There was a memorial bike ride today for someone from Lehighton and Sal's was a favorite of his. We rode here and I decided to get a plain cheese slice. It was so good, I decided to try a piece of Sicilian which tasted waayyy better than it looks here. Back in Lehighton, the shop ordered 20 pies for the remembrance gathering. If I could give zero stars I would. Waited over an hour after being told it would be a 45 minute wait and when the pizza arrived it was an absolutely disgusting mess. The pizza box was squished and the entire top of the pizza was transferred to the inside cover. Disgusting presentation with the disgusting taste to match. I have given Sal"s too many chances but this was my final lesson. The fact that Sal's remains in business only speaks to the lack of dining options within Slatington. Sal's is known throughout the Lehigh Valley for one thing and one thing only - awesome sicilian pizza. After living here my entire life, I am sad to say it took me this long to have their delicious pizza. We ordered a 16" Sicilian with mushrooms for lunch with a friend. Sicilian pizza for those who don't know, is a bready doughier versiion of pizza. This box was like a lead weight when we picked it up. It was hot, fresh and totally yummy. The sausage pizza and pasta fagioli soup was fantastic!!!! Had this after my sons birthday party (swimming with 22 kids wears you out) and the people inside brought the food out to my car! I didn't even have to Go in. I pulled in, an employee was just getting out of his car, asked what I ordered and brought it out two minutes later. No complaints, love this place. If you are in the area or a local I strongly recommend this eatery. Neighborhood pizza shop with FANTASTIC fare. Great NY style pizza, the toppings are fresh and plentiful. The fries are fried well not greasy and flavorful. I am not a fry fan at all, but I finished the basket. They were great, no salt or ketchup needed. Most of the customers seemed to be ordering the steak sandwiches so they too, must be amazing. I had the veggie white pizza. It was delicious. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating was because they had plumbing issue and the drop ceiling was exposed. They placed some buckets next to me catching the water leaking from overhead pipes. Otherwise, the place was clean and the service was friendly and fast. The prices were very reasonable. I tried to talk the owner into opening a location closer to me. I will be returning to this restaurant soon. It is worth the drive. read more

These guys are great. The food is good too. We neglected to let them know about the complicated access to the delivery address and the poor delivery guy got lost. We finally hooked up with him and got our pizza. The guy was nice enough to pay for the pizza since it took so long even though it was our fault for not giving him proper directions to get to our place. I had to tip him for his trouble and tried to pay for the pizza but he refused. Nice guy and probably took grief from his boss. They should hire more guys like that. I didn't get his name but if the rest of Sal's employees are half as cool as he was, they got it made. read more
