The lemon salmon with mushrooms was not only delicious but also an enormous portion. The roasted duck confit with green beans and mushroom risotto was another highlight--risotto is rarely nailed, but this one was perfectly balanced and spot on. The only downside was that the duck could've used a touch more salt and arrived less hot than expected. As usual, I ordered the smoked duck appetizer, which is always beautifully presented in a smoke-filled dome. Unlike my entree which wasn't hot enough, I wish it had been served colder this time- it was a bit too warm. The miso soup and seaweed salad are always solid, but I actually prefer the spicy versions of both. They add more flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy. Desserts are delicious, the sesame ice cream that comes with the bread pudding and cheesecake is some of my favorite- I wish I could buy a pint of it to bring home. Big fan of Wasai, both their French and Japanese, but it's just missing that 5th star for me.

Such a plus that they are also BYOB. I got the sushi and sashimi for 2 which included an assortment of fish, and two chef's choice specialty rolls. The server wasn't sure of the types of fish for some of the sashimi so that was a little disappointing but the food all tasted super fresh and amazing so no complaints there!

Got the black garlic ramen which was delicious. Definitely one of the better Ramen's I have had in a while. Sum Ramen is worth checking out. There are a lot of stores around Sum Ramen as well so it could make for a nice evening in Westfield! I was too full for dessert but will definitely be back again to try more of the menu!

I was able to enjoy my meal and my mouth didn't feel like it was burning. My boyfriend normally likes black garlic Ramen, but he decided to try the oxtail Ramen. He said it was okay, but he said most likely he will stick with his black garlic Ramen for next time. I did taste some of his oxtail Ramen and I agree I enjoyed my Ramen way better than his. I feel like the broth the spicy tan tan ramen was made with was super yummy and this is coming from a person who isn't the biggest fan of Ramen. We also tried the curry korokke which was fried mashed pumpkin and we got it stuffed with mozzarella. It came with a side of curry sauce. The curry korokke was okay but it definitely needed the curry sauce. By itself it did taste a little bland but I did enjoy it overall. As for the service, it was great and the staff was super friendly. I would go back if I'm craving ramen.

We have been coming to Roosterspin for years now - probably our favorite spot in Westfield. We all…read moreshared the honey butter rice balls, bibimbap, japchae, and regular size of the soy garlic wings. We have been coming here for a while and always get the honey butter rice balls without fail. The crunch on the outside and chewy texture on the inside is perfect and we love the sweet taste. I would pass on the bibimbap next time, it was kind of bland and the crispy rice was burnt instead of golden. The japchae was the star of the meal. So much flavor, perfect cook of the noodles, and thin beef. If I wasn't sharing dishes, I would get this all for myself. Lastly, we got the regular size of soy garlic chicken, which was 12 pieces because they were out of the big drumsticks. The crunch was great with perfectly cooked chicken on the inside. I don't like that they charge extra for sauce but honestly this meal was such a bargain. A meal for 4 under $100 at a nice restaurant is rare. The service was fine, refilled our water on time but our waiter could've been more attentive overall. Ambiance is always great with a retro vibe and cool lighting.

I dared to try the cauliflower wings (half & half), which actually wasn't bad. Both flavors was good, although I personally like the spicy better (just make sure you can handle it, although it won't be too bad if you're used to spicy food). Garlic fried rice was okay, but not the best. Also seems like they don't give you a side of pickled radish at this point, but maybe that's because we're in Jersey. Also the kimchi fries weren't what I expected. What the fries were crispy and tasty, they just give you a tiny cup of kimchi cheese sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expected the fries to be way more loaded. I ordered for pickup and it did take a lot longer than expected. I also felt sorry for the hostess, who was running around trying to help. There also was 5 people just standing around chatting, but the music was just a tad too loud to hear anyone trying to get their attention. I'm sure dining in would be a chill vibe, but can still have that and have it all together yk? Last thing is I definitely asked for bacon mustard sauce and heard them confirm over the phone, a bit annoyed they forgot that!
