Salad and Go is always such a quick and tasty go-to! They always greet you with a smile at pick up, and their kitchen area always looks tidy! Their app is super easy to use, and I love being able to customize everything exactly how I like it. Being able to share orders with friends/work besties is a total win, too! I also really appreciate that you can note a gluten allergy--they truly make an effort to accommodate with things like fresh gloves, which means a lot. Being gluten intolerant myself, I'm not sure what my celiac friend's take is on that, but I've never had cross contamination/a gluten reaction, even though they're not a designated GF facility. And somehow they're not only making their food to be delicious, but totally affordable, as well! I've already shared my love for goat cheese, so when they added it to the menu, I became an even bigger fan! I usually "build my own" salad , although my work besties can't stop talking about the new Arcadia salad with apples, crispy onions, dried cranberries, and candied pecans. It sounds amazing! But I was in more of a savory mood, so adding goat cheese totally hit the spot--especially paired with their Green Enchilada Chili. Asked employees where the outdoor tables and chairs went. They blamed the shut down gas station for stealing them then said they were tired of locking them up at night so they removed them. Food and drink - The salad was crunchy and tasted fresh. I like the little white mozzarella balls, shredded carrots, shredded purple cabbage. The roasted chicken pieces tasted good. A little moist, which was good. I thought the tomatoes tasted a bit overripe. I have been experiencing this lately at Salad and Go. Not sure if they changed their supplier out of people just aren't buying them as frequently. The sliced boiled egg was fine. They put the salad dressing packet on top. The strawberry drink tasted good and was refreshing. Service - Ordering went well and the employees were quick. Background - Felt like getting a cold salad since it's hot out. Just went to salads and go on power Road in Mesa to be exact. The address was 251 South Power Rd. I rushed home to write this review which I normally don't do. The man at the drive-through was extremely rude and when I mean extremely that's an understatement I asked for a packet of balsamic vinaigrette, instead of blue cheese for my Cobb salad, and he was extremely annoyed by it. I go to salads and go on Southern in Mesa all of the time and they're exceptionally friendly my first time at the this one on power Road, and if the manager wants to stay in business at this location, he needs to make sure his employees are not rude and friendly. I've eaten at salad and go for years. The portions have been consistent for years. Recently prices increased. The last two orders I picked up were more expensive with significantly smaller portions. Before going back I called to find out if this was a mistake or if the portions decreased. The person I spoke with confirmed the portions have decreased at the same time prices increased. The ordering is extremely easy, there are options available for nearly every appetite. I chose a Cobb Salad with creamy blue cheese dressing. The servings are enormous and there is plenty of dressing to go around. I am not much of a fan of mixed greens, but the way they put it together, all the flavors melded together very nicely. I thought there was going to be too much food for one person, but I was very pleasantly surprised that I was able to eat every bite. Nasty. They have messed up my order the 3 times I have gone! This last time I've just had it. I ordered a salad and asked to leave out the brussels sprouts, and add croutons. I love salad and go! Great salad at a great price. First time at this location. The line was a little long. I wait about 5 minutes, I finally asked if anyone was there. I ordered the Antipasto no salami,no onion, and extra feta. This was repeated to me and I was given my total. Got to the window pretty fast, ordered again repeated, and now the price changed. I didn't say anything, my fault. At the window, I was able to hear another employee(the drink person) scolding the to go person. So awkward for the customer! Love love love the $1 drinks !! Cold brew with breakfast and black tea later. A request to management, maybe consider a frozen decaf coffee drink (I've tried the frozen lemonade which isn't bad. Love the frozen part of it, just didn't want to waste 300-400 calories on sugar, but if it's frozen decaf, with a little creamer and sugar in the frozen mix, the calorie count is likely lower (and great for light-weights like me who can't take on coffee caffeine in the afternoons.) This ocation in particular is busy because it is by the hospital and quite a few businesses. The line moved fairly quickly and the cashier was friendly. They ask if you need a bag or fork to make sure they have less waste. I appreciate that. They just need to remember if you say yes to actually give it to you. I love this restaurant chain! It is a great healthy option for people that need a quick bite. As I described it to my sister, "you get salad, and you go". What a concept! This location is very new and I have visited it twice. Both times I have left satisfied by the service, food quality, and prices. They have many options for all tastes, seasonal menus, and even offer to wrap your salad in a tortilla for an on-the-go lunch. Although I love the food here, the thing that makes me the most happy is their environmental initiatives. They do not give out plastic bags for single items (like a lot of other chains do), and give forks and napkins upon request to reduce plastic waste. Honestly it's my mom that loves this place and I just go along hahaha but they do have a very cool business plan where they reduced prices, they also started growing romaine here in arizona for their salads so they're also supporting local that way. I personally can't pass up the drinks for a $1. The lemonade is my favorite and I'm very picky about lemonade, I'd easily pay double for this lemonade anytime and would not prevent me from getting it just as often. I like the antipasto salad when I do go, it's a very large portion so I often split with my mom or have leftovers and for $6ish you can't really make it yourself. I've eaten at Salad and Go for a number of years, when they first started. Sometimes I hit this one in the mornings on my way into work for the cold brew, which is awesome, and some breakfast. Today was one of those mornings I stopped. I get up to the window and I can't find my wallet. I apologized and said that I can't find my wallet, you'll have to cancel my order. Gosh, it was so embarrassing. However, they were so kind and gave me my food and told me to come back later to pay. I am amazed because it's not easy to trust that someone isn't playing you but they took the chance. I wasn't even in my nice car. I had my beat up old truck! Thankfully I was able to find my wallet after pulling over and getting out to look more thoroughly and walked to the window to pay. It's these types of acts that make you feel like part of a community. I can't say enough good things about this location. I have been going to work every day at the City of Mesa working in an isolated office, not having much contact with anyone there or at home. Then I watch the news and get depressed over all the horrific acts taking place in our country and how people have no qualms about destroying people's livelihoods. I went at 11:30 and I only have a 30 minute lunch break. The car line is wrapped around the building and I waited in line for 2 minutes before I realized the line wasn't moving and there was NO ONE at the walk up. I pull out of the line and walk up to the window. I waited at the window for 5 minutes with workers watching me until a guy opened the window and told me they are a drive thru service and I should get in the line. It would be a longer wait time if I ordered at the walk up. WHY is there a walk up window if it's for pick ups only??! You should post signs or something OR told me before I waited for 5 minutes while you watched me stand there. The guy in the standing line told me they treat all of the walk ups second hand to the cars in line. By the time I got back to my car the line was EVEN LONGER. So I left. Very annoying read more
