Nigiri and sashimi combo
Kevin L.

Super-friendly service, generous portions, dodgy fish on a Monday. I walked in the door to a friendly greeting, and was seated at the bar. The staff is super-attentive (in a good way) and seemed like they were ready to do whatever they could to make me happy. I'm kind of an old-skool sushi guy, and tend to order nigiri and simple rolls; dude (who was handling the register, making sushi, and just generally doing everything) tried to talk my into a dynamite roll instead of the nigiri and sashimi combo I wanted; maybe I should've listened? Anthony Bourdain apparently recanted his claim that you should never eat sushi on a Monday (because fish markets weren't open on the weekend and you'd get odds and ends), but in this might be a case where I should've followed that advice. There wasn't a lot of fish in the refrigerated case on the bar, and when I got my sushi, it was looking pretty sketchy, and didn't taste amazing. The surface of the fish was kind of wet, although perhaps not yet slimy. And after I left, I felt a bit queasy -- and sushi never really sets me off. For all that, servings were generous and the staff was friendly throughout. The interior was nothing fancy, with green vinyl chairs and table, but it was clean and bright and welcoming. The bar was either unusually high or the stool/chair was unusually low, but it felt a bit uncomfortable. There are plenty of tables, and I'd sit there next time. I hope that I just caught them on a bad day.

TL;DR: Highly recommended. Excellent collection of sushi! The only thing better than their sushi is their hospitality. ***Ambiance*** This place has two entrances: front and back. Parking is at the back entrance. The back entrance facing Headson Drive has ample parking space. The ambiance was very homely and welcoming. Clean dining space with well-separated tables. (pics attached) ***Staff and service*** Staff was super friendly, and we were seated right away. We took time to decide on what to order, and the server was very patient with us. This seems to be a family-owned restaurant, and judging by the interaction among them, it seems that the people working there are related. It added to the homely atmosphere of this place. ***Drinks*** There were no options for alcoholic drinks, and it was not missed. We all continued with water. ***Food*** The food was simply amazing. We ordered fried spring rolls and fried shrimp dumplings, and both were excellent (see pics). They were made fresh, served hot, and were crispy. We ordered hot sauce on the side, which added a kick to it. We got four different types of sushi and a noodle bowl, and all of them tasted wonderful. My favorite was the crab rangoon roll. They were served family-style on a single plate (see pic), and everyone shared everything. ***Overall*** It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it. The food was excellent, and the hospitality was over the top. Having dinner there did not feel like having food at a sushi place, it felt more like having sushi at someone's home. I will be back for sure. Highly recommended!o

Syracuse Roll - $13.99

From what I've gathered, the switch to "AT Sushi" is just a name change. When I asked, they told me their menu wasn't changing from Sushi House. The first time I came here I was in a rut, having eaten nothing but fast food or worse for days in a row. There's plenty of ways out of a rut like that, but on this day I came looking for a poke bowl and some miso soup. It was exactly what the doctor ordered, a blast of fresh and delicious at a reasonable price to undo days of bad decisions. The only thing that was lacking was crunch options. When you're running multiple raw fish proteins, it's nice to counter it with a variety of dry crunch, but here we only had the seaweed that came in it. The 2nd time we ordered was for a load of sushi. We ordered 5 rolls at $67.99 for way more sushi than we knew what to do with in one day. We always look for deep fried options first, but avoided the crab rangoon rolls over the cream cheese. My favorite was the white dragon roll, with the Syracuse roll as a close second. Everything we got for sushi was good and fresh, and held together well. All in all, they're a fine place for take out sushi. There are places that I like better, but I'd never turn down food from here.

We decided to go here for lunch as I had seen this restaurant being promoted a lot in SM lately and I am glad I did! To start with, we were seated immediately as we entered. The restaurant is spacious with lots of tables available. We ordered Sashimi combo B with 12 pieces, volcano roll and 911 roll. This was enough for 2 of us! The combo had chef's choice and each piece had a buttery and melt in your mouth texture. The volcano roll was crunchy with ample shellfish and spicy sauce. The 911 roll was spicy with asparagus/craw fish combo. Everything was delicious and the fish was so fresh! Special shoutout to the chef for converting our sashimi into nigiri because of a confusion from our side. Our server was super sweet and attentive. They also had a 10% discount going on. I recommend this restaurant for their fresh seafood and reasonable prices.

Really great sushi. Some of the better sushi in the area. But we won't be back and here's why. The service? Almost nonexistent. Nearly 2 hours for 4 people with only one other table when we walked in a little before 6 pm on a Tuesday night. Waters alone took nearly 20 mins and then another 15 before she came back for our order. Generally speaking, slow service/understaffed is one thing. And it's a pandemic--I worked in the restaurant business so I get it--but this was more a case of disinterested server taking one thing at a time to the table ( to go boxes, checks, one water glass at a time, etc). And then the menu pricing...beware and check your bill. Every single item on our bill was rung for more than what was listed on the menu, some as much as $3 more than listed on the menu, with zero concern or willingness to change to the menu price.

It does look good but it was warm and more to self - spicy tuna is usually made from old tuna!!

The only star I give is for the miso. Everything looked ok but : 1. Never got my water from the waitress- asked for it twice and then the sushi chef got it for me 2. Ordered hot green tea - never got it 3. Ordered yellowtail nigiri - definitely was NOT yellowtail. It had a very odd weird taste to it. 4. Tempura shrimp as ok 5. Sweet shrimp - not sweet shrimp (looked completely different to what I have received in the past) 6. Salmon nigiri was tasty 7. $43 for mediocre sushi - plus the charges on the receipt were not what was on the menu. 8. The roll I got was ok - the wasabi tasted old and the ginger tasted funky Not feeling very well right now. I was so damn hungry I should have only ordered the miso soup - should have read the reviews before walking in there

My SO loves this place. We came here on a weekday afternoon and got a tuna tower, volcano roll, and tofu teriyaki bento box. The tower was my favorite, very tasty and portion was huge (though it was a lot of rice). Bento box was okay. I felt the crawfish and baby scallops were very overcooked on the volcano roll. Overall the food here is alright (not amazing), but a lot of food. Service is slow and the prices get kind of funky at the end (everything costs just a little more than on the menu, which isn't a terribly big deal but just a little strange). I wouldn't go too far out of my way to come back, but a decent place for Syracuse.

The sushi is fantastic. The service is great! The owner made me a special request to take home after we ate great food in house. Highly recommend!

We called ahead for our group of eight. They said that they don't take reservations but they appreciated the heads up. We showed up and they actually had a table set up for us. The place wasn't busy but the food did take forever... It's possible that they were busy with takeouts since they're seemed to be a constant flow of that. It was a little chaotic with having so many people but the waits between getting the attention of a server and the food coming out was a little crazy. My friend did not get his food until we had been there for an hour and a half. He was not happy and probably will never return. He said the ramen was not great, it had no flavor. But everyone else at the table was extremely pleased. I think the most surprising dish was the Japanese curry which I will be back to try! We ended up trying a little bit of everything and from what we can tell everything seemed pretty fresh and delicious. I would just not go back with a large group until this place is settled. Carry out seems to be the way to go right now.

I recently learned that this place opened up and thought I'd try it, since I was going to be in the area anyway and didn't have much else on my agenda for the day. I called in my order for takeout/pickup and was told it would be about 10-15 minutes. When I arrived, the bag was waiting for me, and I was rung up quickly. I forgot to take pictures of the inside, but it's surprisingly spacious. Usually when I get sushi, I opt for basic rolls over fancy ones. However, the prices here are super reasonable, so I decided to splurge and try something special. I choose the Baby Roll, which is smoked salmon, avocado inside, and cream cheese, with crispy onion, spicy sauce, and teriyaki sauce on top. The takeout box squashed the sprinklings a smidge, but when I unwrapped the food presentation was still A++. The taste...man, oh, man. Big, juicy chunks of fish, complimented perfectly by the other flavors and textures. The onions added a nice crunch in contrast to the creaminess of the sauce and the cream cheese. Everything tasted super fresh. Perfectly filling and satisfying. This might just become a go-to spot for me. Seriously, so good. Can't wait to try more of their rolls. Sushi House is excellent, and I really hope it thrives!

We finally made our way over to Sushi House and we will be back. Even among the numerous sushi options on Erie, it stands out. The rolls are super creative and reasonably priced (specialty rolls are $11-12). They bring you a free crab Rangoon roll for an appetizer, and my husband and I ordered 5 more rolls... even for hungry people, it was a lot of food. No leftovers though, because everything was so good. Highly recommend.

Portions are big and sushi was absolutely amazing 10/10. Came late on a Sunday night craving sushi and was not disappointed!

Listen here listen here , I can't believe I've been here so many times and never left a review!…read moreMitsuba is hands down my favorite poke spot in the Syracuse area. I always get the salad base and my mom usually goes with the noodles -- and let me tell you, they never miss. This time, I think our bowls got mixed up a little, and mine ended up with some ah tuna. I've always been hesitant to try it since I usually stick to cooked seafood, but it was actually so good! Flavorful, fresh, and the texture was way better than I expected -- honestly, similar to shrimp. If you like shrimp, you'd probably enjoy this too. For toppings, I went with shrimp, mango, crab meat, corn, chili flakes, and a few other things (I even snapped a pic of my order card because I can never remember everything!). The poke bowls are always fresh, flavorful, and customizable, and I love that you can watch them chop everything right in front of you. This visit I also tried the crab rangoons -- they were a little too crunchy for me, and my little one even said the same (and she usually loves rangoons). My mom tried the chicken wings, which were good, but I'll personally be sticking to the poke bowls because they are the star here. The restaurant is always clean, the staff is super friendly, and the quality is consistently top-notch. If you're looking for poke in Syracuse, this is the place. Five stars for the poke bowls, no question! They do sell all type of bubble drinks as well.
