It was a rainy day ... a really rainy day and we were searching for a midafternoon late lunch or…read moreearly dinner and since the temperature outside had dipped ramen seemed like a great choice. We were getting near the Deptford exit and I had passed Ramen Spot on numerous times so off we went. I love restaurants that transform you from the parking lot into a totally different place that is reflective of the type of food being served to diners. Ramen Spot creates a feeling of an off the main drag ramen location in Tokyo. Some fun decorations and an appealing menu had us forgetting the day outside, the traffic, and even the parking lot. Service was superb and friendly!! I ordered one of the Ramen options and my dining partner went with the chicken curry! Both were outstanding with large portions ... some of the chicken curry went home and was really good on day two! There was an interesting wall of comments from diners that added to the charm of Ramen Spot! Definitely will be back ... it's conveniently located right off the 42 Expressway and close to the shopping area in Deptford.

Enoki and egg soup is my favorite appetizer. Light broth with umami and perfect saltiness. My second favorite appetizer is agedashi tofu. So silky like pudding with light teriyaki broth. Beef roll up with scallions: beef is tender with some kind of sweet teriyaki sauce. It's pretty good. Eggplant filled with ground chicken. It looks appealing but unfortunately a bit too greasy. The sushi here is very special. The sushi rice is silky and moist. The fish piece is bigger than the rice. The eel is a must try here. It's very big compared to the rice underneath it. It very flavorful too. Mt entree is steamed salmon with seafood broth. I recommend squirting the lemon to the broth to make it taste like yuzu sauce as it lightens the whole dish and makes it less fishy.
