Bolognese with penne pasta was pretty good; hot comfort food on a chilly fall day. Salad was pretty good, chose not to get bread & butter, which all came with meal. What a joke! Not worth 1 star. I ordered a large Chicken Parm pizza described as "marinara sauce, garlic, fried juicy chicken, mozzarella, romano, provolone cheese, and fresh basil". Told it would take 50 minutes. Sure it's Friday night, okay your busy. Never confirmed price, one menu says $21.80, another inside said $23 something, the menu published on Yelp says $25. I return in 50 minutes, pizza done. Charged $28.80 CASH (confirmed that didn't include the extra 3.5% fee published on a postcard by the register). What I got was a chicken finger pizza made at least 30 minutes before I picked it up. I even called to ask where the basil was, was told the menus are outdated. Sure I've heard that before regarding price, but regarding toppings? They should be embarrassed! read more

Stopped in for a lunch with family while in town. My oldest ordered the wings naked and they came out hot, crispy, and fresh. She really enjoyed them. My youngest did the chicken tenders and tater tots. She enjoyed the tenders and the honey mustard dipping sauce. I opted for the philly cheese steak with onions and mushrooms. The steak, onions, and mushrooms were cooked perfectly, but I wish it had more cheese on the sandwich. That would have made it more enjoyable for me. When we were in there was only one person working and he was hustling, but getting all of the orders out and was still friendly and able to answer any questions we had. Would come back in when in the area since I am not local. It was a great place to sit and have some conversation and have a casual meal. read more

Been going here over 6 years. Used to be much better. Last two times ordering take out was EXTREMELY late. Told when ordered on a Friday it would be 1.5 hours for a pizza and some sides. Ended up taking TWO hours. At the 1.5 hour mark our pizza was still in the oven! We live only 5 minutes from them. We like the food, the service not so much. This was our go to spot after a quick lunch break from visiting Dorney Park. I checked yelp for some good pizza spots and chose Sal's. Sal's pizza didn't disappoint. I purchased a pizza pie for the three of us and it was more affordable than just feeding 1 of us in Dorney Park. We ordered half cheese and half pepperoni. The restaurant was fairly empty and very clean. The young lady who served us was so sweet and very friendly. We sat at the booth in the nice air condition and enjoyed our hot out the oven pizza. My nieces eat ranch on their pizza and the worker obliged without hesitation or an attitude. We all agreed this one of the best pizzas we had in a long time. We had some leftover slices and took them back to our hotel room. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience here and would visit again if we're in the area. read more

My favorite place, which is nearby, was closed. So I decided it was time to try Sal's. The pizza on the counter looked oily and unappetizing, so I got a hoagie. I ordered a ham and Swiss, but got an almost stale roll, a couple of slices of over processed ham, and yellow cheddar. I forgot to ask for mustard, but no options were offered. TOP 3 WORST PIZZA IN THE VALLEY! I saw all the reviews and assumed "Hey, this place must be good" and boy was I wrong. I asked the manager if their was any pizza pie specials cause every other place I'd go to has, and he sarcastically replies "No we don't have 2 for 1" and I'm like HUH? I replied "I'm asking if you have any specials" and he then says "That's what I was trying to tell you a second ago, we don't have any specials it's all al a cart" I'm looking at my wife, she's looking at me like "WHAT??" Horrible and awkward exchange. We finally received our pizza pies (we ordered 3 "large" One white, one with pepperoni and one regular) The pizza was very thick and chewy. My first time ordering from Sal's and I must say they have fantastic service. I went to pay for my Pizza order and didn't realize I left my wallet at home. The guy behind the register said don't worry about it and pay later or tomorrow. They put their trust in me to be honest and as soon as I got home with the Pizza, I went right back out and stopped in to pay them. I only live a short distance from them. Great place to stop and have a tasty slice of pizza. I have been coming here for years for a quick lunch with my mom on our way to the turnpike. Now I live about a mile away and was excited to be able to take their pizza home. I was a little disappointed because the take home pizza wasn't very crispy, in fact the crust wasn't cooked all the way through. I thought maybe it was an off night, but it has happened a few times. We grabbed a slice there while out shopping and it tasted great, so great, that we decided to order two trays to bring home with us after we finished shopping. It was very disappointing as the pizza did not taste or even look the same as the pizza we saw and tasted earlier in the day. One tray tasted under cooked because it was doughy, if that makes sense. The other tray was so over cooked that all the cheese was a dark brown and pulled off in a sheet of hardened cheese as soon as a slice was pulled or bitten into. If I had the pizza that I got that evening during the day when I tried it for the first time, I would never have ordered two trays to bring home four hours later. This is why consistency is important. I'm giving them two stars because the slice was delicious, but the two trays were woefully not. ‍ read more

We really like this place for takeout. The people answering the phone and working the counter are always extra pleasant, which should be the norm, but somehow in the Lehigh valley that's not always the case with pizza places. Haha. Anyway, we haven't tried tons of menu items because we are creatures of habit and get the same thing every time... plain cheese pizza (delicious chewy and crispy crust and always plenty of cheese), cheeseburger sub (I haven't tried but my husband keeps getting it so it must be good), fries (yay to crinkle cut), and wings (could be crispier). read more

Called to place an order for pickup, the guy taking the order didn't even know what came on their standard cheesesteak. Arrived 20 mins later and they had not even started the order. Ordered a large veggie pie from them last night. Along with an 11" hoagie & fries. Quoted about 20 min for pickup...Took me about 25-30 min to get there. Place was empty, other than 3 teenagers giggling at each other. One of whom forgot to make my hoagie cuz they were SO busy. I jest, place was DEAD. No other food waiting for pickup or being made-I was there about 8, hours are listed as closing at 10 pm. Maybe, because of covid, they're closing early and didn't want to be bothered with my order? That's what it felt like. I chose to not take the fries or wait for the kid (who was cleaning so he could leave-priorities!) to make my sandwich, just took the pie. It wasn't bad. Wasn't great, either. Under baked, all the toppings in the middle of the pie (w about 2-3 inches of just plain pizza near the crust.) and canned mushrooms. Honestly? Let me be the first to say, I love Sal's. Every time I've eaten there, the atmosphere was more then welcoming and the service was top-notch. I thoroughly enjoy sharing a pie with some of my best friends at Sal's. The reason I'm giving this four out of five stars is because I have had better pizza. Sal's pizza is good but for me, it's not the best. That also goes for their cheese steaks, pierogies, and chicken fingers and fries. All of which I've tasted before. I love Sal's! My husband and I order from there all the time. The food is always hot, always fresh, and always delicious. When we decide to go there to eat, the customer service is always impeccable- friendly, joking around- all around a great dine-in experience. We've had almost everything on the menu from salad to pizza to subs to dinners, and I don't think either one of us has ever had a complaint. I wanted this to be a great hoagie..... It was ok. Stopped here on the way back from new york on our way home to new jersey. Based on the reviews we decided to exit the turnpike and pick up some dinner to take home. The sandwich was lacking flavor, and to top it off the six pack of beer i bought had a different brand of bottles in it!!!!!! Im 80 miles away now and have a really crappy beer!!!!! I really wish they would have said something about there being different brands in the carriers. It wasn't even close!!! There was was no sign or anything. It was a real bummer. I've been getting my take out lunch here for years when I worked a few doors down at CVS (before it moved down the road near Chris's Diner). The hot wings & subs were always good & at the right temperature. And you always get extra: the subs were overflowing, extra wings in your order, & always extra sauce, celery, etc... whenever you ask for it. Recently I took a friend from out of town there because of their beer wall. My friend is really into microbrews & Sal's was one of the few places I could think of - and it definitely impressed him.
