Is it fake designer? Or is the manager trying to cheat customers? I purchased a pair of Alexandre Birman shoes and they didn't have a box. The SA said people switch shoe boxes. I do not understand why you would allow people to switch boxes especially for designer shoes. I visited this store and found a YSL medium clutch on display. This particular clutch (YSL Pouch Medium) is sold in Saks Fifth Avenue (and the Saint Laurent store) for $595 regular price. It was priced in this Saks off fifth store for $989.99. I wasn't sure of the price and waited until I got home to confirm my suspicions. I then called the store hoping they would re-examine the clutch and hold it for me. Instead the manager was rude and doubled down that she does the pricing, the clutch is not mistagged and the price is correct. The box for the clutch is there with the correct name but she refused to listen. Based on how the phone conversation went I'm happy I didn't approach her in the store. Despite corporate customer service promising to have another manager contact me, I was never contacted. Examine all items before purchasing and taking home especially designer items!!! They are overpriced or fake. read more

SAKS OFF 5th's unacceptable, unprofessional, and potentially unlawful selling practices include advertising and selling inventory that is unavailable, failing to issue refunds in a timely manner, shipping incorrect and/or damaged merchandise and not refunding consumers for the shipping expense following the return of the wrong / defective product, and rendering substandard customer service. Unfortunately, the Canadian parent company (Hudson's Bay) is unwilling to assist customers with a Saks Off 5th issue of concern. Thus, consumers can file a complaint against Saks Off 5th with the (US) Federal Trade Commission for deceptive, fraudulent, and other problematic business transactions. This Saks Off 5th has a reasonably large men's section, and a handful of messenger bags and backpacks. I was hoping they would have some men's watches as well but the collection was mainly focused on women's jewelry. Lot of sweaters and things but they could use some smaller sizes. I also saw better prices on a bunch of the Magnannl shoes online (from Neiman Marcus Last Call). Didn't end up getting anything here but glad it is here in Potomac Mills! read more

I trusted the company will be offering deeply discounted prices as they claimed; however, I found out that I could have save $150 if I had purchased it directly from the Off Saks website than their so called close out sales. They wouldn't price match their own advertised price either and the sales are final. Don't trust their prices. read more

Designer duds at a discount? Yes, please! I wasn't really sure what to expect when a friend and I decided to check out Off Fifth following a successful visit to Ikea. I've been on the hunt for a dress for an upcoming event, so I thought it would be worth a shot to venture into this discount Saks while at Potomac Mills. First impression? I was pretty impressed with the store's organization. Outlets can often be overwhelming and a bit chaotic, but that wasn't the case with this store. Designer sections were clearly labeled and none of the racks were overly stuffed. It's the worst when you're trying to shop and you find yourself battling with hangers and using strength to sift through displays. None of that here! Sizes are limited, as expected, but if you can find a gem in your size, you could definitely leave with a huge score (and a great new wardrobe addition). I was close to taking home an Alice + Olivia number, but it was missing a button and I wasn't 100% sold so I passed. Despite the fact that I sadly left empty-handed, I'd say Off Fifth is a must-visit for any fashionistas shopping at Potomac Mills. read more

I go to Potomac Mills when I'm feeling particularly masochistic. Then I realize what a bad idea that was and head straight for Off 5th. Quieter, saner, and devoid of the devil children running through every other part of this complex. A lot of Theory and Piazza Sempione, for those of us who work for the man. Chaiken and Eileen Fisher for the moms. Juicy Couture and C&C California for their teenagers. For shoes, a lot of Tory Burch and Cole Hahn. For some reason, the shoes are noticeably sexier than the clothes. The men's section seems decent. On one trip, my husband scored two suits, Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein, for under a grand, and a D&G shirt for almost nothing. I, on the other hand, bought a Dana Buchman (what was I thinking?) jacket that I've never worn because it makes me look like Sigourney Weaver from "Working Girl." But every once in a while, you might find a gem that makes it all worthwhile. Like the white MaxMara box jacket that retailed for $800 but was on clearance for $100 when I snatched it. And my Stuart Weitzmann peeptoe pumps in gunmetal grey for $125. Thought I'd have to take down that MILF-wannabe who'd been eyeing them (as if she'd fit my size!), but she wisely backed off. Saks 5th was a big miss. My nephew and I walked in-- even a fast food place gives you a better greetings compare to what we received "hi do you need help"? That was the opening line as soon as we walked in. In the men's section I found 4 shirts-- needed opinion/help but no one ever showed up. After spending 15 minutes at the store I just gave up and left. As we were leaving-- my nephew was ahead of me-- two of the ladies by the exit said goodbye to him-- made "SEXUAL" remarks about him being sexy. As I left I could hear giggles and chuckles --- were they just point blank horny or that's how sl*tty Saks Fifth Avenue is? Felt more like as if I was in "red-light district" not in a good store. So guys, if you wanna get laid you know where to go, but if you are looking for "professional service, staff" skip this location. They had good cloths, good choices but due to service I will never suggest or visit them again. read more

Customer service at all of these locations are always top notch! If you love being treated special, then these stores will help side in this ego issue (that I clearly seem to have). I will never shop here again. I ordered a pair of shoes online. They didn't fit correctly and I ended up changing my mind about them, so I sent them back. They mailed me back a card that had the merchandise credit on it. When attempting to use it, carefully typing and re-typing the card number and pin, it continued to say that my card was invalid. I typed in the same numbers when I called the number to check the balance and it told me the balance and everything, $43. So, knowing that there was a balance and that the card was valid when checking the balance, I tried it again on the website, still with no luck. I called the company and I have been on the phone talking with this lady, Susan for almost 40 minutes now. She has not been able to resolve the issue and is telling me everything I already know and have already told her. I am trying not to be harsh, but I am very frustrated. Incompetent people who barely spoke English. They were void of any intelligence. Ripped me off and waiting over 3 weeks for my refunds on 4 items. One refund was $10 short and charged me for a return shipping label they never sent me because they stopped delivery themselves after they sent wrong items. They are the worst retailer online. supervisors are hard to reach and when you speak with one, they are not empathetic to the terrible service and their mistakes, or all the calls I had to make to get my money back. I'll start with the Good: baby clothes department gets a good selection of clothes. Also there are sunglasses from designers like Prada, YSL, Alexander McQueen for around $100. Men's department - I personally can never find anything good here although it has a lot of selection and looks much cleaner that The rest of the store. Which brings me to the Bad: Women's designer clothing - they sell clothes that I saw 3-4 years ago for the same price - clothing that is ripped up and has pulls all over looking like someone used it as a carpet - they still try to sell it. Just donate it to someone already! They get 3 stars only because I did find Brunello Cucinelli there once - but it's nearly impossible to catch them on a good week. read more

Horrible customer service. I've been shopping here for years but I've never had one outstanding experience...not a single one. There are some gems to be found once in a while if you don't mind digging. The exhilaration of a good find is always dampened by my interaction at checkout. No one ever acknowledges you or asks if they can help you. You would think that an association with such a high end brand like Saks would have some consideration for customer service. So, I wanted to write a review in regards to my boyfriend's last visit. He purchased a suit, shirts and 2 David Yurman bracelets (or so he thought). He came home and showed me his bracelet and then gave me mine as a gift. It was in a David Yurman case and had the tag on it...me being nosey, I looked to see how much he had spent......well, the sticker was halfway on.....right under the sticker was another tag with a lower price on it....kind of through me for a loop - I went to try on the bracelet and upon looking at the inside, it wasn't even David Yurman but instead John Hardy. This bracelet was in the David Yurman section and being sold as such with a marked-up price. He left the tags on it and returned to the store located in Potomac Mills Mall in Woodbridge, VA. After he told the sales associate what had happened, he was refunded the money. Though that was a good thing, we are still very disappointed that this incident happened. We shop there often and now feel like we would have to "research" anything that we want before we purchased it. Just thought I would pass this information on. read more

Like an idiot I went to this store on Black Friday...but I had a gift card that I needed to get rid off. I walked around the store trying to find something that wouldn't require me to return to the store to exchange it. After spending about two hours in the store I pick out sunglasses and proceed to the register. The sales lady informs me that the sunglasses are the ONLY items in the store that are not on sale. Say what?! I was exhausted that I didn't argue, purchased the sunglasses and left. As I'm leaving the store I look around at the big red signs stating 40% off your entire purchase. I go online and sure enough the SAME sunglasses are eligible for 40% off plus free shipping. I call the store to see if I can get my price adjusted. No such luck because the website offers different deals. Then I call online and they tell me to just go return the item in store and they'll apply the gift card to my online purchase. I live in Alexandria, so now I have to drive back to Potomac mills to return the sunglasses and purchase them online at 40% off. Even though it's the SAME store and the SAME pair of sunglasses. Best to time to special sales where one can get buy one, get two free (paying only the already discounted price of one item, this is one heck of a deal). Just have to shop it and be patient.
