Worst sushi I have ever had in my life. Service was 6/10. The spicy tuna roll tasted like it came out of a dystopian factory. It definitely was NOT freshly made. Nothing about it was fresh. I ordered a custom roll. Additionally, with tuna, cucumber, avocado inside, and salmon on top. They made a roll with a tiny piece of salmon, large chunks of avocado, and super thinly sliced cucumber and tuna on top. The roll fell apart. The tuna was dry and weirdly colored. It was not enjoyable. It was the blandest sushi I've ever had in my life. The only thing that's good about their sushi is that the ginger they serve isn't dyed pink. If I return I'll probably only order a water and thinly sliced ginger. read more

There was a roach on the boxes that we were about to take home. Asked for a refund but were told because the roach was "not on our table" we did not get the refund. The food was mediocre at best, as well. read more

I had a sit-down lunch at Sakura with work colleagues a few Fridays ago. We sat at one of the tables (not at the hibachi grill or at the sushi bar). Food was pretty good. We shared vegetable tempura and a California roll. I had sashimi - white tail, salmon, tuna - and a couple of tobiko and masago sushi pieces. Our waitress was nice. We asked for separate checks and there was no issue. Inside looks cute inside. I'm curious to see what the hibachi experience is like; I'd maybe check it out in the future. read more

1st off the serving size of the fried rice for $9 is almost non-existence, second the restaurant doesn't follow instructions as they were instructed to make the fried rice spicy and to add shrimp and they completely disregarded my request. I went here. The food was pretty good. The service was fast. The lights were dimmed. Shen I went to school the next day my stomach hurt spook bad and I became ill and had to go home. I went to the doctor and they said I had food poisoning. My friend a year ago had went to Sakura and went home. During the night she threw up 5 times throughout 6 hours. What a waste of time and money. My son and I ordered the filet and chicken, filet medium. The first time he took it off it was still raw, had a little chill event he finished cooking all the food and then put our back for about 30 seconds. Guess what? STILL RAW! It wouldn't have. When so bad had the rest of food tasted good, but everything was bland, no flavor. No sesame oil used, almost no garlic or any MSG. The cook was nice enough, but not good at his job. It was suggested that I come here and I wanted to show the kids a different experience. We arrived right as they opened and had a party of 2 adults and 4 kids. We went on Veterans Day and had the pleasure of sitting with a gentleman who engaged us in great conversation about his time in Korea and the military. Well the experience and entertainment was amazing. The kids really enjoyed it although the younger kids were afraid of the fire and took some time for them to open up again. The food was delicious. Everything was cooked to order and had flavor to it and the best part is warming it up the next day and eating it. The only issue we experienced was with our check and the manager and waiter promptly addressed and corrected the mistake. read more

We were heading to Roadhouse for dinner but the wait was long (very much worth the wait though!) However this was not. They hubs and I had chicken teriyaki meals. The chicken was overdone and not very hot and we waited awhile. The waiter was so nice and attentive though. The food was just ok and for $25 a plate not really food. The Hibachi is probably way better and maybe sushi (we aren't fans) but not the best. I'll wait for Roadhouse next time! read more

The food was so good and so flavorful it felt like my mouth was in heaven but besides that I think that the chef had a lot of attitude and he was very demanding he also tried to force my sister to eat shrimp as well as me. We took our family to Sakura last night. Never again. The bill was $170.00+ and the food was horrible. I had the chicken teriyaki with fried rice. It was lukewarm with some pieces of chicken cold. The taste was equal to something bought in the frozen section at any supermarket. My husband had the chicken and sirloin. No flavor and the steak tasted steamed. My twins had sushi and it had absolutely no taste. They had a California roll and a salmon roll. My wine tasted thick and oily. I'm really disappointed because my girls love sushi and I haven't found any other places nearby to buy it for them. And the table was sticky. read more

Definitely my favorite hibachi spot. The food is always yummy and the service is decent. Due to Covid, they're using a lot of styrofoam and I'm not loving that. I've been to a lot of restaurants and most are still using normal plates, or maybe just switching out for plastic utensils. Styrofoam is a no-go in my book. read more

I went here today and had the worst experience ever. I don't even want to talk about what happened because it was just beyond me. All I can say is I was argued with over my food being cold and the reasoning was "everything is cooked separately, therefore sometimes things come out cold but not ice cold". My $40 filet mignon was cold and I GOT ARGUED WITH. When I said I was over it and wanted to leave and just pay for what I got, I was charged $20 for my drink and for the hibachi soup and salad. Our first visit there. We were immediately provided a table - - no waiting. Server was very friendly, personable and checked on us throughout our meal. My wife and I both had the chicken and shrimp hibachi combination which came with soup and salad. No complaints about the food. Tried calling for over an hour to order take out. Decided to pack up the kids and just drive over and place the order. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that I was standing there I let them know their phone isn't working. She told me told she is too busy to answer the phone. So I said okay I'd like to place an order for take out. She then tells me they are too busy for take out. If they are that busy maybe they should be answering the phones to let customers know. Friday night dinner disaster. At first I thought they were understaffed as someone called out or something. I read a few recent reviews and realized it is the norm. They had one person bagging and checking out takeout and doing all of the non hibachi table service. She was literally running around. The 1 sushi chef was moving so slowly it seems he was trying to make a point. After waiting an hour for sushi for the server told us they only have one sushi chef tonight, she should have told us that before ordering we would have gotten something else. If I could give this visit 0 stars I would. I am very disappointed at the price gaging that took place when I asked for no carrots in my rice, but that they could give me a few extra onions. The waiter said they do not do substitutes, but that it would be extra to add onion. Well, I said ok. However, I never imagined in a million years that that extra onion would cost me $7.50. Yhat's right. You read it right, $7.50! When I asked the manager, she said that is the way we do things here. She went on to say that if you go to Red Robin you only get a little onion, but here we give slot and we add spices and glaze. Doesn't everybody do that? Unbelievable! She went on to say how prices have gone up to which I said I understood, but the waiter should have disclosed that "extra" meant $7.50. Come on. Who's pay g $7.50 for a little extra o ion??? To top it off, we ordered appetizers that never came and when questioned the waiter said the appetizers are added to your meal plate when ordering, not before the meal, on a separate plate. This was unacceptable. The word "appetizer" means something that comes out before the main dish. If your main dish already has shrimp or mushroom and your appetizer was supposed to be separate shrimp or mushroom, how would you know if you received your appetizer if they include on your entree plate with the other shrimp and mushroom. Sounds suspect. Don't you think? I have eaten here before and that was not how service was provided. Oh, and didn't tea at restaurants like this used to be free. JS. Needless to say, we will not be returning, nor leaving a tip. Poor customer service. read more

This is a franchised large format Japanese Hibachi house that also offers sushi and a few "fusion" offerings from China and Thailand. This style restaurant seems to be coming into fashion on the East Coast, although it is more played out on the Left Coast. This one is apparently under new management, and they are attempting to make the facility more comfortable and attractive. They have done a good job on the creature comforts, and the service is also attentive, except for the minor language difficulties in understanding each other through the Korean and South Jerzee accents. I was the guest this night, and my hostess did all the ordering. I opted for the sushi side of the joint, although the Hibachi room was more active and colorful, especially when they performed their volcano show with the ball of fire shooting into the air. Luckily, we could see that from the safe distance on the far side of the room. The Clear Soup was quite good as part of the dinner package. The Sashimi platter (Deluxe?) was ample with a nice variety of well sliced fresh fish. They all had good taste, but I would have preferred them slightly cooler. I tasted all the offerings, but was not feeling compelled to finish them. The Rolls (Sorry. The names were not disclosed to me) were okay, but not exciting. Typical sushi rolls, but why the chef put cream cheese in it is beyond me. Do they even have that in Japan? This is not something I would consider ordering on my own. Maybe this is what is popular in this part of South Jersey, or because it is close to Philly, cream cheese is a concession to local culture. Fish and cream cheese? No. Thank you! I was happy to have dinner with a friend, and content to let her treat in return for something I handled for her. Still, something more authentically Japanese would tempt me more than this Korean version of an Americanized Japanese Hibachi/Sushi store. It just didn't hang together for me. read more

Went here today for lunch. We were the first to arrive, and just opted for the regular menu. Our server was very nice and he made sure we were well-taken cared of. We had the sashimi sampler, spider appetizer (soft shell crab), shrimp tempura, and shumai. The star of our meal was the soft shell crab, definitely a must try! We loved the sashimi too! read more

I recently went to Sakura since it's near my house and it was ok, not great and a little pricey. Sushi/Sahimi 4 stars so if that's what you like, it's a good, fresh choice. I had some vegetarian rolls and soup which were good, not great. I wanted several other items on the menu but they were not available (pork sliders, avocado salad) The Bad - heavy grease smell throughout from the hibachi side. Overall, it is a Chinese interpretation of what Japanese food might be so for me it was not that great an experience. For $70, I could have had a better experience and more food elsewhere. read more

Terrible service. Food was burnt. It started with me asking if they had a noodle dish on the main menu for my daughter who didn't want hibachi. The server says, "does this look like Chinese take out to you"? Correction SIR! There's ramen, udon and yakisoba. He says he doesn't think they make those anymore. PS... they do. Ordered a sushi roll but asked for cream cheese to be added. He brought it way late and I said there's no cream cheese. He said yes there is. Took a bite. No there isn't. He comes back like 30 minutes later after I flagged him down. I gave it back to him to take off my bill. The guy cooking never used an oil or butter on our meat. He threw it on that hot, dry grill and burnt it, adding the tiniest bit of butter later. No show. And he dumped yum yum sauce on our fried rice. Weak drinks. Never got our water refilled while we sat. Another waiter told him to. I watched him dump a pitcher of pop and fill it with tap water and bring it over. Never got take out boxes. Had to go get my own. He printed the bill for one couple and left us. Had to wait 20 minutes to get his attention to get ours. Never again. read more
