    The dishes

It was about time we tried a churrasqueria in the woodlands. I have never been to this particular chain, and being the adventurous Elite I thought we should give it a try. For the most part, the buffet is nothing really different than other churrasquerias in Houston. But the bacon on the buffet is bruleed so it's sweet. I guess that's different from what I remember. The asparagus is also huge just like the other churrasquerias in Houston however. Oh they do serve sushi. Note the salmon at the sushi place section is smoked salmon and not sashimi. No wasabi or soy sauce too from what I saw. Their cheesy bread is homemade. Pretty good. But I like Fogo better. I knew it was a trap as the basket kept magically filling up each time we got up. They also got mashed potatoes and fried bananas by request. As for the meats, Picanha is usually my go to dish. They also got a garlic version as well. But at this place my favorite was the wagyu beef, baby beef and surprisingly the beef ribs. In fact the table next to us kept asking for more. It's not like Fogo's beef ribs which are meh. These ones are tender. Was not a big fan of the lamb t-bone here which requires special order as they won't otherwise bring it around. Very gamey taste too. The lamb sirloin was gamey too. And moreover it was also tough (as was the Sirloin wrapped in bacon). The chicken legs that they brought around had a sauce on them. I asked what it was and the gaucho said ketchup! Lmfao. Pass. At least he was honest! The pork ribs that came around also had a sauce on it. I didn't care for the flavor. Maybe ketchup too. lol The quiejo asado with honey was a new dish I hadn't see before. It was ok. Just fried cheese. Kids discount cuts off at 11 years old which is a year younger that Fogo. Also the discount is only $10 off the lunch price which is less than Fogo at a similar age bracket (Fogo gives half price off). My kid don't eat much. In fact she spent the last half of the meal in the bathroom. I guess making room for desert. Our waitress was very nice. But like almost every restaurant I've been to they didn't acknowledge the special occasion I noted on the reservation form on open table. In my old age "full" feels a whole lot different than full when I was younger. 10 years ago I could go into overdrive to get my moneys worth. But now full even with meat and no carbs just feels .... vomitous. This body is weak. I am but a shell of the man I once was. Sigh.

The ambiance is delightful, you feel you are in a very up scale restaurant, but the mood is casual and the suggestion for attire is dressy casual. The food Has never disappointed me and my family and friends. The salad bar is always fresh with an abundance of choices including sushi. The pan de queso (cheese bread) is a must have. The staff is amazing everyone is so helpful and friendly. Everything considered, all in,its the best bang for the buck. Fixed price no surprises. Try it and see for yourself

Great food and great service !! Definitely recommend this restaurant for a dining experience!

Service is way better than Fogo de Chao, the buffet bar is delicious and has more variety. The meats keep coming constantly and prices are way more affordable. I like the ambiance and the wooden walls. They gave us a free dessert for my husband's birthday and let him choose from the standard dessert menu. In most places de bring you a standard piece of cake without asking you.

Announced their doors opening at 4pm, but had a secret lottery several hours before.... This promotion was a cruel joke,

Feeling quite deceived (and very disappointed) over the marketing campaign launched for the Grand Opening and how it was handled. We had been super excited for this concept (for weeks!) and kept a close eye on their online presence, social media posts, and we even signed up for the "VIP" emails.... When their Facebook page announced they would officially open their doors on Saturday the 25th at 4pm, we planned to be there ready! To add to this excitement, they advertised $1 meals for the first 50 guests in the door... Woohoo! I made a reservation for 4pm (the earliest time slot available) on OpenTable the night before. On Saturday, April 25th, we arrived around 3:30pm to see a "Black Friday" sort of line out the door and around the building. Turns out that well before the expected opening time, they had already seated the first 50 people. After interviewing the crowd, it was revealed that the restaurant had staged a lottery a few hours prior and handed out "Golden Tickets" to a lucky few. I guess you needed access to secret intel to have known this. Regardless, we were still eager to dine on opening day and stuck around for a bit... Despite expecting to pay full price, we were still hoping to keep our dinner plan. We had a reservation, after all. After waiting in line for half an hour more, we finally made it inside the doors! I approached the hostess to check in for our reserved table, however & much to my disdain she explained that "it did not matter whether you had a reservation." Apparently, everyone was being treated as a walk-in, first come first serve.... At this point, the restaurant was overwhelmed with waves of people waiting, that the wait would continue for over an hour or more. Thanks to this chaos, our Saturday schedule was ruined and dinner was a total flop. This Grand Opening was an absolute circus. Planning ahead meant absolutely nothing, and it was all about luck of the draw and insider knowledge. Jokes on me. This experience definitely left a bad first impression. Really makes me mistrust their advertising and poor way of handling their reservation system... Customer service is a huge reflection of an establishment, and this left a sour taste.

Rotating meat. Expansive buffet. Great service. All add up to a place you want to visit. Our first server also manned the bar and took particular care with our cocktails. The Brazilian caiparinha (spelling is questionable) was delicious. The buffet can easily dominate and be your entire meal so plan accordingly as the unending meats deserve a big portion of your appetite. They were all tasty and well executed. This is a warm and receiving dining room with an upbeat staff. It's bustling but you can still hold a reasonable conversation. Totally enjoyed the meal.

Easily our favorite date night dinner option! The salad and sushi bar are extensive and beautifully presented. The meats carved table-side are always exactly as we request and delicious. The staff is attentive and charming. Highly suggest the Carajillo cocktail created tableside! Excellent drink and fantastic presentation.

It's not a large restaurant, especially compared to some of the other Brazilian steakhouses. The service was good. Overall, we had a good meal. The common theme is that compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, the selection at the salad bar as well as the meat selection is a bit more limited. That said, I enjoyed everything I chose from the salad bar. Regarding the meat selection, there were a couple that stood out: the picanha and the rib-eye were both very good. Everything else was so-so (the filet mignon in particular was pretty tough for that cut of meat). That said, I would rather go to a restaurant that does a couple of things well vs. everything just okay. One thing to note. I don't know how they do it, but the price is significantly lower that their competition (like ~30-35% lower). When you factor that in, this restaurant is quite reasonable for what they offer.

We still had to wait 30 minutes. It was a Saturday night and Valentine's Day so it was busy and I get it. However, once we were sat, after nearly 2 hours, I only had about 6 pieces of meat. We didn't get offered half of the meat. Most of the meat we did get offered weren't even beef, mainly chicken, sausage, etc. Our cards were flipped to the green side the WHOLE time we were there, but servers were either skipping or just not even coming. Despite making eye contact. then, when we were offered certain meats, they would cut a slice for my s/o, but when it was my turn, the server would say "oh i have to get your cut from the back, I'll be right back" then never come back. This happened twice. By the 3rd time, i was clearly upset and that may have been the only reason the server actually came back that time. Our server also kept asking if we were just waiting on meat, in which we'd say yes just to still continue waiting. After THREE hours and still about 6 meats total, we requested the dessert menu - another 15 minutes just to get the menu to us. At this point, we ordered it and i asked to speak to the manager. I have never requested to speak to a manager at a restaurant before, that is how horrible this experience was. Again, had to wait for the manager to make his way to us. Once i explained to him my experience, his response in general was a very like "welp that sucks" attitude & didn't even seem really concerned. He offered to charge us as a "lite dinner" + drinks + dessert. Which I still dont even think is a fair resolution, because my dinner was their mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and 6 slices of meat. Even getting the check took time. God bless the host/hostess as they seem to be fighting for their life trying to get everyone seated. In the future, if there isn't availability, then they shouldnt be offering reservations they cannot honor. Will not be back and i definitely do not recommend the place.

There was a live guitarist/singer playing which was a fantastic vibe. A complimentary basket of four pieces of cheese bread was brought out, excellent way to start the meal! For two people, we ordered: 2x Coxinha (3.5/5): While the chicken is a tad dry, it's complimented well by the creamy sauce 1x Kibe (3/5): Reminded me of a meatball crossed with a falafel, like something you'd order on a skewer. Not too grainy and a nice smoky flavor. 1x Risole de Camarao (4.5/5): I thought this was a better version of the Coxinha. The shrimp flavor really permeates and reminds you of a shrimp risotto in a single bite. Churrasco Gaucho (16oz) (2/5): We decided to get this to sample all of the meats. Unfortunately I thought everything was really salty. Maybe it's characteristic of the Brazilian grilling style, because the smoky flavors did come through, but it just felt too salty for me on everything. Honestly maybe it just needed some kind of vegetable besides beans to help offset. Whatever their chili sauce is (5/5): I have no idea what this is but it reminds me of mashed up bird eye chili sauce..it's really good. Sprinkle it on everything. Helps with the saltiness of things. Milk Flan (4/5): A rich custard style of flan, thick and very sharable. Not too sweet. I liked this as a great palate cleanser. Service was really prompt and friendly. (Theirs so many places that missed the mark, and devalue elegance with LOUD live performances). Tourao did great! Open salad bar was nice option with hot and chilled choices. Grill beef stew, Mac n cheese, mash potatoes, to chicken salad, and many others. Ordering the drinks which should've been so simple became a verbal game of tug-a-war with words. He kept asking for any other beverage which we continued to decline. I reminded him of my lemons over half a dozen times. I even asked other individuals who visit the table. Our server mentions jokingly that the lemons are coming in from Mexico, must be. Cause damn. Finally got lemons after downing/eating a few plates.
