We really wanted sushi before our movie and my mom suggested we come here since it's in the same plaza. When we were getting close to the plaza we noticed the street lights were out as well as the power being out in the plaza. We still had over an hour for the movie and my mom figured let's try and see if we can still eat. Lol. I thought for sure with no power they wouldn't be able to serve us. But the staff there were welcoming and a team of troopers. Since we knew the power was out we figured let's just sit at the sushi bar and do the raw options. Luckily they did have shrimp tempura ready for some rolls so the chef suggested the red dragon roll. My fiancé is not a fan of mayo so we got the spicy mayo on the side and the crab was mixed with siracha instead of the mayo. What a hit. Oh and I almost forgot they started us off with a cucumber and crab salad in rice vinegar that was excellent. We also had ordered sake nigori (milky sake) and my mom ordered her Cabernet (red wine) my fiancé ordered the chef sushi choice with California roll. And I ordered the masago with quail egg nigiri (it's a personal fave) I was in luck because they had the habanero masago. My mom wanted a little more so we ordered the red dragon the same way again since it was so good the first time. The power finally turned back on as we were finishing up. My mom also ordered tuna sashimi. I honestly wanted to order more but we were stuffed after finishing up everything. We ordered a milky sake to go and genuinely enjoyed our food, drinks and service. Again I want to thank the staff for being so accommodating and servicing us in the dark. We held our phones flash lights up for the chefs to be able to make our food. Sushi dining in the dark was a great experience. And I can't wait to go back! read more

So the servers were nice, and the food was fine until I opened my leftovers and heated them up. I had taken a couple bites when I saw a BUG on my plate. I thought, well maybe somehow it got in there when I put it on my plate from the container, but then I saw ANOTHER. This food was in the container and tied in a plastic bag and I had taken it immediately home, so I don't know how it could have gotten contaminated on the way back. Even still, I checked my cupboards, fridge, counters to make sure, but I had never even seen anything like that and didn't when I looked, so it had to have come from the restaurant, which really skeeves me out because I had eaten part of it at the restaurant. I immediately called to let them know and told the woman I talked to that I had a couple pics if they needed it. She told me she would talk to the manager, and I left my phone number, but no one ever called me to inquire or idk, maybe apologize? My girl friend that was also there that night had mentioned there was a bug in her cocktail, so I guess that should have been a warning. I don't know if they even care since no one even called to ask about my experience, which makes me wonder if this is just an ongoing problem. read more

Water and Lemonade sit there empty for 15-20 mins. Waiting for bills and boxes for long time. Went to have a birthday dinner with my family. The girl at the front was rude. I felt like she basically threatened to give our seats away if we weren't all inside by a time frame. She told walk ins that she would give them the seats if we all were not inside and pointed at us. The chef was demanding a tip before getting started. Seating hosts are not communicating and it led us to waste 30 minutes waiting to not be seated. Came in around 6:40 and were told there was a guaranteed table at 7:30 but by 7:10 if reservations hadn't shown we'd be first to be seated in their place. So we waited for that 7:10 check-in. Around 6:55 the host told us we'd be seated soon because someone called and cancelled their reservation. Then another server came to the front and loudly told her "if you're going to seat anyone, seat this other group because they were here." There was no one in our line of sight that was there before us. The second server repeated herself and said "seat them first" in a strong tone. They didn't say anything to us until right after 7:10 as we were walking up to the counter to ask if we'd be seated (thinking maybe they wouldn't be rude enough to dismiss us like that right in front of us), the second server said "oh, you won't be seated until 7:30. The hibachi chicken lacked flavor (everything was flavored mainly with garlic powder), and the drunk cousin roll was not the best, but nonetheless the server and chef were polite (4/5 customer service)! We had the rainbow roll, lunch special with beef roll, and the New York steak with rice. Overall the food was good. The rainbow roll was fresh but needed more dressing on it. The miso in my option needed just a dab more miso and a little more tofu. The salad was cold and crispy with a very tasty ginger dressing. The Lunch special was a great deal since it came with the rice, soup, salad, tempura, California roll, and a choice of your choosing. I choose the beef roll which was an asparagus wrapped with beef around it with a teriyaki glaze. I highly recommend that choice as the asparagus still had a bite to it and the beef was not over cooked. The NY steak was cooked perfectly medium as requested and was tender and well seasoned. I would return and try this place again as overall I walked out happy, full without feeling like I had a heavy meal, and I had left over food. read more

I've never had a bad experience at a teppanyaki restaurant, but there is a first for everything. I brought family from out of town so that the kids could enjoy the show. Well turns out our chef decided he wasn't feeling like working on the experience part of the job, and thought making food I could get a Panda Express would suffice. Service is still great and personable. I do like coming here but the food is somewhat of a hit or miss. Some dishes are too salty which was the case for our popcorn lobster and one of our pricier rolls was completely missing the sauce which we only realized after we had finished eating it and I looked back on the menu bc it tasted like something was missing. last night I had a reservation at the Persian restaurant nearby but they didn't let us in cos apparently they ran out of food. bad start to the night already so we went to Sakura since it was close by. I've eaten at the Sakuras before for teppanyaki & was never really impressed by them; I like teppan elsewhere. we wanted sushi so we sat at the bar to get immediate seating. one of their specials of the day was "fresh oysters". I questioned if "today's specials" meant it would be a discount. I ordered them anyway since half a dozen was $17.99 which is decently priced. when they brought out the plate, right off the bat, it did not look fresh. they were super watery & had too many toppings. we each had one & regretted ordering it. it was so mushy & bad; it was not fresh at all! we could not eat anymore. to make matters worse, my sister whispered to me to look straight ahead of me. there was a cockroach crawling on the sushi bar!!! I could not believe it. what a horrible dining experience. at least my sushi as good and got rid of the bad oyster taste. when we got the bill, the oysters were $19.99. I told the server it's $17.99 on the menu. she said it was an old menu & that the price changed & asked if that was okay. her asking me if it was okay made me feel obligated to say yes. IMO the price should be honored cos that's the restaurant's mistake for not catching that & putting it out on the floor. she came back & showed me a new menu with the $19.99 price & asked me if I did not like the oysters cos we did not finish them. I told her they were not fresh. thank goodness we got them comped. I really did not want to be that bratty person in the first place, but I did not want to get sick from eating them. now I know that "specials" are probably not special at all & must mean they have extra old food they are trying to get rid of. I cannot get enough of this Teppanyaki restaurant. It starts off with how amazing there salad dressing is. And they're mushroom soup is ridiculously delicious or something so simple. The Teppanyaki has always been exceptional and we are stuff to the max. The fire show is always entertaining in a ton of fun. You almost always need reservations because they are extremely popular. They are wonderful for accommodating big parties in BIRTHDAYS. This is definitely the best Teppanyaki place. I've been to New York to Dallas. Love you guys.! read more

We were looking for a room to fit 15 family members all together for a 50th anniversary celebration on a Saturday night. This place was able to accommodate us. We did make reservations a week in advance. They have a separate room which has 2 stoves so we had 2 cooks. This was our first time there, we thought it was just a normal tekpinaki. We were wrong. When the cooks Barry and Ace came in, they had music for the presentation and throughout their time cooking for us. They did their dances, jokes, and tricks with the cooking. It was a fun time and made our experience great! We have been to a lot of different tekpinaki, this one was the most enjoyable. Our servers were great and went above and beyond when we needed anything extra. We didn't have to ask for refills, they were already asking us if we wanted one. We ordered appetizers: muscles, tuna sushi and tempura veggies. All were amazing. Our tekpinaki plates were mostly combos of chicken and fillet mignon. The fillet mignon melted in your mouth. That would be my recommendation. Overall experience was great and we will be back. read more

My boyfriend and I made reservations for 6:30, we were seated with a large party which was still waiting on an additional 4 people who ended up being no shows. Since we were the only 2 at the teppanyaki table, our server got our drinks and our order and said they were leaving the table open to see if they could seat some walk ins. They finally sat another large party at our table about 30 mins later. We ended up waiting an hour to get our dinner started which I had to ask if our cook could get started because we already had our night planned and had pre purchased tickets for a movie. We ordered seafood with our dinner and that had to be cooked last because the other party had allergies. I suggest asking about allergies before hand and seating guests accordingly, especially since we had already waited an hour past our reservation time. To make matters even worse, the next day we realized we got the wrong debit card, had to cancel ours, and go without access to funds until we can receive a new debit card. First time and last time I will ever go to this restaurant. Went for a birthday dinner and they charged me for my 10-year-old son as an adult. When I pointed it out to the waitress she said it was because he ordered spicy chicken. The funny part is she even served him an ice cream with the other kids even though he was charged as an adult. Way overpriced for my 10 year old. I did talk to the manager and she told me it's because he ordered his chicken spicy. The manager did nothing to even try to fix the situation. The appetizers we got were fried vegetables and they were like rubber and the soup had so much oil that it was as separating. We asked for the chicken teriyaki plate and it was plain white rice with chicken that looked boiled and unseasoned. I've had so many issues with this restaurant in terms of consistency with quality. The rice is under seasoned most of the time, we had HUGE fatty chunks of meat in our fried rice as well where we couldn't go a bite without pulling out chunks. My filet mignon was overcooked to point if felt like lovingly roasted boot leather, and we found raw strips of the bacon in our dinner. I'm so disappointed. This place has gone downhill. We went out after seeing a movie. We were seated and the heat from the grill was stifling I could barely breathe. All the chefs had different music playing and it was so loud that I couldn't hear anyone else at my table. We literally were texting eachother because we couldn't hear eachother. Our chef was awful. Didn't introduce himself, did no tricks, forgot to give us our shrimp appetizers, forgot a steak for one of the meals. It was just bad. Barely interacted with us at all. Granted we wouldn't have been able to hear him over all the music, but still you expect something. The exhaust fan doesn't work so literally all the steam and smoke billows right into your face. I've never had such a terrible experience here, but it was so bad, I don't think I'm willing to risk it and come back. read more
