shown. The whole case is empty. No fountain soda, instead they have over priced bottle sodas and teas that are barely cooler than room temperature. The ingredients seem to be subpar compared to other locations. Today, my roll was hard as a rock!! I usually go here because it's close to home, but I think I will start going out of my way to go to the deptford location instead. Like other reviewers, I will note that this Saladworks is clean and is a well-equipped location. That being said, if you walk in around 7:30pm (they close at 8pm) you are in for a treat. I know slinging lettuce and cheese into a bowl is a stressful career choice, and wiping a counter is backbreaking labor, so I totally understand the eye-rolling and underbreath mumbling that each customer receives as they walk in. I also understand that you want to escape as soon as the clock strikes 8, but sadly that's not how things work in the restaurant world. Cheer up, ladies. I absolutely love Saladworks in general but this is the worst I've been too. Uninterested and unpleasant employees. One was cleaning the bathroom then came behind the counter, put the broom back then put on gloves without washing her hands. One also touched her hair with gloves on while making a salad. My mom's rice was uncooked in the Asian bowl and the bbq chicken in my salad was horrible. They also were SUPER wasteful and gave everyone eating in the dining room Togo containers, probably to avoid doing more cleaning than they wanted to. My favorite Salad Works location in the area. Salads are always fresh and well made. It does tend to get busy in here but the line moves fairly quickly. I work close to this location. It is the nicest SW I have ever seen. The drink and salad display is very appealing. Once I walked in there were 2 employees standing in the way and I practically had to push my way through them even after saying excuse me. We have frequented this Salad works for our business lunches quite frequently. Over the past few months it seems the attention to detail has gone down hill. I received a salad a few months ago and the lettuce was literally wilted and brown and sparse. We called and they made note of it and we asked to have a comped salad in the future. Well today I ordered my normal salad, to replace the previous one, and thought, wow this is really so much better....until I found a FLY covered in green goddess dressing dead....UGH! We called them to let them know and the OWNER obviously thought we were lying since "this has never happened before"- doubt that! Beware if you decide to go there a 1/2 hour before they close. The kids that work there close early. Went their this evening at 8:30 to pick up soup and salads for the family. The door was locked and kids were inside cleaning up. I tried to speak with them but was ignored. I then called and asked why their were closed before the posted 9:00 PM time for Saturday night. I was told there was an emergency and they needed to close early. The chicken tasted so fake I could not even take more than one bite. I am not sure what they did to this location but I can for sure say I will never be returning. I would like to say that I literally signed up for yelp today to write a review for this specific saladworks. I have had negative experiences nearly every time I go in to this store. I have retired rating at this brand any where because of this location! The manager there is rude, unapproachable and inappropriate every time I go in to this store. I was eating there so frequently that I would go through a punch card in two weeks (totaling 10 salads) I actually made a complaint to corporate because not only the manager of this location, but the corporate as well would not give me the contact information for the franchisee owner to contact them directly with my concerns. The employees there have made mention that the manager is a sibling of the franchisee owner which would explain how someone could have such little tact dealing with customers and maintain a job. read more
