I love Sake Bomb. They are hands down the best for sushi and hibachi. It's definitely my go to whenever I don't want to cook dinner. I'm not a raw sushi person so I usually order the California roll and Shrimp Tempura with no fish eggs. My bf enjoys the Rainbow, Fire, Philly and California roll as well. As for hibachi, I always get the Shrimp Hibachi while my bf gets the steak and chicken combo. It is a huge portion, large enough for 2. The Chicken Teriyaki is also great when I'm watching my diet, it's literally just chicken, veggies, and rice and some sauce. My complaint has 100% to do with the Horrible service we received at this restaurant. My friend and I both had Local Flavor coupons. In the past, we had both been allowed to use them for our checks. However, this time, we were told that there was a limit of 1 coupon per party on this coupon. OK. not a major crisis. My problem is with the god awful service from the waitress and how she handled the situation. She was indifferent, flippant and frankly quite the jerk about it. We were discussing this with her and she told us we couldn't use both coupons and then briskly walked away while we were still talking to her. I was offended and we both wanted to leave, but we ended up staying in the end. What management should have done was made an exception based on how it was handled in the past and allowed both coupons to go thru this one time with the understanding that they cannot allow it the next time. The sad part is, no one at this restaurant will even care about what is said in this review. Thing is I won't be going back to that restaurant for quite a while. We've been here in the past and was on the fence so decided to give it another chance. The service was not attentive at all as if we came at a bad time, but it wasn't busy. We ordered today around 2:45, was told 25 minutes for pickup. Arrived at 3:15 and was told that it would be ready in a couple minutes. I sat down to wait and 15 minutes later I inquired about the order and the cashier said she'd tell me when it was ready. Then I see the chef start a platter which turned out to be mine and I asked again what was the issue and the cashier left for the day and another took over. The new cashier replies that she just got here and she would bring my food out when it's done, now I've been waiting for 30 minutes. If I hadn't paid already I would have left, so I waited for 35 minutes and no explanation except that I wasn't here. We frequently go for sushi, but for sure every year we go on their anniversary for the Hibachi. Combo Hibachi (steak, chicken, salmon, shrimp, or tufu - pick 2), with salad, soup, rice or noodles, 2 piece shrimp appetizer, and vegetables for a very good price! Extremely disappointed come here almost monthly for work or family events for the last few years with parties of 5-10 the last 2-3 times have gone down hill tonight the worst! Every Wednesday is 1/2 off on sushi so it's always packed. Usually 30 min waits are common for dinner time and we had to wait roughly 35 min to get seats. That wasn't the issue, the problem was related to the terrible customer service by the waiter that served us. We sat in at about 8:30pm and ordered a few sushi rolls each, and fast forward 40 min still no service. Meanwhile other customers are getting their food before us and my friend and I were just waiting patiently for nothing. Waiter stopped by our table 3 different times claiming "the sushi will be right out." It wasn't until I went up to the hostess directly and asked what was going on that they finally started making the rolls. Evidently the chef 'lost' our order ticket... so we were just sitting there close to two hours for nothing. The sushi was fine after the long wait, as I'm sure anything would've tasted good after waiting so long. It was easily the worst service I've experienced in central New York, and the lack of communication and customer service in the restaurant is something that no one wants to deal with. I must preface this review by saying our experiences with Sake Bomb up until today have always been positive. Our family decided to order a special meal for takeout to celebrate Néw Year's Day. We ordered 3 hibachi combo meals which cost approximately $100.00. The filet mignon was absolutely rancid. The texture of the meat was mushy, almost like pâté and it smelled like actual feces. There is no doubt in my mind the meat was bad. The texture and smell was so awful that each of us spit it out immediately after chewing realizing something was wrong. Each of us had bites that seemed normal and tasted okay prior to experiencing the bad meat. We ended up sick to our stomach and ended up discarding our meals since all of the food was intermixed in the takeout containers. We are hoping and praying that we will not get sick. We did call the restaurant to tell them of our experience and they did not offer anything as far as a refund or even a partial refund. We understand restaurants are struggling due to the pandemic but something should have been offered for our inconvenience. We assume they did not know the meat was rancid and typically do not judge a restaurant based on one horrible experience but the lack of concern by customer service compounded by no attempt to rectify the situation will prevent us from patronizing the restaurant in the future. Sake bomb has quite the diverse menu when it comes to what you are in the mood for. You could go in for some delicious hibachi, fresh sushi, or maybe just order something yummy off their menu. We don't go here for the full hibachi and normally just order straight off of the menu and it always is good. Price wise, everything is about the same as a lot of other hibachi restaurants in the area. Some things can be quite pricy, but if you go in with a budget and control you desires to buy multiple yummy items, your going to be just fine. We ordered the sashimi house and some other stuff. After waiting for around 30 minutes, we got the wrong one which was the sushi house. We asked the waitress and waited for another 30 minutes to get the sashimi without an apology finally. What's worse was that the sashimi was surprisingly thinner than usual, and some were not even a complete piece! I'm pretty sure because we went there a few times and we just finished another sashimi. Hard to put your thumb on it unless you knew what was there before. Also I noticed something peculiar. Two patrons ordered shots and their check so they could leave. They were told they couldn't have their drinks paid and walked out. I am 98% sure the owner was trying set up them up for a DWI as an unmarked vehicle awaited them as they exited. I came here on Wednesday night (1/2 off sushi night) & was given an estimate of around 30 minute wait time. Luckily, we got our table in around 15. My biggest beef with this place is the length of time it takes to get your food. The party next to our table didn't have food when we sat down, then got food, then finished their meal and sat for an extra 20 minutes talking during the time that we still didn't get food. We waited over 30 minutes after ordering to receive food. The rolls I tried were the spicy girl (spicy tuna w. crunchy inside, spicy crab meat on top), coconut shrimp roll, Syracuse roll & the Geisha roll. I was very excited to see the coconut shrimp roll because I love coconut shrimp & have never seen it incorporated in a sushi roll before. I thought the coconut sauce on the outside tasted off and the coconut shrimp inside the roll was just ok. It was my least favorite roll of the 4 I ordered. I loved that they gave you a ton of ginger & wasabi. I normally have to ask for more ginger but I definitely got enough here. I ordered well done steak and lobster and was given five small cubes of lobster. The veggies are soaked in condensation juice with no flavor. The meat is flavorless. The rice is just rice. Nothing in it, no egg, no onion NOTHING. My boyfriend ordered his filet medium and it came out well done. The manager upon calling says medium is no pink. I said what's the difference between well done and medium then because ours are the exact same. She says medium is "hot". I said clearly our ideas of medium differ but what can you do about this? She only offered to have the food recooked by the same clearly inexperienced chef. "If u have never been here before this is how we cook it". This place doesn't compare to other hibachi I've had. This place is awesome. It can be super busy, but the wait for a table is never too long. The drink menu is decent, they pour a little light at times but the mixed drinks are good and not overly sweet. The sushi menu is good, as always I ordered a tuna and salmon sashimi to test the freshness of the fish, and it was quite good, an 8/10. The specialty rolls are quite good as well. I went for lunch on the half priced sushi on wednesday. For the price you can't beat it especially with all the different kinds of rolls/pieces and regular lunch specials that they have to offer. It had enough flavor and the portion was decent. The rolls consisted of yellowtail with scallion, eel and avocado, and spicy tuna. I thought three of them were tasty and fresh. As far as the hibachi lunch, the fried rice was delicious however the steak and the shrimp lacked any real flavor. As far as price, we as two people came out to about 35 without tip and i felt full enough where i had a light dinner. While I wasn't disappointed with the food, I do hope that the service will get better. If you're afraid to go downtown or are looking for a decent sushi place in the cicero area, check it out!. We felt rushed , she had a huge attitude to all the guests that sat there, plain rude and wasn't even attentive.
