I came here on Friday around 4:30 p.m.- when they opened for dinner. It was Valentine's day, so I understand why it was pack. Was told it would be a 30 minutes wait but it was actually less than 5 minutes. Also, I wanted to dine-in and they assumed I was doing the teppanyaki. Therefore, I recommend informing the front desk that you want to dine-in or teppanyaki. Wait time will vary between the two. As for the food...I'd say for the price...it's a no go. Quality/taste vs price. Quality/taste wasn't up to par. The total of our tab was about $55+ and we added tip etc, but for $55+ I could get better food at other places. The bento box I got was $29.99 and the Tonkatsu was about $20+ (can't recall price). Bento box has a variety of food. Sashimi Salmon was fresh. The chicken teriyaki mediocre. Not enough sauce. And they charge extra for more sauce etc (1.50+ per sauce I believe). Shumai that came with the meal was alright too. Small and not enough fillings. Salad/Miso soup was good like other places I've had. California roll was okayish too. The Tonkatsu plate wasn't too appetizing too. Pork pieces came in big chunks. The pork had no flavor itself (they didn't season it etc). The sauce that came with it wasn't good either. Bento box: 2/5 (for the variety of food on it and the sashimi) Pork Tonkatsu: 2/5 (for quantity and tenderness of the pork) Service: our server was awesome. She came around to check on us even though it was quite busy. My only complaint on service is the order they serve the food. I got my bento box about 20-25 minutes before the Pork Tonkatsu came out. We're both pretty patient, so we waited, but almost cancelled the order before it came out. Overall, disappointed in the food. And like I said, for the price the food wasn't worth it. I've had better for less at other places. I don't mind spending $50+ on food for two but only if it's good tasting food! read more

This was the worst food I've ever had! I got the vegetarian meal and it was tofu, lettuce, some asparagus and onions. It wasn't cooked enough the onions were raw, the asparagus was crunchy and who in the heck cooks lettuce?! The tofu was soggy and falling apart! It was all seasoned with lemon. LEMON! So gross. The fried rice was awful and he burned the eggs in it. The salad tasted like straight pepper! the spicy sauce was horrible and did not taste like regular spicy sauce. Never again will we come here. We came in last night for a birthday celebration, we had reservations even though it was for a Wednesday and I'm certainly glad we did. The place was packed and there were many birthday parties/celebrations going on. We were seated promptly and everybody in the restaurant was very friendly. We ordered drinks, then our food, and our chef came out within about 10 minutes and started cooking. He was new to the restaurant but was very knowledgeable and friendly and we had a lovely time. The food was amazing, probably the best Teppan Yaki we have all had in a long time. I read some of the previous reviews and was a little leary about this location, but it didn't look like anybody in the restaurant was having problems and everybody was having a good time. We really wanted sushi before our movie and my mom suggested we come here since it's in the same plaza. When we were getting close to the plaza we noticed the street lights were out as well as the power being out in the plaza. My fiancé is not a fan of mayo so we got the spicy mayo on the side and the crab was mixed with siracha instead of the mayo. What a hit. Oh and I almost forgot they started us off with a cucumber and crab salad in rice vinegar that was excellent. We also had ordered sake nigori (milky sake) and my mom ordered her Cabernet (red wine) my fiancé ordered the chef sushi choice with California roll. And I ordered the masago with quail egg nigiri (it's a personal fave) I was in luck because they had the habanero masago. My mom wanted a little more so we ordered the red dragon the same way again since it was so good the first time. The power finally turned back on as we were finishing up. My mom also ordered tuna sashimi. I honestly wanted to order more but we were stuffed after finishing up everything. We ordered a milky sake to go and genuinely enjoyed our food, drinks and service. Again I want to thank the staff for being so accommodating and servicing us in the dark. We held our phones flash lights up for the chefs to be able to make our food. So the servers were nice, and the food was fine until I opened my leftovers and heated them up. I had taken a couple bites when I saw a BUG on my plate. I thought, well maybe somehow it got in there when I put it on my plate from the container, but then I saw ANOTHER. This food was in the container and tied in a plastic bag and I had taken it immediately home, so I don't know how it could have gotten contaminated on the way back. Even still, I checked my cupboards, fridge, counters to make sure, but I had never even seen anything like that and didn't when I looked, so it had to have come from the restaurant, which really skeeves me out because I had eaten part of it at the restaurant. I immediately called to let them know and told the woman I talked to that I had a couple pics if they needed it. She told me she would talk to the manager, and I left my phone number, but no one ever called me to inquire or idk, maybe apologize? We had the rainbow roll, lunch special with beef roll, and the New York steak with rice. Overall the food was good. The rainbow roll was fresh but needed more dressing on it. The miso in my option needed just a dab more miso and a little more tofu. The salad was cold and crispy with a very tasty ginger dressing. The Lunch special was a great deal since it came with the rice, soup, salad, tempura, California roll, and a choice of your choosing. I choose the beef roll which was an asparagus wrapped with beef around it with a teriyaki glaze. I highly recommend that choice as the asparagus still had a bite to it and the beef was not over cooked. The NY steak was cooked perfectly medium as requested and was tender and well seasoned. Seating hosts are not communicating and it led us to waste 30 minutes waiting to not be seated. Then another server came to the front and loudly told her "if you're going to seat anyone, seat this other group because they were here." There was no one in our line of sight that was there before us. The second server repeated herself and said "seat them first" in a strong tone. They didn't say anything to us until right after 7:10 as we were walking up to the counter to ask if we'd be seated (thinking maybe they wouldn't be rude enough to dismiss us like that right in front of us), the second server said "oh, you won't be seated until 7:30. Well turns out our chef decided he wasn't feeling like working on the experience part of the job, and thought making food I could get a Panda Express would suffice. last night I had a reservation at the Persian restaurant nearby but they didn't let us in cos apparently they ran out of food. bad start to the night already so we went to Sakura since it was close by. I've eaten at the Sakuras before for teppanyaki & was never really impressed by them; I like teppan elsewhere. we wanted sushi so we sat at the bar to get immediate seating. one of their specials of the day was "fresh oysters". I questioned if "today's specials" meant it would be a discount. I ordered them anyway since half a dozen was $17.99 which is decently priced. when they brought out the plate, right off the bat, it did not look fresh. they were super watery & had too many toppings. we each had one & regretted ordering it. it was so mushy & bad; it was not fresh at all! we could not eat anymore. to make matters worse, my sister whispered to me to look straight ahead of me. there was a cockroach crawling on the sushi bar!!! I could not believe it. what a horrible dining experience. at least my sushi as good and got rid of the bad oyster taste. when we got the bill, the oysters were $19.99. I told the server it's $17.99 on the menu. she said it was an old menu & that the price changed & asked if that was okay. her asking me if it was okay made me feel obligated to say yes. IMO the price should be honored cos that's the restaurant's mistake for not catching that & putting it out on the floor. she came back & showed me a new menu with the $19.99 price & asked me if I did not like the oysters cos we did not finish them. I told her they were not fresh. thank goodness we got them comped. I really did not want to be that bratty person in the first place, but I did not want to get sick from eating them. now I know that "specials" are probably not special at all & must mean they have extra old food they are trying to get rid of. We were looking for a room to fit 15 family members all together for a 50th anniversary celebration on a Saturday night. This place was able to accommodate us. We did make reservations a week in advance. They have a separate room which has 2 stoves so we had 2 cooks. This was our first time there, we thought it was just a normal tekpinaki. We were wrong. When the cooks Barry and Ace came in, they had music for the presentation and throughout their time cooking for us. They did their dances, jokes, and tricks with the cooking. It was a fun time and made our experience great! We have been to a lot of different tekpinaki, this one was the most enjoyable. Our servers were great and went above and beyond when we needed anything extra. We didn't have to ask for refills, they were already asking us if we wanted one. We ordered appetizers: muscles, tuna sushi and tempura veggies. All were amazing. Our tekpinaki plates were mostly combos of chicken and fillet mignon. The fillet mignon melted in your mouth. First time and last time I will ever go to this restaurant. Went for a birthday dinner and they charged me for my 10-year-old son as an adult. When I pointed it out to the waitress she said it was because he ordered spicy chicken. The funny part is she even served him an ice cream with the other kids even though he was charged as an adult. We ended up waiting an hour to get our dinner started which I had to ask if our cook could get started because we already had our night planned and had pre purchased tickets for a movie. We ordered seafood with our dinner and that had to be cooked last because the other party had allergies. I suggest asking about allergies before hand and seating guests accordingly, especially since we had already waited an hour past our reservation time. To make matters even worse, the next day we realized we got the wrong debit card, had to cancel ours, and go without access to funds until we can receive a new debit card.
