I have used Sal Floral Design for at least 4 years now and am so glad I found them! Originally, I came by since their location was near my office. I wanted to order a flower arrangement to be delivered to my Grandma for Christmas. I was a little nervous to only be able to give rough guidelines and descriptions of what I wanted, and not to be able to see the final product before it was delivered. But, Sal exceeded my expectations. My Grandma loves roses, so roses were incorporated into her arrangement yet it still has a holiday feel to it. Now, I rely on them every year to make a beautiful arrangement. Also, its super convenient that you can do all your ordering online (including a description etc.) and they will handle everything for you (and provide a receipt once the arrangement has been made/delivered). I have used Sal Floral Designs for my surprise engagement at Canlis, and they delivered flawlessly. The blooms were fresh and the design beautiful! I recently ordered from them for Valentines Day. Because of the big snow storm, they delivered early. This was much appreciated as I don't know if they would have made it here due to the snow. I truly could not have been happier with my bridal bouquet.  Due to Covid, I was unable to do an in-person consult, so I sent Sal my bridal bouquet ideas from Pinterest. Terrible! The owner forgot about our appointment to pick out flowers for our wedding... and had gone to Mexico. The person who was there was incredibly rude and acted like we did something wrong. What should have been a beautiful experience was in fact horrible. There are not enough good things I can possibly say about Sal Floral Design. By chance Sal's delivery van drove by me on 520 right when I was thinking about my wedding flowers. I took it as a sign. From the moment I first talked to Brian to make an appointment with Sal, to me hugging Sal and Brian in tears at 12:30 AM on my wedding night when they came to pickup the flowers and vases, every last detail was perfect. They are absolute professionals, and Sal is a true artist. When you meet with Sal you totally have confidence in his work and know his design is going to be amazing. He told me our wedding was going to be stunning and although I believed him, he truly exceeded my wildest expectations. What I didn't know was how seamless they would make the entire day. Sal personally delivered the bouquets, wrist corsages, and boutonnieres to our hotel suite at the W. He and his team set up the amazing flowers at the wedding ceremony venue, and at the reception venue. To stay within my budget, six of the very large flower arrangements at the ceremony venue, then went to the reception. He and his team were there to immediately take the flowers after the ceremony and they were all perfectly set up before the first guest even arrived at the reception. It was kind of like magic. My now husband Michael, was originally skeptical about my vision of flowers, thinking that candles and other decorations would suffice. When we were walking arm and arm down the aisle together, he whispered to me: "you were so right about the flowers, they were worth every penny." Michael telling me I was right, was a perfect way to start our marriage. Thank you Sal! I can't tell you how many people told me they were the most beautiful flowers they've ever seen. I used to live much closer to Sal's original Capitol Hill location but moving downtown I discovered that their second location is a lot more convenient for me. Which is great because now I can still get amazing arrangements and flowers without going out of my way. But really, these are worth the distance no matter where you live. First: Sal and his team are experts. The reason I discovered them wasn't initially word of mouth or Yelp - it was seeing their shop in person. The storefront and the arrangements are so stunning that I had to walk in. And that was a bad idea because of course I walked out with a bunch of flowers :) But who could resist? Part of me wishes Sal could just move into my home and decorate it for me. Then after meeting him I felt even better about their shop. At the time (in Capitol Hill) they were brand new and he was so warm and inviting. In fact, the shop was open on his birthday and he gave me a piece of his birthday cake! So sweet - I won't forget it. Then today I was downtown and walking by. I spotted his logo from across the way and had to pop in to say hi and see the new space. Which worked out to be perfect timing because I'm newly engaged and I had some questions about wedding flowers and costs. I'll definitely have to book an appointment to have an official consultation but I was so excited that Sal still had a few mins to talk to me about this. I had a million questions and he was so patient and also excited for me. We talked colors, flowers, floral seasons (just in case the flowers I want aren't available during my projected wedding dates) and we talked about cost. He was super upfront about pricing and made it clear that while flowers can be expensive, he can also find creative ways to make things affordable without compromising his signature style. Which was a relief because the last thing I want is for him to make something he isn't proud of. Or something I wouldn't love! Even for a store I considered extremely fancy and upscale the pricing was so reasonable. The quote he talked about was literally half of what I had expected to spend. And I'm not having an over-the-top, expensive wedding! Just a normal one! But I really do want the flowers (even if they're limited) to be gorgeous and well done. He had all of these great ideas like making only some of the centerpieces big, but not all of them. And also re-using materials/flowers from the ceremony at the reception/dinner. DUH! That's brilliant. He also said prices can be lowered because it's not necessary for people to buy the vases or stands that the flowers come in when they're displayed. So you're paying just for the actual work/design and the flowers. Not for vases, stands and stuff you won't need or want when the event is over. He also talked about creative ways to reuse and repurpose the flowers right after the wedding. No flower gets wasted! I was so appreciative of all of this info but I had no idea. I also didn't know that as a full service florist he and his team actually come to set up the aisle, the flowers, and then stick around after the ceremony to help move the flowers to the reception area. It's not something anyone else has to do and it's one less thing for me to worry about. Then at the end of the evening they come back again to remove the bases and vases and essentially clean up what they prepped earlier in the day. So all that considered, I was even happier because the prices we discussed included that service - which makes buying flowers feel like a much better investment. It's about the artistry, the flowers, and the exceptional service. I also learned that Sal recently took over doing all floral arrangements for the Four Seasons next door. Which is incredible! I think it speaks a lot about his professionalism and his abilities as a florist. And during our little chat today he had someone run a quick errand for him. They took a gorgeous arrangement to another nearby business. So they have lots of big corporate customers and people paying big bucks for some of his really big pieces. That really spoke to me because it's not just brides and grooms and families wanting beautiful arrangements, it's big companies that have impeccable reputations. And now he represents them with flowers and helps make their spaces are pretty as they are. But enough about weddings and huge arrangements. In the store itself I saw so much more than I expected to see. Sal also sells cute accessories like these gorgeous framed (real) butterflies, candles, and more. He also has more than just wedding-type stuff. You can buy single flowers, you can buy bouquets, you can buy pre-arranged small pieces for a gift or a home. They even have terrariums and small potted plants and succulents. So it's way beyond just flowers or just fancy things. Everything is gorgeous but there's a whole range of things. So you can spend a lot or spend a little and you'll get something gorgeous. read more

I recently went to see Sal after being recommended to him by one of my girlfriends who used him for her wedding. My fiancé and I have been slowly planning our wedding and let me tell you, it is sooo stressful. Part of me thinks we should just elope. After meeting with Sal and his partner, I felt so much more at ease, at least for my flowers! I went in not knowing what I wanted and Sal patiently asked me a series of questions that I didn't even think had anything to do with deciding our floral arrangements. He listened intently and I could see the wheels turning in his head as he then showed me pictures that started to look more and more what I had in mind, even though I didn't really know what I had in mind in the first place! I had experience with Buckets when they were at this location. I decided to try this place. (Terrible idea) I called to place on order on Monday for pickup on Thursday. I told the owner that I wanted a bouquet for an anniversary that was on Thursday. I told him something eye catching and vibrant with lots of summer color. I asked him a price range and he told me $50-$70 for something decent. I told him ok. I asked questions on what it would look like he said he would make 3 different arrangements for me to choose from and would have them all ready at pickup. I told him I would be driving from Federal Way and traffic might be unpredictable. He said no problem. Gave him all my info and scheduled a time for pickup. 4pm. When I get there I let them know its for pickup and give them my name. The cashier looks confused and asks how much I wanted to spend. I let her know there should be three arrangements to choose from. She calls her boss, walks over to the front display and picks a small dull looking arrangement and says this is $50. The arrangement was terrible. The $10 arrangements you can get at Safeway were better looking than this. She states they did not have time to make 3 to choose from. Almost 4 days and they can't put together a few arrangements for me or call me and let me know they are to busy so I don't have to travel an hour to be let down. I ended up RUNNING four blocks north to a local flower shop (Pike Place Flowers) told them my story and they made an amazing arrangement (looked like a sunset) for $40. I would post the picture here but I don't want anyone to confuse this shop with quality work. read more

I called to order a large bouquet of flowers for a very special occasion, and was impressed by both Brian and Sal's care and concern to find out just what I wanted. Sal spent quite a bit of time discussing what type of flowers, the colors, the design, and the type of vase. He wanted to hear my vision and he offered me his professional advice as well. He had great ideas, as far as the types of flowers & colors - and we ended up using a low horizontal vase that had all types of flowers looking like they were naturally blooming right from the vase.
